    Downtown

The city has a unique skyline, clashing between modern sky rises and small victorian storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however.

i hear the footsteps inside of me
He chuckles easily when Dorian comments about the alcohol and notes the almost uneasiness the faerie has as Malek questions him suddenly. Letting it slide for the moment, perhaps a few more drinks would loosen the fae’s tongue, then again, the vampire was actually enjoying the man’s company. It had been a long time he had found companionship in anyone that wasn’t falling over themselves to get Mal to bed. He grins at his newfound potential friend and he does note that the faerie is rather attractive and it had been a long while since he had another immortal accompany to his bed. But for now, Malek is content with the progression of the conversation.

”There are far, far more potent drinks than this, I can assure you, my friend,” he recalls a night long ago that was made up of entirely moonshine, he almost shudders at the memory of that hangover. He is very thankful when the man changes the subject on him. ”And what brought you here?” he questions as he takes another drink of his whiskey. It isn’t long before his question is partially answered Dorian’ too. s demeanor seeming to suddenly shift subtly. Dark Hunter’s. Yes, Malek had ran into a few over his life span and found out quickly that they were surprisingly hard to kill too.

Yet, the vampire does note the word “castle” and his brows raise slightly as he takes in the faerie from a different perspective. If the man was old enough to live in a time of kings and queens, the man was far older than Malek had originally anticipated, so he orders another drink for the both of them, sliding the empty glasses back to the bartender and begins to work on the third glass of whiskey for the evening, offering the other one to the faerie. ”Dark Hunter’s, castles, it sounds like a fairy tale!” he exclaims, a smile spreading on his lips as he pries to see what other information he would offer up.

He can begin to feel the alcohol effects on his powers, but he holds them in place so as to not let the man leave too early. Malek was suddenly afraid that if he were to let the alcohol take away his power, the faerie would just suddenly leave, realizing the vampire was nothing more than a hooligan. He clutches his glass tightly as he turns fully in his seat so that his knee accidently brushes the faerie’s leg. Offering an apologetic smile, he retracts his leg so that it is firmly in his own bubble.

The vampire watches Dorian carefully as his eyes wander towards the floor and back to him. It is his next words that bring a bellowing laugh bubbling to the surface, ”And you are very short! I believe we would make a rather good team in one another’s bed,” his words roll off his tongue suddenly. Scrunching up his face, as if he couldn’t believe he said that, Malek then realizes that he was becoming much more drunk than he had anticipated. Laughing again, he leans forward on the edge of his chair, as he invades the faerie’s bubble, long strands of hair falling around his face to frame it.

Though drinking dulled his powers it more often than naught managed to get him into more beds, especially when he was in public. Unfortunately, there were not many liquor stores open when he was out roaming the streets. Instead, he subtly increases the attraction suddenly curious to see how strong of a will the faerie had. The vampire was still uncertain as to if he would be leaving the bar tonight with a lover or a friend, as of now, he was immensely enjoying himself.

Flashing a grin at Dorian, Malek glances down at the drink he’s holding, ”Want to try something different? I bet there are many different types of alcohol in this establishment that you have never tried,” he laughs, setting his drink down and calling out to the bartender again, ”Could we get a few round of shots? Let’s do two fireball’s, two of your best vodka’s and two of your choice,” he calls down the bar and watches briefly as the man scuttles around to retrieve what Mal ordered.

Glancing back at Dorian, it isn’t long before all six shots are placed next to them and Malek snatches the glass out of the faerie’s hand, placing it next to his own empty glass. Reaching for the fireball first, he takes the fae’s hand and drunkenly hands him the shot, making sure he hands a firm hold on it, as if it were alive and moving. Well, the room certainly was beginning to spin now. A lazy grin stretches across his lips, fangs and all glinting in the dim light, ”It’s kind of a game,” he gestures towards the shots, ”For now, the goal is to drink everything in the glass in one drink,” pausing, Malek raises a brow, ”This one burns like hell at first,” he warns and clinks his shot glass against the faerie’s.

”On three. One, two, three!” he tilts his head back and takes the swig, enjoying the warm feeling it spreads across his chest. Laughing he sets his glass down and waits for Dorian’s reaction.
