    The East

The east side of the city is often considered the heart of Sacrosanct. It's here were the majority of the shopping district can be found, deep in the heart of downtown. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often times, new comers to the city may be come overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever present feeling that's hardly noticed. The streets of the east side are frequented by all species as many companies are housed in the sky scrapers and hole in the wall establishments that line the streets.

    Downtown

The city has a unique skyline, clashing between modern sky rises and small victorian storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however.

death incarnate & night triumphant

Too slow, too slow, too slow.

It was a chant that continued to plague Andras through his nightmares. Each morning he would awake to a sweat coated body, those images haunting him so. Though the memories were from centuries ago, the male practically relived it every night when he shut his eyes, the blood and gore that coated the palace walls, bodies torn apart and strewn about carelessly across the ground, the children entirely massacred. That was always the worst part, faerie children dead around him and the lord wasn’t there to save them. Launching himself upright, Andras’s naked body is slick with sweat as he pants, his eyes wide with horror.

Gripping his fingers within those dark locks, he holds his head for a moment until he’s able to control his breathing. His massive wings are slack behind him, limp from exhaustion as the sun filters through his curtains. Once he’s finally in control of his emotions, he shifts in bed, running his fingers through his hair before he steps away from the massive four poster bed, his naked form casually walking across the room to the enormous pool in the other room. Without sinking his wings back into his body, he simply steps off the edge and drops into the heated water. He stays below the surface for moment, allow the heat to ease the tension in his body.

Snapping his gigantic wings out, he propels himself through the water with them, resurfacing and gasping for breath. He floats there for minutes or for hours, lost in thought, reeling through his memories and too soon his own mind chases him from the pool. Changing, he barely dried his hair before he exits into the cool afternoon light. Narrowing his eyes against the sun, it takes him a moment to adjust before his prowling along the streets, his wings sinking back into his back prior to exiting his estate. He didn’t need humans gawking at him, nor did he need a dark hunter to track him down whilst he was here.

Slipping his hands into his pockets, he strolls down the sidewalk, his features a mask of broody disinterest. Andras had spent his time here gathering a court to begin again and it was coming along far too slow for his liking but at the very least it was building, albeit slowly. Shoving the thought away abruptly, he finds himself in front of a bar, the same bar he had met Eve not too long ago. That wicked she-devil, she was definitely not a faerie to contend with, he was happy to see that the centuries did not dull that sharp tongue of hers. He could use someone like her within his court. Still, she could present a problem to him in the end, no one held that woman’s leash and Andras had no doubt he would be that person.

He’s tempted to let his face fall into his palm but instead, he pushes through those doors, delighted to see the near empty bar quiet. Stalking towards the counter, he slides into a seat and quickly orders a beer. It takes all but two seconds for the bartender to realize Andras was in no mood for chit chat and another two seconds before that beer was placed in front of him, the bartender giving Andras a dirty look and returning to his polishing of glasses. Not bothering to comment on it, the male tips his head back and guzzles at the beer. He needed a day off, he needed to not be haunted by nightmares, he needed the god damn world to be silent for five minutes, he needed peace and silent.

Clearly, today was not a good day for the Fae lord.
