    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

She wasn’t sure how she was going to hide her secret much longer. The only way she would be able to was to lock herself away in her mansion and never come back out until the child was born. But would that really keep her secret safe? And what would happen when the child was born? What would happen when he or she began to grow? There were so many uncertainties and although Amelia was trying to protect the baby she was beginning to love, she wasn’t sure how long she would be able to keep up the rouse.

She softened her gaze when he asked her to try not to yell too much at Troy. She knew he was right. Troy was simply excited to be a new father. This was his first baby and it was something he should be excited about. In fact, she should be excited as well. Unfortunately, she was far too scared to be that excited. “It is his first child, I’m sure he’s just excited.” But no matter how excited they might both be, they needed to be careful. Amelia did not want their excitement to turn to mourning if something were to happen to their baby.

He suggested she stay at home if she wanted to protect her secret and she sighed. She knew he was right, but she couldn’t imagine being cooped up for however long she still had in her pregnancy. “I know I ought to stay home, but there is so much to do in so little amount of time. I try to stay home as often as I can.” She probably could make a greater effort. She knew that Troy would want her to stay home safe. He was always looking out for her in that way and it made her heart flutter in her chest.

As he opened the door for her, she slowly stepped into the store, listening as he followed closely behind her. She walked up to the counter and was greeted by a very pleasant human woman. “I’m here picking up some items for last name Marks.” She waited for the woman to find the items she had put under Troy’s name. “Oh yes, here they are! I just need you to sign this form and I’ll have one of the guys in the back help you load the items.” Amelia smiled sweetly at the young woman as she signed on the dotted line. She took the papers and filed them away before she picked up the phone and called to the back to have them bring up the items. “My friend, here, has kindly offered to load the items to my car if you could just have them brought to the sidewalk, we’ll worry about loading them.”
