    The East

The east side of the city is often considered the heart of Sacrosanct. It's here were the majority of the shopping district can be found, deep in the heart of downtown. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often times, new comers to the city may be come overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever present feeling that's hardly noticed. The streets of the east side are frequented by all species as many companies are housed in the sky scrapers and hole in the wall establishments that line the streets.

    What's You'll Find Here

The city has a unique skyline, clashing between modern sky rises and small victorian storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however.

we built this city on broken glass

They were easy to read, the both of them, far easier then perhaps they knew. Frost hardly needing any particular talent to truly divest either woman off the inner workings of their own mind. The Hunter girl was so innocent it was bordering upon naivety. She possessed a simple sweetness of character, a belief in the goodness of the world that near baffled him. As if nothing truly terrible had ever happened to her and she great each day with a resounding joy and hopefulness he both loathed and envied all at once. Had he ever been that foolish? Perhaps, in his youth, before he realised those barbed wire fences that ran around the length of the place he had been born were not their to keep others out. Rather- they were there to keep him in. Ellie was trusting, too trusting, the world would, in time, teach her those lessons he was sure. That she had made it this far without any true incident was almost alarming and yet perhaps she had merely been blessed with a luck most were not. Then again, was such innocence truly a positive trait? How long would it be before it led her astray and into the arms of someone or something that would devour her like the world so had a habit of doing? Perhaps he should not allow his mind to craft such despondent thoughts and yet he had long ago lost any faith in the goodness of humanity or the wretchedness of kindness. No one in this world truly did anything for free- and if they did they were a fool. Still, how unfortunate it would be for any harm to befall that little hunter girl who created those pleasing treats. That alone perhaps inspired his belief in some measure of value in the girl. Her friend however, was another story.

The blonde one, Beylani, was more wary. He could see it in her face, in her eyes, in the way she held her body as if a part of her hardly wished to believe he might be a threat and yet some hidden voice whispered it all the same. Something or someone had injured her before. Enough to shatter the illusion her companion still existed beneath that the world was kind. Good. She should be wary. Wary so had a habit of keeping one alive and indeed even Frost was willing to admit that others should well be wary of him in turn. There was nothing he did without purpose and yet he was hardly ashamed to admit it even when those around him looked at him with loathing. As if they could hardly believe he might admit to those very sins they themselves spent their lives pretending they had not committed. He could surely pry into the mind of the woman and find exactly what it was that had sparked her own fear and yet searching for such answers would surely ruin that guessing game he played with himself and so without the woman's knowledge. It could hardly be an ex-lover, no, not when her thoughts danced around and around some….Faerie. Something else had frightened her- but what had it been? Frost so allowing his head to tilt slightly, the man making no move to hide the gesture as he simply watched her. The girl whom had only just begun to realise she was not as safe as she believed in this city. How unfortunate. If her lover truly cared for her he’d have warned her earlier. Then again, women often refused to be told until they had seen for themselves. Frost abruptly querying her on exactly what it was she had been told about him. Her reply prompting that subtle nod as he continued to pick at that cupcake.

“Yes, very good, as long as you know that we shouldn’t have any problems then, should we?”

His gaze flickered upward once more as those final words left his lips, meeting her own as if near daring her to disagree even despite the calm, cool ease with which that sentence was offered. As if the words were hardly an almost veiled...warning of sorts. Frost seemingly content to assure Beylani knew her place, just as the rest of the staff did. It was terribly irritating, after all, to have those newer staff members attempt to stop him. How tiresome it became. No, it was far better to have them understand early just who was in charge. How pleasing it was that they had started to warn those new staff themselves. Frost’s attention shifting effortlessly toward Ellie once more as he near stole that query from her lips, the girl seeming to find some sort of thrill in his having anticipated what she might say. That query on whether or not he was a mind reader only further prompting that smirk.

He answered simply once more. That single word plainly and blatantly offered with no effort made to hide that truth in any sense, the woman only now seeming to realise that it was hardly any ability that had prompted his own guessing of her query and rather assurance that she, like so many others, would ask those same questions. Frosts hand waving lightly in that almost dismissive gesture at that apology.

“Why apologise? You were right- but yes I get asked it a lot.”

He confirmed easily all the same in those smooth, cool lyrics. That utter lack of any true emotion seeming to linger about him as he enjoyed the remains of that cupcake, that softly uttered praise for her efforts seeing the girl near beam. How easy she was to please. Like a puppy. Hmm, perhaps he had use for this one. Her assurance she could make more resulting in that near genuine look of surprise touch his features at her offer.

“I would like that, yes, thank you.”

Beylani taking that moment then to agree that Ellie surely would have made a great chef rather than a teacher before that query on his own eyes prompted that equally simple response from the man. Frost once more hardly making an effort to shield the very truth of those eyes and just how he had come to have them. Generations of controlled…..breeding would do that. Ellie, once more, seeming to take a simple delight in the idea before promptly declaring her family had only ever had blue or green eyes and that it was hardly so special. Frost meeting her gaze readily once more.

“Yes, they do run in my family. Not many people in the world have green eyes, I think that is special enough.”

That...simper of sorts seemed to find his lips then. Frost seeming to have taken an almost renewed interest in the young woman if only because her baking appealed to him. His attention returning then to Beylani as he continued to lean upon the table across from them, plucking that second cupcake from the container before asking after her work here- the woman seeming to only grow more suspicious. Yet- she answered that question all the same, assuring him she enjoyed learning new things.

“Alexander will be pleased to hear that. Tell me though, do you always tell people the things you think they want to hear?”

Such a query was hardly impolite and yet pointed all the same. His gaze resting still upon her own with that simple unwavering look, one eye lifting slightly as if he knew exactly how curious that question was and yet it was so hardly offered in any harsh manner either. As if the stallion was simply...curious. As if he was so silently cutting down that confidence she was desperately attempting to employ all the same. It was almost cute really, how hard she was trying. Perhaps he shouldn't tease her so. Alexander would be cross with him if he upset her to much and yet he was simply ensuring she knew exactly where they stood. Frost offering that near idle wondering then on whether or not he mind was solely focused on her job or rather- it tended to linger on someone else. A girl prone to daydreaming about her little crush. How...endearing. Frost chuckling softly at that flush off her cheeks, the woman boldly meeting his gaze all the same. Was that the game she wanted to play? Very well. Perhaps he should see how much he could make her blush.

“No that is not what I am implying. I was asking about….Andras…..that is the name you were thinking off, yes? I can’t say I know him. My but you do think about him a lot. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone, I am a very good secret keeper. She has such a crush, doesn't she Ellie?”

He turned back to the other woman then, a sudden smile finding his lips, Frost readily aware that Ellie surely knew of exactly this crush as well, the man offering her a nearly conspiratory look then. The stallion rather assured she could be easily swayed into teasing her companion gently and only further, subtly, offsetting that balance of power Beylani had so nobly struggled for. How he disliked her trying to meet his gaze like that, that animalistic part of him content to press right back. Frost rather determined to see how deep he could make that blush run. His voice shifted almost to a whisper then as if that very next question was a truly great secret as his gaze returned to pointedly meet her own. That odd simper still lingering.

“Have you slept with him yet?”
