    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

Business had been relatively slow recently which had its pros and cons. On one hand, any business was supposed to make profit in order to stay open and with slow sales meant a dip into said profits. On the other hand, being less busy meant Ceara had more time on her hands to spend away than working within the bar. She had taken quite a bit of the downtime to take a vacation…a much needed vacation. Since coming to Sacrosanct a few years back she hadn’t left and had begun to feel restless as a result. The catalyst to the traveling decision was a very familiar yet long ago absent scent of a certain vampire found lingering around outside her establishment. The scent drew a worry within the woman that had Ceara packing her bags and off within a fortnight. Tonight was her first night back and found herself actually enjoying it; she had somehow missed it. The scent that had caused her to flee was decidedly absent which had eased Ceara’s nerves.

Ceara had shuffled through the pile of paperwork that had accumulated over the last few days, ensuring that everything was ordered for the next week, before making her way out of her office into the main lounge bar area. Her attention lingered over the different customers there from the young boys who obviously lived off their trust fund to the regulars hunched over their drinks in their business suits griping to each other about ‘The Man’. She slid behind the counter, handing the bartender his check which he dutifully slid the envelope into his back pocket. “Thank you.” He nodded before returning to wiping down the glasses. Ceara offered a simper of a smile before commenting, “If it dwindles down later we can close early tonight. I could use the quiet after-”

Well she would never get to finish that train of thought. Her name reached her ears and the very sound caused her already unbeating heart to chill. Those amber eyes darted over to the source and she felt very much like she was in a dream seeing something that shouldn’t have possibly been there. “…Anna-Marie.” Ceara breathed out, immediately glancing around to her customers to ensure they were all still alive. Other than a few who appeared to be a little unbalanced from her shoving they were all well enough alive that Ceara left the bar to approach the child…and man. Ceara raised a brow in curiosity at the man whom Anna clutched to. He wasn’t human, his pallor and scent told the woman that much. “That’s…nice.” Really, how else was she supposed to answer Anna’s explanation of the man. What had he done to become ensnared in the child’s spider-web? By Anna’s flickering gaze Ceara could tell her attention span was waning from the conversation at hand and looking to her surroundings for entertainment.

The last thing that Ceara needed making business worse was a bored Anna finding entertainment in the customers. “Anna,” She gathered the girl’s attention, “Yolan is upstairs. If you tell him I sent you then he’ll play tea party with you.” Gratefully the child took the offer and released Sebastian’s hand, though not without hesitation, before skipping off down the hallway that led to the set of stairs that would take her upstairs. Once Anna was gone did Ceara return her attention with both scrutiny and curiosity to the strange man. “So you’re her new playmate then? What dotted line did you sign without reading the fine print?...Drink? You look like you could use it.” She motioned to the bar.
