    The East

The east side of the city is often considered the heart of Sacrosanct. It's here were the majority of the shopping district can be found, deep in the heart of downtown. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often times, new comers to the city may be come overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever present feeling that's hardly noticed. The streets of the east side are frequented by all species as many companies are housed in the sky scrapers and hole in the wall establishments that line the streets.

    Downtown

The city has a unique skyline, clashing between modern sky rises and small victorian storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however.

Well, this was it. He stopped at the entrance to the city, his Harley Davidson revving smoothly beneath him as he pulled his sunglasses up and surveyed the buildings and people already out walking the sidewalks. He didn't have much money and not much else to his name beside the bag on his back and the bike between his legs but this had to be better than the last two piece town he rode into. He could find a decent job somewhere and get some more money to stash for a rainy day, or the next time Doug came snooping around. It seemed no matter where he went, that stupid loan shark always seemed to find him. He kept telling him he would pay the money back, but he never promised when that would be. Doug will just have to keep nagging. Not that he wasn't more than a little nervous about the consequences that could come of his constant ghost acts. Every time Doug sent new goons after him, the threats got more serious. Last time he got tied up and beat up a little. The black eye took a solid two before he could see out of that eye properly and his wrist never quite felt right after the man bent it back and held it there. He worried that he might have broke it but it still worked okay so maybe just a sprain or something. He could hope.

Next time, they were promising something even more fun. For them, that is. But maybe in a city as big as this one, Taylor could give them a run for their money. They'd at least have to work for it if they were going to find him this time. His phone start ringing at that moment, the familiar ringtone held by none other than his ex-land lord Tommy chiming away. Taylor sneered at the screen before swiping his finger to the decline button. He'd need to junk this phone and get a new one before Tommy really started annoying him. It wasn't like he had planned on skipping town without paying his last month's rent....or the one before that one. For his credit, Tommy had been a decent guy. He'd made deals with Taylor, even allowing him to work off his rent through helping him with handyman stuff like fixing pipes and moving furniture for tenants. But Taylor was done with the past and he needed all of them to be done with it too. Putting the sunglasses back down, he revved his bike and headed further into the city, swerving to throw the phone in the nearest trash can as it started chiming that familiar ringtone once more. Sorry, Tommy.

He pulled into the cheapest hotel he could find. It would do, for tonight, at least. Once he got a decent job, he'd look for an actual apartment or something, maybe even a house if he got a good job. Until then, this would do nicely. He slung his bag in the room before heading to the east side of town. He heard a few men at the hotel laughing and talking about a place called the Cat's Meow. Apparently it was a burlesque and he'd never been to one before so why not? Women dancing and singing on stage in skimpy outfits while he got some decent liquor in him? Sounded like a good time. He parked his bike out front and headed in, picking a chair close to the stage so he could watch then he flagged down the closest waitress and asked for a shot of tequila. That should start the night off good.
