Dorian AragonaHis Royal Highness

The entire situation the was now so presented with was, largely, wholly baffling to the Monarch. He hardly understood the nature of the relationship of the child to his own lover, nor as to why the girl seemed to believe Sebastian her own or why a mere child seemed to be the cause of such distress. Sebastian, surely, was by far the more physically powerful of the pair, why he did not simply remove the girl Dorian hardly knew and yet, he supposed, the nature of those affinities could be decidedly peculiar. It was possible the girl possessed some power that afforded Sebastian caution and- with his own knowledge upon the young woman limited only to a vague understanding of her somewhat petulant character Dorian had so decided that in this it was far wiser to follow his lovers metaphorical lead. Sebastian sharply correcting the girl as Dorian came to stand beside him and yet there was a distinct note of care placed into that title of ‘guest’ one Dorian had readily picked up upon and so noted. If guest was how he was to be described then so be it. He himself had kept the nature of his relationship with the man from the child as well. A prudent choice, it seemed.

It was only after Anna-Marie’s version of events had been offered that Dorian so moved to add his own, the Fae King affording Sebastian a far more descriptive tale of just exactly what had occurred this evening while he had been out before alluding to this notion of moving in the girl seemed to possess. Anna-Marie taking that moment to hold up her doll, even praising his efforts in it’s creation slightly. Dorian forcing a smile to his lips as he afforded her a gracious nod. Sebastian, as he had perhaps anticipated, seeming decidedly put out by the idea of her continued presence in turn. Dorian finding himself almost relieved at the notion. Sebastian’s refusal in this perhaps steeling his own resolve all the more and yet the Monarch simply remained silent as that conversation continued, this talk of an orange woman and finding this vampire whom apparently fed on other vampires relatively lost upon the Italian.

Just whom Crishlyn was remained to be seen, Dorian frowning slightly at the idea of a woman being taken by Hunters before the situation in which he presently found himself begin to plummet rather dramatically, the little vampire suddenly becoming irate as she recalled a series of events Dorian held no knowledge of at all. The girl determinedly informing his lover of a party and going away somewhere and a present, Dorian hardly afforded any moment to contemplate the conversation before Sebastian was suddenly flung away from him. The shock of it alone saw his gaze widen, a soft sound of surprise emitted from him, Dorian already moving to step towards him if only to make sure the man was alright before he suddenly found himself unable to move at all! Once more the Fae was given truly little time to comprehend the situation, his limbs suddenly buckling beneath him quite out of his control until he found himself upon his knees before the child. This perhaps the first time in….centuries the man had felt that true spark of fear. The girl-child’s words were almost lost upon him entirely, Dorian attempting to get up, this a far more vulnerable position then he enjoyed as his heart quickened within his chest. The girl starting to yell that she would kill him if Sebastian dared move before threatening to have his lover do it himself. It was wholly curious that in that moment of entirely tumultuous thought and distinct panic that Dorian so found Samantha’s earlier words made a sudden and complete sense. She had spoken of a child whom had commanded Sebastian, of his lover so carrying out those commands against his will- that realisation and too the girls assurance that she had made him so seeming to strike Dorian solidly now.

How on earth Sebastian had so fallen into vampirism at the hands of a child he hardly knew and too just what this bond between them so entailed beyond apparent subservience to the Maker Dorian could not guess at and indeed was ill inclined to test in this moment. This was something that they would surely need discuss at a better time. The Fae so unable to prevent that very distinct note of dislike that settled within him for this insolent, petulant child that was the source of so much grief in Sebastian life. He hated her for Sebastian in that moment. For each and every misery she might have ever brought upon that man he adored. Dorian struck with the sheer and shocking potency of that disdain. He was not often inclined to show those more possessive feelings that he knew readily existed when it came to his lover and yet here and now he willingly embraced them. The Monarch inclined to admit he felt wholly and ungentlemanly territorial over Sebastian in the wake of Anna-Marie’s words, his lips so pulling into a thin, firm line as that fear was replaced with another emotion entirely. God how he disliked her- for what she had done, for what she was doing, for daring to say Sebastian was hers! He had not, in nearly five centuries, so desired to end a creature nearly as much as he desired to end this girl and yet- somehow- the Monarch retained that fortitude that had perhaps come to define him in a sense. This situation did not need bloodshed- even despite his disdain for the girl. Dorian abruptly calling upon his oldest of affinities.

It had hardly escaped the notice of the Fae that the girls fingers so seemed to reach for something in those moments she sought to exact her power, whatever it was he hardly knew and yet to manipulate a body that body, by design, must surely have an essence of sorts to latch onto. Dorian abruptly disappearing from sight entirely- shattering her control over him in the same moment. After all, if he had no corporeal body- so to speak, she surely had nothing to ‘hold’ in any sense. Dorian so reappearing a moment later and upon his feet now. The Monarch perhaps one of those few beings in all the city so seemingly resistant to her power, that veil held close once more lest she attempt to harm him again.

“Please do not do that again. I dislike that. You are a guest in this house, you should remember your manners.”

His gaze shifted but briefly to Sebastian, his head bobbed ever so slightly to assure the vampire he was entirely well before his attention returned to Anna-Marie and in a perhaps startling move, the Monarch so suddenly crouched down before her now, allowing her to meet his gaze, careful to keep each movement whole non-threatening. That fury he felt towards her so carefully concealed as each movement maintained that calm serenity in which he did most things. He held truly little experience with children and yet he saw few alternatives other than simply distracting her from her anger and calming those fears.

“I do not want to take your Sebastian away from you. He is yours, I understand that. There is no need for you to be cross. We are friends and if you would like, I would like to be your friend too. Didn’t we have fun tonight? Don’t you want me to make you more dolls or dresses? I would not be very good at that if I was dead. Come now, this is enough. Sebastian is not going anywhere. You look very tired, Anna-Marie. Shall we take you home to bed?”

Each word was entirely gentle and indeed almost friendly despite those emotions that turned within him and how untrue the words were. Dorian instead appealing to her childishness now, attempting to redirect her thoughts rather then fight back against them and yet he was so hardly inclined to trust merely his persuasion skills in this. Dorian so having taken that moment to latch onto her as she had tried to do with him. The Fae so silently and yet effectively draining the girl of her energy with every passing second. His power silent and unfelt as it worked upon her. Drawing every bit of energy from her frame, weakening her, exhausting her until the idea of summoning any of her powers was surely too much, until surely all she desired to do was lie down and sleep. The Monarch careful to assure this hardly triggered her hunger. The man instead stealing from her that very life she had fed on tonight until the night weighed heavily upon her and he himself was only gaining power with every second- another of his affinities held at the ready should she make any attempt to command her surely sluggish limbs to attack. If he need render her unconscious then so be it yet, surely, she would simply feel that utter exhaustion and retire peacefully to her own home. The Fae King a veritable ‘hidden’ vampire in every sense of the word. Seeking to drain that already stolen life from her with each passing second.
