    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

dance to the rhythm of your heartbeat

Knowing perfectly well how distractions could prove to bring about unexpected occurrences or perhaps even sudden bursts or forgetfulness, the blue-eyed blonde could entirely understand how the barely avoided disaster could have been the result of such a thing. She had her own fair share of distracting thoughts as of late, there was definitely no denying this obvious fact embodied by the missing brightly colored flyer she truly wished she would have remembered to grab before leaving her Riverdale apartment. That was what she got for allowing that dark fae man to occupy more than what was necessary of her thoughts, but it was a little difficult to simply excuse him entirely from her mind. There was so much that she still had yet to know about the man, and then when she thinks back on what she'd learned about this city from the afternoon tea party she'd also coincidently encounter Andras at, there was hardly a moment where Beylani wasn't lost in her own wild flurry of thoughts and countless questions she yearned for the answers to. Suddenly, with the he jostling of that remembrance, baby blue eyes study the Asian woman for. moment, wondering if somewhere beneath those long and elegant black locks there were pointed ears or if perhaps she was sometginf altogether different that Beylani had yet to come across. Was she a were? A vampire? She couldn't see pointed teeth from behind those lips that offer a gentle yet embarrassed smile, so she felt confident enough to rule that one out... But what about the other possibilities? The she moves her gaze over to the man, noticing nothing unusual about his fit and rather handsome physique. She looks to his ears for a moment and perhaps some part of her was almost a little disappointed that they were not pointed. As silly as it might seem, the young woman was becoming increasingly fond of the fae race, but she was still in the process of convincing herself it had nothing to do with the fae man that her thoughts tended to drift towards ever since she met him in Hyde Park that night.

Remembering well those words of warning that both Andras and her dear friend Dorian had offered her, she decides then that she would simply need to trust that the sweet air of the Asian woman that had stumbled into her and the quick action on part of the accented man - though perhaps not the kindest but all with a more than fair reason to have lashed out as he did - that neither of them were any sort of threat to her. How else would she come to make friends in this concrete jungle if she allowed for this newfound and undeniably shocking new reality to make her hesitant in that friendly willingness to give those around her that benefit of the doubt? Besides, neither the woman. nor the man hardly seemed like they were out looking for trouble or anything. And so, after only reaffirming her certainties that these two strangers soon to be acquaintances and potentially new friends were only out possibly enjoying Halloween how they so desired, she shoves away those thoughts of weres, witches, and hunter away and offers the individuals before her a warm and radiant smile. There was already far too much suspicion and distrust in the world as it was, the blue-eyed blonde was determined not to be among those wary people. The world they lived in now just seemed so much more guarded, so reluctant. That was perhaps one of the biggest things that she found herself missing. In Willowhaven, everyone treated everyone else with warmth and kindness for the most part. Love thy neighbor, that was the sort of community that she had grown up in and so it was really only natural that Beylani was so warm and eager to befriend those she would come to meet, whether by accident or not though this particular situation surely fell under the "accident" category. More often than not though, it was always those unintentional encounters that proved to be the best and the most memorable...

When the Asian woman turns to Beylani, giving her a small nod as her softly spoken words usher a gentle thanks, the blue-eyed blonde simply smiles warmly to her. She was a little shy, or so it seemed to Beylani but then again she could also see that the petite woman was also still a bit shaken over the whole ordeal. She didn't blame the woman though, not in the least, entirely certain that if she would have been in the Asian woman's shoes she would have also struggled just as much if not more to collect herself again. All it would have taken was for the man that joined them to be one moment too late and the woman could have been seriously hurt. Despite the young woman not yet even knowing a name that the Asian woman, Beylani never wanted to see anyone get hurt. She watches the exchange between the two strangers now, intrigue glittering only fleetingly as keen eyes observed the man whose gaze seemed to linger a little longer than what might be considered necessary on the Asian woman but she keeps this curiosity to herself, though if she didn't know any better she was almost willing to think that he was taken by her. Beylani could completely understand why though, the woman was quite beautiful with those ebony locks that cascaded over slender shoulders and down to her small waist, those big and gentle earthen eyes warming as she overcame that initial fright from moments ago. It was interesting, watching the two of them as they interacted, that subtle curiosity observing them until the voice of the other woman pulls her away from these things she had noticed. She gives a nod of agreement as she speaks of how the driver had deserved the less than kind actions on behalf of the man standing with them as the crowd continued to churn around them as if nothing had happened. It was bewildering to think that sometginf like that was such a common occurrence that hardly anyone stopped to make sure the woman was alright except Beylani and the man - though the blonde woman had hardly had a choice in the matter, certainly not about to let her fall and hit the cement of the paved sidewalk.

Beylani smiles brightly to the woman again as this time she seems to notice the tinkerbell costume that she was dressed in, only just beginning to feel the chill of the evening though she was rather used to it."Thank you, it was the one on display at the costume store so I thought 'why not?', though perhaps I should have picked something a little warmer", she replies brightly, a gentle and small note of laughter finding her voice. The Asian woman then goes on to introduce herself and Beylani happily reaches out to shake the woman's hand."It's nice to meet you. I'm Beylani, but you can call me Lani of you'd like", she responds in turn. It is now that the man seems to suddenly notice the blonde woman and greets her as well though first offering an apology from having not noticed her at first."No worries, Ludo. I'm alright, thank you for asking. It's nice to meet you as well", she offers him a warm smile as well though her attention is then averted back to Miya who is now offering to buy drinks as a thanks. She is about to reply to Miya but it was Ludo who seems content to agree to the Asian woman's offer. Well, there was nothing wrong with a little side adventure from her true destination right? Somehow she finds them both looking at her and she grows a little sheepish when she realizes that they were both likely to be at least twenty-one, and she was a week shy of legal drinking age."I appreciate the offer Miya, but I'm not quite twenty-one yet. Next week I will be, though", she answers truthfully just before Ludo makes the suggestion that they should probably not be standing around outside and she nods in agreement when she sees that Miya looked like she was getting a little colder."I was actually headed to the party being held at The Witchery. Once I figure out where it is exactly", she mentions with a tinge of embarrassment at her admittance of being lost somewhere in the northern parts of Sacrosanct."We could always go there? I'm sure they'll have drinks there?", she suggests to her two new companions, unsure of exactly how they might see her knowing that she was still technically a minor in the eyes of the law and making the even more apparent that she didn't have a fake ID on her person. She was never much of a rebel like her past friends had been.
