    The East

The east side of the city is often considered the heart of Sacrosanct. It's here were the majority of the shopping district can be found, deep in the heart of downtown. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often times, new comers to the city may be come overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever present feeling that's hardly noticed. The streets of the east side are frequented by all species as many companies are housed in the sky scrapers and hole in the wall establishments that line the streets.

    Downtown

The city has a unique skyline, clashing between modern sky rises and small victorian storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however.

Malek Ackerman

You're my water. You're my wine.

Malek can’t help but chuckle at her soft reply, perhaps she didn’t have a lot of experience in the land of alcohol, Malek had centuries. Simply shrugging at her as he replaces her drink with a new one, he flashes her another broad grin as she takes on a rather indifferent tone. Perhaps this woman was used to being feared, Mal was far too old to be afraid but he wasn’t dumb enough to disregard her altogether, his species tended to be finicky and easily angered. Tilting his head towards the woman, he simply raises his own glass to his lips to take a sip, “My dear, I am an old man and I can’t believe anyone would hurt an old man,” he laughs a little playfully, watching her from the corner of his eye.

He wasn’t here to anger the woman but if worst came to worst, he had found out recently that his power could be used, quite well if I might add, as a defensive weapon. Though, he didn’t particularly care to submit anyone under that much… torture. When she speaks again her tone silky smooth rolling off of her tongue nicely, he turns his gaze back towards her, not flinching away from her piercing gaze. If anything, Malek simply openly regarded her as well, attempting to see what type a game his fellow specimen was playing.

“Perhaps if you get drunk a time or two you will understand. It feels quite heavenly, though it takes us vampires much longer to fall into that state,” he pauses, reaching a hand up to scratch at his beard, “Unless you decide to drink from a human who has all but consumed their body weight in alcohol, then you can feel the aftermath quite quickly,” he shrugs again. It had been a lifetime since he had fed from another human. He was, after all, a strange vampire, many called him an abomination, but Malek had lived this long somehow.

When that smile curls about her fangs, Malek lets his steely gaze dance across her lips briefly before looking out over the crowd. He didn’t particularly care to play her game and she was surely to be disappointed in his life choices but the vampire was curious to say the least. He didn’t meet very many of his species. Raising his shoulders, he lets one elbow slide behind him onto the bar in a casual manner, crossing his legs across one another, bringing his drink back to his lips. “I can’t say I would pick any,” he states slowly, letting his head loll to the side to watch her.

“I haven’t fed from a human in at least a century. Why hunt for them when they will come to you, most humans will ask you to feed from them,” he says, a serious note entering his tone, though that easy smile remains. “If you remain here I’m certain one of these drunken idiots will offer themselves up, after all, most humans revere the supernatural.” He glances at her again, watching her expression closely just as she takes a sip. “I see you didn’t cringe nearly as much,” he quirks a smile at her as a deep chuckle rumbles in his chest. “I’m certain we can find you something that you desire tonight,” he arches a brow at her, not entirely meaning just the alcohol.

You're my whiskey. From time to time.
