    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

LET THE GREAT AXE FALL

Silence falls over them.

This he likes. There are no questions, no excuses, no nervous banter. Get the shit done. And unlike even some already in the horde, the boy does just that and more.

Azure gaze leave him as he disappears into the ground, though they return as soon as the human’s back is turned to him. Of course, the thief morphs into the crowd with ease, the throngs and crowds of people accepting for they believe he is one of their own. They trust him, no sixth sense expressing the need to fight or flee from him. It is different for the lion, for even now as he awaits the return of his fragile newfound companion, they drift from him like he carries the black plague. And maybe he does, for there is a sense of darkness that emanates from him in invisible tendrils of dark smoke, attempting to reach out and stroke the living as if to remind them how short and valuable their life really is.

A commotion breaks his thoughts, and gaze snaps through the crowd until they lock onto the now falling young gent. He catches himself, or rather his prey catches him and it is enough to draw an inquisitive smile to slide in a slither upon scarred face. It disappears, leaving a ghost of a trace as his features fall into that usual unreadable brood. The other male slides his way, his prize gleaming as he flicks it to the viking who catches, holding it up into the light, it shines.

‘make sure of that.” he says smoothly, tossing the watch to the ground and slamming a boot upon it numerous times until he is satisfied with the destruction he has placed upon such a materialistic thing. He reaches down to scoop up the remains, grasping the boy’s hand firmly before sharing his completed project with him. “we want you for bigger things than mere pocket picking and if you are late, well..” low voice trails off, sliding from the broken watch to the boy’s eyes, “let this be a reminder of possibilities to come.” he says simply, the promise ringing true in his cold eyes.

“tell me, what is your name? “ he waits to hear it and then, “i will simply call you, Hands, for that is what you will be for me, my hands..”
