    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

Malek Ackerman

You're my water. You're my wine.

That distrust that so coats the young man’s face simply amuses the vampire greatly, his hands folded neatly behind his back as he inspects the boy before him. Smart vampire to be wary, their species tended to act first and ask questions later; Malek had enough death in his lifetime to last for an eternity, he didn’t care to be the hands of death once more, so instead – he tilts his head – his long locks ruffled in the breeze, as he regards the boy in front of him. Oh, how he adamantly refused he didn’t like men. Chuckling to himself, he calls forth that power again, only enough to stroke that lust in Arlo. Not as much as he initially used, but enough for the vampire to notice and feel attracted once more to the ancient in front of him.

“Now, now, perhaps we should continue where we left off then,” he states, his lyrics rumbling in his chest as he takes a threatening step forward. Truly, Arlo had no idea what Malek was capable of, nor the lengths he would go to ensure that this young vampire knew he would follow through with whatever he started. Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to force himself onto the boy. He was so young. But still, that dangerous smile plays on his lips as he leans forward slightly, mere inches away from Arlo now. “Don’t underestimate me,” his lyrics are quiet, his breath hot against Arlo’s skin. And then suddenly, he’s pulling away, resuming his casual position, eyes bright with amusement, hands folded behind him yet again.

Malek was delighted to see an interest in those young vampire’s eyes; perhaps there was still hope for him. He doesn’t push it, not wanting to discourage the man from trying something new. When Arlo pushes back his hood, he takes the sight of him in. He was even turned young. Whoever changed this boy was truly heartless or perhaps there was no other choice, though Malek doesn’t comment on it. He simply notes the suspicion dancing through Arlo’s features, waiting for the man to decide whether he should run or continue this interesting conversation. It was one that Mal wasn’t entirely aware he was going to have tonight, though it changed up his routine immensely. He found he didn’t mind.

He questioned Arlo as to why he hunts vampires and though he had an inkling of why he might hunt his own kind, he was curious to hear his explanation. It had been centuries since he had met a vampire who fed off of their own kind, not only for sport but also because they couldn’t drink the blood of a human. Still, Malek’s features remain altogether pleasant even as Arlo battles within himself for an answer. Amusement instantly replaces that casual look, his lips quirking up in a grin as Arlo teases him about his age. Gesturing with a hand, he chuckles lightly, “Believe it or not but I’ve only met one other vampire besides you since I’ve lived here. As for chess… I find it rather dull. I much prefer to drink. Its rather hard to find someone of my age anyhow,” he muses, that simper still lingering.

“There’s not a lot of people my age left,” he states simply. And it was true. Most people found themselves at a short existence because they were too foolish. However, Malek is pleased by the smile threatening to break across Arlo’s features. He seemed to be relaxing at last. Patiently, Malek waits as Arlo finishes his tirade about killing puppies and pandas. Why on earth did Arlo care if he killed a panda was beyond the vampire, but he still waits, an easy smile gracing his lips. “We can hunt deer if you would like, I much prefer bunnies,” he quirked a grin. It was true, the blood of a rabbit was so rich and delectable it was Malek’s go to. Gesturing a hand down the alleyway, he leads the way.

“Let’s go, there’s a small park nearby that tends to offer smaller prey,” he calls casually over his shoulder as he strolls through the darkness. It didn’t take them long to reach the edge of the park, the small area abandoned in the depths of the night. Malek stops and turns back to the vampire, pleased he followed him, he wouldn’t be surprised to watch the man flee the first moment he got. Instead, he waves his arm in a wide ark at the greenery behind him, “Squirrels, rabbits, birds – no deer though, we will start small tonight,” he states patiently allowing Arlo to take it in. “Well, let’s see that trick of yours again.”

You're my whiskey. From time to time.
