    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

The woman felt like she had been asleep for only a mere minute. Her sleep had been dreamless and she might have slept the day away in the chair had not a touch on her arm and the quiet words of the man jolt her awake. Launching to her feet, her eyes fly open in confusion as she wildly looks around at the room. Her breathing is hitched with a slight panic, briefly wondering why she was still at the hospital. Had she fallen asleep on her shift? Mortified, she’s about to race out of the room before her eyes land on the vaguely familiar boy on the bed.

Releasing a pent-up breath, the memories come rushing back to her. She had clocked out, she had helped patch this man up, she had been the one to wheel him to this room to make sure he woke up. Now that he was awake and Miya had fallen asleep on her watch, she blushes, embarrassed she hadn’t managed to stay awake. Settling back in the chair, she leans forward until her chin is resting in her hands, “You’re awake,” she croaks, the sleep not entirely gone from her body. Clearing her voice, she reaches a hand up to rub the tiredness from her eyes as she offers the man a small smile, hoping it would put him at ease.

“How are you feeling?” She asks, this time her voice is steadier. Questions race through her mind as she slowly recounts through his wounds. It was indeed like some sort of large animal attacked him. She had learned that animal attacks seemed to be common in the city of Sacrosanct, hence the reason she avoided the forest in the south part of the city. It was such a bizarre thing, Miya wasn’t entirely sure what to think of it. She had never lived in a city that had animal attacks before.

Frowning at the thoughts, she moves to stand, though her eyes do a quick sweep of his body, looking for any discomfort. Surely there would be some though she was looking for intense pain. Not finding any at the moment, she takes a step towards him, that small smile adorning her lips again, “You must be thirsty, you’ve been out for a while. Let me go get you something to drink,” she says softly and backs out of the room, closing the door softly behind her. As she moves down the hallway she calls over the nurse who helped wheel the stranger into the room, letting her know he was awake, though he seemed to be a bit confused.

She explained she would handle it for now.

The nurse seemed a bit frustrated that she was still at the hospital but didn’t argue, she knew better than to argue with Mi when she was determined to do something. Finding the closest water station, she grabs a cup of water quickly before noting the smell of coffee floating through the air. Frowning, she’s disappointed she’s not able to get a cup for herself but promised herself she would get something on the way home. Perhaps she would pick something up for Arlo as well.

Returning quickly back down the hallway, she knocks softly but enters before the stranger can respond. Slowly, she moves towards him and sets the cup on the stand next to him before she sits back in her chair. “What’s your name?” she asks quietly, though there is genuine concern dancing in her eyes, “My name’s Mi.”
