    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

He had always been a rebellious kid growing up. His dad worked a lot but his mom always worried about him. He was known for staying out late, no matter how early they made his curfew. His mom eventually got tired of telling him he was grounded and it was like she started feeling sorry for him, willing to cover his ass so his dad didn't lay into him. He just wasn't a rule follower. Maybe that was why he'd dropped out of school in the tenth grade and never showed interest in pursuing college, even though his dad had tried to get him to go back and get his GED. School was a waste of time when there was a world full of experiences just waiting. He spent most of his time on the street, racing around on his huffy bike and finding new adventures to spend his time on. He didn't have many friends and most of them didn't know where he was half the time even if his parents asked. He kept to himself and didn't confide in anyone. The only person he felt he could trust was his own mom. Sure, he had his crushes in school but every girl he liked was way out of his league. Katherine Deegle was the prettiest girl in school. She was a cheerleader, blonde hair, blue eyes, every boy's dream.

He didn't get his chance with her until after he'd dropped out of school and finished fixing up the Harley with his dad, the one thing they were able to finish together. He took her on a couple dates and even slept with her but he found out quickly she wasn't the dream he was looking for. She was fake, predictable, all the things he couldn't stand. In the end, he'd kicked her to the curb and went on to search for something different, something new. Then he came to Sacrosanct and his hero complex kicked in pretty quickly. When he saw a woman in danger, he never hesitated to step forward. It was just how he was. He knew they were being stared at but he wasn't going to give the guy the satisfaction of his gaze either. He noted the way Kat looked over her shoulder only once, her face showing only distaste when she turned back around. His eyes gleamed with amusement. At least here, she was safe. He wasn't about to let that bastard get his hands near her again.

He let her know that he kept an open mind about alcohol and she laughed, a musical sound, saying she was glad she wasn't the only one. He raised a brow as she blinked, not sure if it was meant to be something else or not but then she leaned in, telling him she would keep his potty mouth a secret if he did hers. He nodded, noting that she held up her pinky so he grinned and encircled it with his own pinky. "Deal. Or should I say, pinky promise?" He chuckled. She explained that her granddad owned a distillery and he tilted his head. "How are you not a chronic drunk? I don't think I'd ever leave." He smirked lightly before letting her know that she didn't owe him anything. She answered back with a coy smile and assured him she didn't cause she bought him a drink. He chuckled, lifting the drink in question. "Touche. That, you did." He promptly emptied the glass before turning toward her as she asked him to talk about himself. He was never good at that but he could try, at least to keep her company until the creeps left or she got bored with him.

He exhaled. "Whew, you're not one to jump right into the deep stuff, are you?" He asked with a sarcastic gleam in his eyes. He leaned back on the bar. "I came from a small town just west of here, Salt Springs. I needed to get away...well, a fresh start never hurts. Bad memories and all that jazz. Cheating ex, daddy issues, the usual." He smiled lightly before nudging his head. "What about you? What's your story?"
