    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

Gravity was his worst enemy, his ankle near giving way beneath his weight, sending the man plummeting to the cement. He landed with a thud, the air all but knocked out of him. A soft groan left his lips, that fall re-agitating those wounds that near littered his frame prompting that blood to flow freely once again. He could see the world becoming hazy, feathering at the corner of his vision as he watched those shoes run up to him. "Henry?" That name was but a whisper on his lips before the man slipped into that unconsciousness once again - one that so quickly took a hold of him. He was entirely oblivious of the woman who had taken such an invested interest within his well being, much less the way that she had so quickly told off those paramedics and rushed his poor, torn body into surgery. He'd lost vastly more blood than what was safe. He was certainly on the fridge of life, thanks entirely to spending his evening bleeding out on the bathroom floor. That slipping towards death was a fact which he was wholly unaware of. The only thing that mattered to that boy was that his lover was safe - that he was okay and that no one else was harmed. He knew, naturally, that he himself was gravely wounded, the pain that shot through his body every moment of consciousness told him that, much less those blocks of time that he'd simply forgotten and yet, it was all irrelevant to him. At least, it would have been, had he been able to maintain a state of wakefulness for more than a few minutes at a time.

He remained unconscious throughout that surgery, unaware of all the efforts those surgeons had put into ensuring he remained in this world. In fact, the man hardly awoke until rather some many hour later. His eyebrows furrowed as the warlock found himself slowly drifting towards that wakefulness. That confusion set in near immediately, the man entirely aware of just how much his body hurt. He felt sore in places he hadn't even known he could, that discomfort enough to prompt the Sterling to slowly open his eyes. That bright sterile room was perhaps equally as confusing as that momentary lapse of awakeness outside that hospital. His bright blue eyes slowly turned towards that beeping sound, staring blankly for several moments at that machine that beeped out his heart rate. What….happened? It took him several moments to attempt to piece together the last evening he'd spent upon that boat - from finally giving himself to his boyfriend to the man shifting and that look of wildness within the cat's eyes. He vaguely remembered those hours he'd spent in the bathroom, bleeding out on that tile floor whilst listening so intently to his lover's claws raking against that door before there was nothing but silence.

Still, how did he get here? It was hardly difficult to make the connection that this was a hospital, everything about it practically screamed of that medical establishment. Slowly, he shifted, though that simple action caused pain to course through his veins. Dear god. A hissed cursed left his lips as he leaned back upon that bed, simply waiting for those sensations to dull. His bright blue eyes settled upon the young woman in the chair beside his own bed and yet, he was quite certain he hardly knew her at all. His lips pressed together in a soft frown. "Um….excuse me?" He uttered, his voice perhaps a bit raspy as he spoke to the woman. His hand reached out to gentle nudge her, even if such a simple action caused another fresh wave of pain down his spine. That touch was fleeting before the man nestled back onto that bed, his bright blue eyes intently watching the young woman as he rose her from her slumber. After all, he had questions and she, for some reason, had taken up a position in a seat that should have held his boyfriend's form instead. Where was Henry?!
