    The East

The east side of the city is often considered the heart of Sacrosanct. It's here were the majority of the shopping district can be found, deep in the heart of downtown. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often times, new comers to the city may be come overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever present feeling that's hardly noticed. The streets of the east side are frequented by all species as many companies are housed in the sky scrapers and hole in the wall establishments that line the streets.

    Downtown

The city has a unique skyline, clashing between modern sky rises and small victorian storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however.

One brow raised when Arlo scowled at the idea of having to keep the powers he was given. Damon didn't see what was so bad about that. His powers helped him feed, after all, so what could be better for his survival? Damon wasn't going to tell him what he wated to hear. He was never that type, not even when his own existence was on the line. He did want to treat Arlo though, show him that he could make friends with vampires, even coven vampires. He wanted to show him that they weren't all that bad or different. Just because they ate different things didn't mean they had to be natural enemies. There had to be a way for them to survive together without hunting each other down.

Damon was used to getting what he wanted. Even as a mortal, he would demand respect in a room. He was the oldest and therefore had the most responsibility in the household. He was the second man in the house should anything happen to his drunk of a father. That's why he had to join the military, to get away from it all. His father was always a yelling man and he took out his drunken rages on him and his brother anytime he had the chance. It was either that or he would get physical toward their mother and Damon couldn't have that. He loved his mother above all.

He took that protective streak and that air of respect with him into the immortal world. But his way with women...well, that came naturally. He always had his charm and his looks and thanks to Katherine, he would always have that. But none of this did anything for him now. Not now that he had Isolt. Soon he would have her completely and be able to come home to her every morning. She would be his wife. He never thought he could be so eager about committment. It was never in his nature. He treated girls like newspapers, a new one every day. But Isolt...something about her tore his heart right from his chest. It was like she carried it with her everywhere she went.

But a man had to eat and the girl dancing in his lap was ripe for the taking. He felt no shame or regret when he bit into her neck. Her blood tasted like heaven, like it always does. She meant nothing to him, just a blood bag for the taking. Her advances did nothing for him or the muscle in his pants but he was here to entertain Arlo and that's what he was doing. He watched the younger vampire lose control and take his first bite. That was where his real interests laid. He watched with a giddy enthusiasm as Arlo dispatched one then another vampire, teleporting himself from one location to another till he had both girls practically in his lap where he could feed off of them at will.

When Damon asked him about it, Arlo said that he did it because he thought his meal was going to be taken from him. Damon tilted his head.

"So is it all instinct with you?"

He wasn't trying to offend him or scold him. Rather there was only open curiosity in his voice. But they were interrupted by the server girl coming up to ask for their drink orders. Damon gave his and was all too amused with Arlo trying to make his girls "presentable" before he told the waitress he'd have what Damon was having. Damon chuckled.

"This should be interesting. You ever had Bourbon before? Not for the weak."

He smirked, his eyes twinkling. But his face sobered a little when Arlo said something about the vampire's heart rate being low. He was about to offer when he noticed Arlo was searching for something. He felt on her wrist and then he bit down and Damon could feel the energy suddenly flowing through her. He could harnass that energy if he wanted to, absorb it and use it himself, but this was interesting. He was learning Arlo's powers. Arlo bit her neck again and Damon tilted his head, wondering how much more blood she had left in her system if Arlo didn't want to leave any bodies like he had been so uppity about before.

He listened as Arlo told him that older vampires taste better and that he's sure Damon still tastes good but that he wouldn't bite him. Damon merely smirked. He was well aware that Arlo wouldn't bite him. Not without his consent. The waitress brought the drinks and Arlo was quick to drink his. Damon was impressed, one brow raising as he watched. Then Arlo asked about the blood and Damon lifted the girl's hair to show her neck. It was completely devoid of fangs marks.

"Not a fetish, just a way of survival. If so many people show up with fang marks then questions start getting asked and hunters start showing up. A vampire's blood can heal. I'd be interested to know if yours can do the same."

Then Arlo asked what he got to do every night, if this was his life, and even about the money. Damon laughed.

"No, no it's not what I do every night. Most nights I'd rather spend with Isolt but she gets wrapped up in the tavern and the coven and I try to give her her space. As for my money, I've acquired it through my wealthy family and then smart investments. When you have all the time in the world, you can afford to take risks and that's exactly what I've done."
