Sebastian Ellingtonfor pleasure seldom has a cure

It was not often, truly, that Sebastian decided to show the world that largely emotional side of the vampire. So often he presented society with this smooth facade of cool, suave confidence, his interest pruly in his hunger and those more carnal desires. It was perhaps not surprising that the sheer mention of those few who were truly close to him were the only souls capable of coaxing those softer, well hidden sides of the man. William was one such topic that so thoroughly distressed the vampire, if only for that simple fact that the man had once promised him he would be there for him for an eternity before he simply went up and left altogether. His thoughts had turned decidedly dismal and yet, he supposed it could have been possible that those people he had been so terrified of had finally found him...even so...William had been so insistent that he'd stay no matter what that Sebastian could hardly help the hurt that echoed within his heart. All the same, the vampire still found himself attempting to reassure the woman his best friend had taken such an interest within, near promising the girl that she was hardly as alone as she thought she was.

He understood the sentiment that so struck her, the notion that if she was alone, she was less responsible for her actions. If less people cared then she had to fret over them less. Hell, the vampire himself had invested the majority of his life in this very notion. Still, he knew first hand it was never fully effective. "People will always care for some reason or another, no matter how abrasive or unlikeable you attempt to make yourself be...there will always be someoneā€¦" He uttered softly, leaning against the mare's gate as he so eyed that ivory mare. It was with that in mind that Sebastian finally admitted his own lover's fondness for her, despite that decidedly prickly exterior she seemed so keen to present to the world at large. His gaze slowly followed the woman as she made her way further into the stable, settling near him only to eye that mare who seemed all too content to merely ignore them now that she had been returned to her stall. It was that mention of the fae King himself that drew Sebastian's gaze to the woman at his side. "Neither have I." He mused softly before commenting, "That man is of stronger conviction than anyone I've ever known and still such a good heart after everything to." The vampire's head shook from side to side, as if he truly had little notion of how he'd wound up dating someone whom he found so utterly astounding.

Sebastian certainly didn't anticipate the girl's insistence that he was in anyway unique, the notion alone caused a snort to audibly leave his nose as his gaze turned back towards the female horse before them. "Hardly, darling. I'm your typical playboy just trying to forget." He stated simply, entirely self aware of those actions he so often engaged within - at least, before Dorian. Now, the fae King had entirely become his world. His attention shifted towards the young woman at his side as she so admitted that she'd considered killing him on her way here, that simple admittance caused his eyebrows to furrow ever so slightly. Frankly, he doubted the woman was capable of killing him, she was far too reckless and he had been through far worse in the near two hundred years. Even more so, Sebastian was fairly certain that saving her life surely should have outdone any blood he so took from her. For a long moment, Sebastian simply stared at her, his eyebrows furrowed before he shook his head ever so slightly. "You may hate me Vhalla and you are fully within your right to do so but you should not confuse the truth with some perceived slight that originates from your dislike of me. I did not cause you to bleed in the first place, child. Still, as petulant as you are, perhaps you wish to die. Perhaps you are merely angry I stole your death from you." He stated in a contemplative fashion, hardly anticipating an answer in the least as his gaze traced the silhouette of those horses. "Either way, that night was not worth my life in return. You have yet to learn when to stay your blades and when to brandish them. For one so utterly fragile...you jump so eagerly at every chance to provoke violence." There was a somber tone to his voice as he so spoke of her mortality, of her pointlessly reckless nature and yet, mentally, the vampire made the note not to take the effort to save her again, should such an 'again' ever occur.

His elbow leaned upon the wooden gate, his cheek gingerly resting against his palm and yet, given that sudden shift of the conversation, Sebastian was left so considering his own death - a death he was certain he surely deserved, though not from taking her blood that evening when they had both been in such a desperate moment of need. How he had wished he'd died that evening on those bloodied cobblestones in London - and how that woman beside him so utterly wasted that gift of life she'd been so given. Still, he had made a promise to Dorian, a promise to live at the man's side for an eternity and even she would not keep him from fulfilling that. He would far sooner rip that beating heart from her chest before he allowed her to take his own life. Even so, he could hardly help that lingering sigh that dwelled dismally upon his lips as his thoughts shifted from one drastic topic to the next. It was only the sound of that whistle that interrupted the vampire's train of thoughts, his blue eyes shifted from that ivory mare to her starkly contrasted ebony companion. "Dorian named him Nikolai." He answered simply enough, watched the woman as she eyed the creature. It was that inquiry of alcohol, however, that saw him pause, his head bobbing ever so slightly. He watched her move, the vampire himself only shifting at that rather impatient tone to her voice. Mortals - they were always in a such a rush. "What's your poison?" He inquired, stepping out of that barn only to close the door behind her, entirely content to lead the way back towards that large mansion.
