he was both everything you could ever want
and nothing you could ever have

There were times in which the Englishman failed to remember the sheer count of decades that had passed by his companion's silver hued irises. The world had turned itself over in more times then even he could count in his comparably young age. Though his youth had consisted entirely of that epitome of genteel women his age was so known for, the vampire had found that he simply fit in with several habits of that far more modern era. Hunting was never the conundrum it was during those first few years of his undead life simply because of how utterly forward the women of this age tended to be. Coaxing them into his arms came with a distinct ease that he rather enjoyed. There was little doubt within his mind that he very well could have had that young blonde that had bounced so eagerly towards them -- but that was a far different life than the one he now led. It was a world he hardly truly craved to return to. Rather, Sebastian had found a sort of happiness that his world of continual bachelorism had been simply missing. Even so, he could hardly help the laughter from bubbling upon his lips as the man he so utterly adored missed the young blonde entirely, much less the manner in which that ball so firmly collided into one her male team members.

Though Dorian seemed quite content to usher him onwards, as if the event never happened at all, Sebastian was not nearly as keen to so forget that display of his lover's strength. Naturally, he'd known, to some degree, of his lover's strength, having been on the receiving end of when that passion so got away from the man in the depths of their more sensual encounters. However, even he could find some admiration to those biceps, "Oh, come now, it wasn't an awful throw. With some practice you might actually be good at the game." He commented, quite clearly teasing the Monarch all the same. Still, it was the woman herself that Dorian seemed content to so direct their conversation to and, in turn, Sebastian was willing enough to be the subject of his lover's display of flirtation. That touch was far too fleeting for his own preference, even if the vampire had been on the receiving end of such caresses for near a week straight now. He found himself entirely insatiable when it came to Italy's King. Then again, he suspected that Dorian knew just as well how he had so become the very center of Sebastian's world.

In spite of those touches, however, it was that simple comment of how utterly effective such brushes had been on that fateful evening they had met that caused a rather unexpected truth to fall from his lips. The things he would have so endured that evening for the man whom he'd chosen to want! The things he still would have done for Dorian alone. That curious glimpse that crossed the Monarch's features was hardly unobserved by the attentive vampire, though he'd hardly expected the inquiry that fell from Dorian's lips. A small frown graced his features as he considered that answer, unsure if he should truly admit the truth. Surely it did not matter now, did it? After all, Sebastian had chosen Dorian above all others. He reached up, running his fingers lightly through those dirty blond locks. "You...reminded me of someone I'd met the week prior. He was a fae too." It was the first time Sebastian had considered Darien in some time, the man had once been of intense interest to the vampire though those days had long since passed. A small simper crossed his features in the wake of that truth, the man so inclined to direct the conversation to far lighter topics. "You were certainly the most handsome though, and none of the fae I'd met before you were entirely….willing to let me have more than a taste." Dorian had been entirely entrancing within his own right, of that Sebastian could not deny. He was, after all, still wholly mesmerized by the fellow.

It was, however, the sight of that circular shell like creature that made the vampire suddenly pause within his steps, the man bending down to delicately pluck that sand dollar from the depths of those shores, briefly brushing it off before handing it to his lover. His brightly colored eyes watched as Dorian's fingers delicately traced the star like shape in the center. A small shrug crossed his shoulders at the inquiry, "I don't know. We always just thought they were like seashells. They just show up on the shores." He'd never quite considered how those shapes were made or why, at least, not till now. Still, any further consideration on the topic was interrupted by the sudden presence of a child. That soft near whisper of the girl's voice produced a warm simper upon his features, his eyes drifting upwards towards his lover. Sebastian watched as his boyfriend so delicately handed off the shell towards the altogether ecstatic child. Sebastian watched as that little girl ran off to add hew newest addition to that pile of haphazardly built sand. "You're utterly adorable." He commented softly, a warm simper upon his features as he leaned over to delicately press his lips against Dorian's cheek in a display of affection. His fingers folded against the Monarch's as they continued down that brightly lit beach.

His gaze shifted from that shore and back towards the man at his side as the Monarch so begun to speak of an evening a few nights ago when the King had, momentarily, left the vampire to deal with a crises at one of those mines that so held the Ellington family name. In truth, he'd hardly noticed his lover had actually left the house until some time later and yet, he had seen no need to pry as to what Dorian had so distracted himself with. His head bobbed ever so slightly to confirm he did indeed remember this evening and that he too remembered the fae his boyfriend had spoken of on the rare occassion. It was that singular word 'pregnant' that so caused him to abruptly stop within his path, his eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly. "What?" He inquired, his gaze entirely intent upon the man in that moment. After all, he knew well of his race's ability to re-populate. It was non-existent, of that he was entirely sure. "That's...that's not possible, are you sure you heard him correctly, ma Biche?" Procreation, after all, went against their very fabric of being. They were walking corpses, the risen dead, zombies in their own peculiar way. They could not sustain life because they did not have a life to live in the first place. At least, such was what Sebastian had been taught. Still, he was rather certain he had never impregnated anyone, though, he supposed he never stuck around before enough to find out for certain. Still, it was certainly….curious...to say the very least. Still, in spite of his own disbelief, Sebastian was well enough aware of that fact Dorian had so lingered upon - the state of their marriage. "I fear this has become a norm of sorts. Marriage is no longer a necessity…." His voice trailed off as he offered the King the slightest of shrugs. He supposed, truly, that this miracle of sorts hardly mattered in the end. After all, even if his kind could have children, such was still a route closed to him if only by pure choice. He had little intentions of ever leaving the King's side, that simple resignation so saw him step just a hair closer towards the Monarch so that his shoulder brushed gently against Dorian's own. No, in the end, it really hardly mattered at all.
