    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Oh how well Alexander knew of their shared weakness - their refusal to fail, to be told no. The history books were all too keen to point out this fault within the ancient conqueror and to the historians that wrote them. It was a point Alexander contested by simply pointing at that the only failure within the entirety of his campaign was perhaps his own death. In that, scarely a soul could disagree and so, Alexander continued the length of the enternity of his existence with the full knowledge of his "flaw" and the manner it which it had so served him well. He saw in the steed perhaps the same fault and yet, it was perhaps that which had so intrigued the man in the first place, despite the forcefulness in which the draft had employed to rope him into this fiasco. It was perhaps such lingering thoughts that surely prompted Alexander's own words of assurance that, despite all their tensions, he hardly wanted to see Frost fail in any regards to their tasks. He doubted that the steed would find any sort of truth or appreciation in such a sentence and yet, Alexander knew well that one day, he might come to know the genuine sincerity to those words. One day. Thankfully, Alexander had all the time in the world.

Alexander failed to respond to those words pressed within his head, the man instead embedding himself as tightly as he could in a cocoon of blankets and the warmth the thick material managed to provide him. It was hardly enough to be deemed comfortable by any means and yet, he was entirely unable to die due to the temperatures and so, Alexander merely curled in on himself, letting sleep take him for several hours. The Dark Hunter certainly wasn't awake when Frost had returned from his adventure just in before the sun peeked over the horizon - the man responding only with a grunt at the sound of his name. The words muttered to him, however were hardly even truly comprehended before Alexander grumbled if only to get Frost to shut up and let him return to his dreams, "Go to sleep." It wasn't long at all before the Dark Hunter was once again lost to to that sleep, his form relaxing ever so slightly the moment Frost joined him under the blankets if only for the additional body heat that Frost's form provided him with.He was hardly aware of the way his form shifted closer towards that source of warmth.

It was the rather loud cursing that woke him up the next morning, his eyes fluttering open with some level of grogginess still clutching at him. He was aware of the sudden coldness that invaded his side and for a moment he rolled over, his blue-green gaze landing upon the retreating form of Frost as he burst out of the tent. A yawn touched Alexander's lips and slowly the Dark Hunter followed, hardly concerned on what had so aggravated the were-creature in the first place. After all, it wasn't particularly rare fo the man to be in a sour mood as it was. Nevertheless, Alexander followed soon afterwards before beginning to repack their supplies back on the draft horse in the same manner he'd retrieved it. Fitting everything back in the same place was important, as too was distributing the weight evenly. There was something about distracting himself with such mundane tasks that put Alexander at ease before, soon enough, he was ready to depart this rather unfriendly town. The man paused at Frost's side, map pulled out and GPS unit in hand as he regained his bearings - searching for the mountain path he'd been directed to take. "Hm….that way." Alexander pointed after a moment of careful consideration, gesturing towards the looming mountains in the distance. "We should be able to hit the base by nightfall." He stated, folding the map back up and placing it and the GPS unit back into his pocket before the man hoisted himself back upon the spine of his companion.
