    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

Even though Anna had not lived within Sacrosanct for very long she had become accustomed to it, attaching to its familiarity to the point that leaving caused fear to stir within her. Anna’s wide eyes focused solely on her progeny as he attempted to make sense of the situation he was presented with. She had no knowledge of his true reasoning for taking her away from Sacrosanct. There were plenty of toy stores and even a professional antique doll maker store in the city so she didn’t understand why they were on the edge of town. Sebastian’s singular thread to work with was their connection which was limited at best meaning he had to search for something else to coax the child from her spot. It was lucky perhaps that Sebastian had the power to manipulate or else they would have been there for a very long time indeed…or Anna wouldn’t have left the car without kicking and screaming involved.

The subtle shift in her own chemistry caused Anna to pause, her brows wrinkling in understanding that her wavering emotion was not her own. Her small fingers twitched against the leather interior of the car, seeking out Sebastian’s essence, fully intending to lash back at him since he was clearly the cause for her wavering. Her own affinity tightened laced Sebastian, tightening about his muscles for her own control. However, the calming manipulation of Sebastian’s power worked faster on her small body than his usual victims, ebbing away the fear and even her want to punish him faster than she could fully react with her own power. Anna’s fingers unfurled and ever so slowly released the hold she had on him as she felt the tether that connected her to him tighten. Her body visibly relaxed as she slowly slid across the seats to take his offered hand. “Ok…” She whispered as she allowed Sebastian to guide her from the back of the car. When Anna was safely from the car Yoland nodded in acknowledgement to Sebastian before driving away leaving the pair to figure things out from there.

Anna remained holding onto Sebastian’s hand, pressing her side against his as his power dictated she remain close to him. Their species’ keen eyesight allowed the child to see a black car zip across the nearby lane to a jet stationed out on the runway. “…I don’t like planes.” Anna glanced up to Sebastian. “They don’t look right. They’re big and fly and….it doesn’t work.” It defied every logical sense considering she was from a time that hadn’t even invented the car yet. The child fidgeted in unease though it was a near immediate calm the moment it touched her system from Sebastian’s power coaxing her to grip tighter at his hand. It was a constant tense and release, her pupils dilating then relaxing with emotions from a power not usually meant for a child and attempting to process in parts of the brain not even developed yet.
