    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

and if i claim to be a wise man72.168.177.180Posted On May 19, 2017 at 6:53 PM by Troy Marks

He had totally meant to surprise the man across from him so his gaze brightened expectantly when the man rose his brow and told him he neither owed him money nor did he want to sleep with him. He chuckled, fully amused already. Nothing could get him down on this night, not when he was going to be a father soon. He snorted when the man said he couldn't handle a night with him, one brow raising. He did love to banter. He leaned forward with confidence.

"Then you have only proven that you've never rolled in the sheets with the likes of me."

He winked teasingly before leaning back in his chair. As the bartender pours a glass of bourbon for the man across from him, he waved his hand for another shot of whiskey and nodded in appreciation as it was brought to him. His gaze lifted with surprise to the man when he said that he had a purpose of seeking him out then. So it wasn't just an elaborate joke to test the water and see if he was available? Guess his charms were wearing out then. Oh well. Good thing he was soon to be a married man. He tilted his head a little as if to tell the man "go on." The man offered up what he knew, Troy's jaw clenching when Sam was mentioned and how she had left town. No matter how long it took, he would probably never completely get over her but at least he had Amelia in his life now and a baby to think about. Sam may have been something to him but he never got the chance to fall for her. He would just always remember her as the girl who captured his interest and then walked away.

The man was looking at him expectantly, as if asking a question. Troy smirked, shrugging his shoulders as he took a sip of his whiskey.

"She was distraught. Her boyfriend got killed right in front of her. You know how grieving women can be, I'm sure."

His gaze averted to the table, his eyes distant as he thought about the last time he had seen her. She had been so heartbroken over her boyfriend but he remembered how she looked that day he was taking her to the pack. She almost looked happy again, like her old self. She was healing. He still didn't really get what happened. Why she decided to up and leave. His head snapped back up though when the man said that he was building another court. His brow raised in question. So he was recruiting fairies? Then he introduced himself and Troy scowled.

"Shadow Court? You know shadows resonate closely with darkness. Do you really want to toe that line?"

He didn't know if the man before him was an empathizer with dark fairies or what but he had to know these things before he made a decision. He had seen their ways and he wouldn't go down that path. He had worked too hard against it. He did wonder how the man already seemed to know his name though. Either he had spoken to someone who knew him or he had ways of getting his information. He was straight forward and to the point, Troy had to give him that. It didn't take him long at all to offer him a position in his new Court. He raised a brow in interest at the man's story of his old Court being destroyed. He didn't know how or why? Did that leave his new Court at risk for the same thing happening? After all, history not studied could be repeated so easily. He leaned forward.

"And what's to protect this newfound family from such unknown forces as before?"

At least this Andras said he didn't expect an answer right away. He definitely wasn't going to get one. Troy had others to think about now. His gaze sparked again in question when Andras mentioned his own family and he stiffened. He knew he had been talking about his soon to be father status with Dorian but who else would know? How had word gotten around so fast?

"You've done your research. Do you even know of my family consists of?"

He had to test his knowledge. After all, not many fairies would open their arms to a vampire. It was well known that fairy blood was like a drug to a vampire and though he trusted Amelia completely, he didn't expect other fairies to welcome her so quickly. This guy had some explaining to do. At least he was offering to let him ask questions because that was a definite. He had to know more, much more, before he gave any kind of decision.
