    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

Her first waves of questions has Miyako falling into a sudden silence, not an uncomfortable silence, the woman simply just ponders the questions and how best to answer them. She’s still thinking about those questions when Malia asks if she could wield a knife or a gun, this has the petite Asian woman eyeing the girl from the corner of her eye, arching a slender brow in question. “Well… no,” she answers a bit quietly. Perhaps there was far more to this stranger than Mi had originally thought! “I would rather not harm someone,” Miyako states with a sort of finality, the human could never imagine hurting someone with her own hands! Shaking her head at the thought, her eyes widen slightly in horror at the thought of causing harm to anyone; be it someone good or a criminal.

When they finally reach the warmth of the store, Miyako begins to browse the racks of clothes; Malia in tow. The Asian woman continuously glanced over her shoulder watching the girl caress the fabrics in her hand. It was as if she had never seen a clothing store! Returning her attention back to the jeans in hand, her brows furrow at the thought. If Malia was interested in meeting her again after this strange congregation, perhaps she would ask the girl to meet Henry. Sighing silently, she retrieved the clothing and shoves it into Malia’s hand, a bright smile adorning her features. “Here, these should fit,” she states as she ushers the girl into the changing room.

Folding her arms across her chest, she stands just outside the door, lest Malia need anything, and ponders her questions from earlier. Reaching up, she taps her chin repeatedly as she racks her brain for how to best answer the girl. “In a perfect world, we would be able to take what we needed and give back what we don’t need anymore, it would be simple,” she trails off releasing a small sigh, “People are greedy though and they want money more than they want to see the world flourish,” she muses quietly just as Malia exits the dressing room.

Miyako does a quick once over noting how well these clothes fit compared to the ones she previously owned. Giving a small smile, Mi gives a nod of appreciation as she unfolds her arms. She’s just about to make her way towards the girl when Malia asks how she pays for them. As hard as she tries, the petite Asian woman can’t help but release a small laugh at the question; though warning bells peel in her head at the notion that Malia had to fight from clothing. Perhaps, she came from a hell-hole. Shaking her head, a simper gracing her lips, her eyes soften at the strange girl, “You don’t need to worry about that, I’ll take care of it. Consider it a gift since I spilled my coffee on you,” she offers an apologetic smile as she strides past Malia into the room, gathering the old clothes in her arms, she folds them neatly and slips them into her bag to wash them for the girl.

“We still need to get you a jacket, it’s still cold out!” Mi calls from the room just as she exits and makes her way to a nearby rack of coats. Shuffling through the fabrics, her fingers brush a leather material and she pulls it out to display it to Malia. It seemed… fitting for the wild girl. Turning, Miyako grins at her again, “What do you think? I think this would look lovely on you! Here, try it on,” Mi demands, shoving the leather coat into Malia’s hands giving her a moment to try the jacket in. “Are you hungry yet? I owe you a sandwich,” Mi states just as the worker walks up, a rather fake smile adorning her features as she asks how they were doing.

Mi gives her a curt nod, “We’re fine, we will take everything she’s wearing,” she states in an almost stern manner, her frame relaxing as the girl walks away to begin ringing in their purchases. “So, Malia, what do you think?” Miyako asks, her attention entirely focused on the girl again.
