    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

we stopped checking for monsters under our beds,

when we realized they were inside of us all along.

How quiet the world seems, as if waiting patiently to witness a show of grand proportions. It doesn’t have to wait long this night. A rumble breaks through the silence, subtle at first until rising into a low, powerful growl. He is brooding, as usual. It is from within the shadows that a massive paw exposes itself to the moonlight, talons gleaming. The shadows snicker in delight at his return, bouncing from their homes and clinging to his mud colored pelt, making him appear almost black and invisible save for those piercing crystals that blow his cover.

Voices reach his perked ears that are practically hidden behind his gloriously thick mane. These are not the only voices the king hears this eve. They linger within his thoughts, threatening to flood his consciousness once again and cause an episode of unleashed anguish and fury. For now the voices lay dormant, small whispers of disapproval desperate for bloodshed but sedated from his most recent of kills. For now, the demons that lurk inside are under control.

For now.

He has another thirst that needs tending to. A groan slides from his powerful jaws as body begins to twist in the shadows. Bones creak with the shift, tendons groaning with effort as muscles seem to whine. It is not age that plagues the male, it is wear and tear. Scars litter his muscled flesh as steam rises from him. His body has seen years and years of battle, and it seems each and every time the viking only becomes more crazed than the last, leaving him almost desperate for death and fearless of his enemies.

You want to torture the blood king?
Keep him alive.

He moves to the side where he originally left his clothing and axe, covered by dried leaves and debris. Once clothed, those shoulders roll but he remains outside the voo doo room for now. A drink sounds nice but the voices within have already begun to annoy him. Deal with the voices in the bar to drown out the ones in his mind or deal with the ones in his mind and simply go home to sleep.

Decisions, decisions.
