he was both everything you could ever want
and nothing you could ever have

Despite the haze that so afflicted the undead man, there was something undeniably breathtaking of the sight of Dorian's features pulled into such a warm grin - a smile that was surely meant for him alone. He could hardly deny how such a decidedly simple thing made him feel, prompting a weak simper upon his own features, even as he found himself muttering softly of how he'd much rather feast upon the blood that ran through his lover's veins then the tea in cup beside him. Those urges only further prompted by that simple brush of Dorian's fingers against his forehead. That insistence that he would surely enjoy his tea was met with the softest of sighs and yet, sluggishly, the vampire was willing enough to obey. He gathered that tea cup into his hands, raising it to his lips to so sip upon the beverage within, that hint of blood certainly brought a rather unique sweet taste to that otherwise comfort of that English Breakfast tea. That singular word fell so softly from his lips as he finally glanced upwards at the fae with a clear hint of surprise. How he had drawn that blood from his own flowing veins without prompting some sort of wound as he so often did. Those answers, however, came but moments later, as if his lover was so capable of understanding those subtle curiosities he simply often failed to ask after.

His eyebrow rose ever so slightly at the suggestion that not only had Elizabeth advanced enough within her studies to so draw blood from others but that she had been so easily able to convince Dorian to partake in such an event, particularly when he vaguely remembered how utterly terrifying the mere concept of vaccinations had once been to the man. "She is certainly getting along nicely. " The vampire commented in a soft appraisal of the girl. He had little doubt she would become the Doctor she so desired to be yet, his attention turned inquisitively back towards the Monarch himself. "I'm surprised you let her near you with a syringe." He admitted with a bemused simper, "Though, I think I do prefer biting you myself...you make such wonderful noises." There was an almost mischievous hint to his blue eyes as Sebastian so watched his companion, still sipping upon that tea. It hardly took long before he was aware of that shift within his body, the vampire somehow able to simply feel the way he so came to life beneath the careful guidance of his lover's affinity.

Sebastian was hardly surprised, really, by those inquiries that so fell from the Monarch's lips. Dorian was ever the epitome of analytical, the man near scientific in those inquiring investigations. In fact, the vampire suspected there were far more questions so set adrift within his thoughts then what the fae ever truly asked, even if the Englishman so often strove to be nothing but open to each question that so distracted his lover. This one hardly perturbed the man in the slightest, his head shaking ever so briefly. "You need not apologize, ma Biche." He reassured the fae quite quickly, that simper still toying with his features. "To answer your question, no, I do not. Blood loses it's appeal, and the taste looses it's flavor. I don't feel nearly as….predatory." He admitted after a moment, his lips pressing together slightly in consideration, "I suspect too, I would not heal with the same ease I normally do. You quite effectively take away all of those perks of being a vampire." Sebastian added though he truly seemed unbothered by this realization in the slightest. After all, it was perhaps no secret he preferred life then that death he was so cursed with.

Regardless, the vampire was hardly inclined to dwell terribly long on that depressingly temporary hint of life he'd been given, his hand instead moving towards his lover's neck as he leaned forward, his lips entirely holding that same warmth of life as they brushed against the fae King's in a small display of his affection for the man. A warm simper settled upon his features at the return of those simple words so celebrating the truly monumental moment within their relationship - their very first anniversary of hopefully many more to come. The vampire leaned back against that headboard, placing the now empty tea cup beside him as his gaze turned back towards his lover. A near inquisitive glimpse was given towards the King at that look the man so regarded him with, after all, Sebastian himself was wholly oblivious to those near subtle changes of his appearance that so returned him to the man he once as. Rather, he inquired ever so softly as to whether or not the Monarch was so looking forward to that day upon the beach, the vampire attempting to become accustom with the idea of what was surely to come, even if it made him entirely nervous to consider.

He hardly expected the way Dorian so abruptly shifted, moving to instead straddle the vampire. His lips pressed altogether feverishly against the fae's own, the man tugging his lover's body against his still bare chest, so relishing in that simple contact before Dorian pulled away from him ever so slightly. It was that notion of getting up however, that drew a groan from Sebastian's lips, even if the vampire slowly pulled himself from the warmth of those sheets to trail after the King. It hardly took long to find that newly acquired swimsuit, the Englishman so slipping it up his frame to rest against his hips. A white cotton t-shirt was pulled from one of those hangers, that shirt alone far more casual than anything Sebastian ever wore on the regular and yet - the beach was hardly the place for those oxfords he so often chose. His hands ran through his hair, wrestling those locks into something at least presentable before he took those offered pair of sunglasses from the fae Monarch. He glanced up at his lover as the man began to speak, his eyebrows furrowing but briefly as the man went over their plan for the day. It was rare, truly, when the specifics of their evenings were not either arranged by the vampire himself or, at the very least, paid for. Sebastian was wholly aware of the efforts his lover had clearly gone through during those hours he'd spent asleep, even if he was oblivious that his own worries were the origins of that decidedly forward planning on the Monarch's part.

"Yes…" He uttered softly after one final glimpse within the mirror Dorian stood before, "I'm ready." He insisted, attempting to provide the monarch with a simper despite the way the knowledge of what was going to come surely made his heart nearly flip flop in that ever present anxiety he held over the sun and her harsh rays. His fingers fit within his lover's own, allowing the fae to lead the way down those stairs and towards that door - the only remaining barrier he had to that sunlight. He was fairly certain his heart was beating far too loudly within his chest as they neared those front doors, the vampire had nearly forgotten what it was like to have a heart that beat upon it's own accord. He took a slow breath, steadying himself before, quite unexpectedly, Elizabeth so intervened, near thrusting them a bottle. His bright blue eyes blinked in a small display of confusion before his lover made an effort to so explain his intentions behind that sunscreen. Sebastian had, in truth, not considered how his skin might so react to that sudden weight of light. He nodded in agreement, "I'll put it on in the car, don't worry." Sunscreen was hardly his greatest concern and yet, he saw little reason to not indulge the King in this.

That soft squeeze of his hand drew his gaze upwards towards his lover, the man attempting to offer yet another glimpse of reassurance that he was okay. After all, he trusted the King, did he not? A soft breath left his lips once again before he tentatively stepped into that sunlight, joining his companion upon that doorstep. It was entirely terrifying, that first moment within the sun when he so innately anticipated his skin to burst into flames, the Englishman entirely apprehensive of this even as they stepped down those steps and towards the car that so awaited them.
