    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

Where you invest your love, you invest your life; 192.206.23.249Posted On March 16, 2017 at 12:58 PM by DAREIOS

It's not the long walk home that will change this heart, but the welcome I receive after the restart.

The vampire had little time to sit back and reflect on this very much unplanned but surprisingly pleasant intrusion. There was a mystery to this fae king that intrigued Dareios, and he would be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying this haphazard rendezvous that the two had embarked on. It was wildly uncharacteristic of Darieos to veer from his daily agenda. He was a busy man. This job came with responsibilities that were greater than this personal life. But Dareios was also a workaholic, so it was easy to lose track of any needs or desires outside of his three distinct professional personas anyway. Needless to say, the vampire was enjoying this "no pressure" evening with Dorian very much.

Dareios is equally intrigued by the fact that Dorian has taken up a lover that is a vampire. While there was no real history of feuding between the two very opposite species, it was rare to find them intermixed. Fairy blood was a delectable treat for any vampire. Dareios should know -- it was a chronic top seller and always among his highest priced items he sold. Nevertheless when Dareios lingered too long on Dorian's sickeningly sweet smell, he could feel himself salivating. It had been many years since he'd last fed off a fae. While the experience was dazzling and almost too pleasurable at times, Dareios had no plans to do so again anytime soon. The fact that Dorian had found a vampire with such staunched self control in the city of Sacrosanct was uplifting.

"Unfortunately I don't know anyone by that name." He said curtly, his thin lips pulling tight into a semi-awkward smirk for just a second. Perhaps that was for the best anyway.

After the fan girl had finally left them alone, and the stares from those sitting in nearby tables began to wane, Dareios finally began to relax a little. He slumped a little further into his chair. He felt a tightening in his gut which reminded him just how hungry he really was. He flashed Dorian a toothy grin when he suggested he invest in a hoodie for privacy. "I'm not sure how well that'd go over in the press." Dareios commented with a laugh. "Being a vampire and the mayor is difficult enough."

It was as if the fae king had read his mind when he posed his next question. The vampire's thick dark eyebrows furrowed as he considered it, and luckily for him, the waiter returned to their table before he had to answer. Dareios flips an open palm toward Dorian to invite him to order first. When it's his turn, he orders a modest glass of mammal blood, a mixture of bear and wolf that seems strange but appealing at the same time. The vampire had routinely looked over the section of the menu that offered human blood.

Once the waiter disappeared Dareios looked back to Dorian, noticing he still seemed intent on hearing an answer to the earlier question.

"Yes, the job has been difficult. And yes, I'd say it's more difficult because I am a vampire." He said stiffly. "There are many people in this city who don't like me. But then again, there are many who do and who voted for me. It's those I think of when the job is particularly challenging."
