    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

Miya had been far too distracted as of late. She found difficulty in burying herself in her studies and even a double shift at the hospital could barely get her mind off of the information Arlo had given her. No matter how exhausted she made herself during the day, the small Asian woman could not quite fall asleep at night. She would lay awake at night, listening to Arlo rummaging through the house on the nights he decided to stay in. She hadn’t talked to him since the night he showed her how fast he healed, she wasn’t exactly avoiding him… she was just busy. Who was she kidding? She was absolutely avoiding him! Miya merely needed time to come around and grasp the situation at hand. No matter how many lore books she found, it seemed more myth than real; honestly, she just needed to force herself to sit down and talk with him. Her mind made up, she steeled herself with her decision just as she steps out into the street.

The shouting of a man barely grabs her attention but she’s too far in the street for him to grab her. The honking of a car horn and screeching of tires has her stumbling back quickly, square into a woman dressed as Tinkerbell. Miya has to pause her apologies as her gaze drifts towards the dark-haired man, ramming his knee into the car and shouting at the driver in another language. Flushing with embarrassment, she notices the driver is entirely scared out of his mind and as the stranger releases the man, he speeds away quickly, as if afraid the dark-haired man would chase after him and pull him from his vehicle. Finishing her apology, she mumbles quietly, grasping her messenger bag firmly with one hand in shyness just as the stranger wanders over to them, asking if she was okay. Giving a small nod, her chocolate gaze traveling to the sidewalk, she turns a bit to the woman as she tells Miya she had nothing to apologize for. “Thank you for that,” she responds to the blonde-haired woman.

Turning back to the man she gives another dip of her head, “Thanks for trying and grab me, I wasn’t paying attention,” she murmurs to the man, blinking up at him with wide eyes, a bit of terror still lingering in her eyes though it’s quickly dissipating. “I think you scared that man half to death,” she says, her voice holding a small shake to it, though a faint smile begins to stretch across her lips. “Normally I would have said you didn’t need to do that, but I really think he deserved that,” Miya states, sniffing in disdain as she glances down the street where the man drove off. Releasing her hand from her messenger bag, she returns her gaze to the blonde, noticing the costume she so wore.

Honestly, the small Asian woman had forgotten it was Halloween, “I like your costume,” she smiles at the stranger, “Oh, I’m Miya,” she introduces herself, holding her hand out to the blonde first and then to the man. Once she’s finished, she shoves her cold fingers back into her jacket pocket, nestling her nose into her scarf once more to ward off the chill, “Can I buy you guys a drink or something for thanks?” she asks, her chocolate eyes darting first from the handsome man to the curly blonde-haired woman.
