Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

he was both everything you could ever want
and nothing you could ever have

A look of exasperation crossed the vampire’s features as his fingers flicked over the touchscreen of that phone, moving through the missed calls and text messages he’d received regarding the Prince and returning to England. It was a call he was willing to ignore for several hours longer. After all, as far as they knew, the vampire was still wholly dead and he had little intention of letting a simple retirement distract him from that anniversary celebration with the Monarch he so adored. He nestled comfortably against that leather material of those seats, the vampire finding some ease within the back of that vehicle as he so commented on how it really was about time for that royal announcement all the same. That inquiry on whether or not it was required of them to send a gift, however, saw the vampire pause, his eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly. "He’s only retiring from any public affairs, he is still the Prince and I think would still receive us as guests for tea." He answered easily enough and yet, it was that notion of a gift that so had him momentarily stumped. "I...am not sure...if we have to send something. King Edward was our only Monarch to ever abdicate. The bloody plot went mad as a bag of ferrets and retired to marry this divorcee. I told her to denounce her intentions to marry him but she refused." A soft huff left his lips, even after all those years, the affair still greatly annoyed him. "England herself was not pleased with his decision, I doubt he ever received many retirement or marriage gifts at all."

In the wake of those royal engagements of his own Queen, the vampire was altogether inclined to simply disregard the matter entirely, tossing that cell phone back upon the leather before his head found the shoulder of the man at his side, a soft yawn settling on his lips as he found himself simply relaxing into the fae King. There was something entirely comforting of that moment, one that saw a small simper cross the vampire’s features as he so enjoyed that relatively short ride to the Witchery. It was only once that vehicle began to slow to a stop upon the curb of that hotel that the man shifted, picking up that cell phone before plucking that key from Charles’ hand. That reassurance that their clothes were already within their room only caused the man to nod ever so slightly, a simple word of thanks offered to the manservant before he stepped from that car, leading his companion into that botique hotel he’d once made his home. There was a decidedly strong sense of deja vu in that simple moment with the way that receptionist greeted them and Dorian following in tow and yet, Sebastian found he rather enjoyed that reminiscing upon that fateful evening that had so drawn the pair of men together.

He moved down those hallways with ease, remembering well exactly which turns to take as he ignored those doors he past. It baffled him, truly, that Dorian had wandered in the daylight hours for near an hour to find his way home whilst the vampire had simply been dead to the world. He’d suggested that the fae King should have just stayed for next evening as well, though he perhaps had little doubt he would not have enjoyed the fae’s company the following night all the same. Still, he admitted all the same that he had been uninclined to allow the maids to replace those sheets with newer, fresher smelling ones. He had relished in that scent that so personified of his lover - that very subtle smell had become a scent of home for him, one that brought him ease now even if he had been unaware of it at the time nearly a year prior. He was aware of that warm smile that crossed Dorian’s features, even as he paused in front of that door that led to the room they had shared. It wasn’t often that Sebastian actually spoke of those affections he held for the man, particularly not of those past evenings that they had spent together. Rather, he was vastly more inclined to show his love for the fae, assured that such an unspoken language would be understood by the man in the way that he too so understood the meaning behind those simple gestures Dorian did for him.

It was, however, that mention of sleeping upon that fea woman’s floor that prompted a small frown upon his features. Sebastian disliked the idea of his lover forced to sleep in such a place that was not only entirely uncomfortable but also so terribly far beneath his status as King that it was nearly an insult. Still, he hardly voiced a comment on how difficult that sleeping arrangement must have been. After all, though he had been infatuated with the fae, Sebastian doubted even he would have opened up his room for Dorian for such an extended length of time. He had been without any such commitment for so long that he knew himself enough to suspect he hardly would have helped had he known the truth of it. Rather, Sebastian merely slid that keycard into that more modern lock, opening that door for Dorian as he gestured inside for his lover. Very little of that room had changed since that night, the decor itself remaining wholly the same - just as he had anticipated it might be. He watched as Dorian moved across that room towards that sofa chair he’d once deposited his own clothing upon that simple action of Dorian’s fingers brushing against that cloth fabric brought a small smile upon his own features.

His gaze turned upwards towards his lover as the man spoke so fondly of that evening, that gentle tease served to bring that small simper into a full fledged grin as he stepped closer towards the fae, his hands settling upon Dorian’s hips. "Just might have been wrong?" He inquired, a certainly mischievous glint to those clear blue eyes. "Perhaps I’ll simply have to remind you again of how wrong you were." He uttered softly, fully willing to rise to the occasion in more ways than one. His lips eagerly pressed against Dorian’s own, that kiss surely holding the suggestion of where he so intended to take their evening. After all, what was revisiting that bedroom of that one night stand if that physical affection was missing? Still, he allowed the fae to pull away from him ever so slightly, his hands still settled upon the man’s hips, unwilling to let him go entirely from his grasp. His bright blue eyes followed Dorian’s own towards that suitcase tucked into the corner. His eyebrows rose ever so slightly at that suggestion of a present and yet, that suggestion of that evening they had ‘read the mail’, as Dorian had so put it, only served to bring a chuckle to Sebastian’s lips. "I quite enjoyed that mail…" He commented, remembering well that sight of his lover that he was unlikely to ever truly forget.

Those thoughts of the mail and those more physical activities, however, were entirely willing to wait in the wake of that suggestion of a shower, the thought of that warm heat and getting that chilled, still damp fabric off of his frame sounded almost heavenly. “I would not object.” He uttered, his lips but briefly pressing against Dorian’s own before his hands left his lover’s waist, pulling that sodden cotton shirt from his toned physique and over his head. He turned from the man in that moment, entering the attached bathroom only to deposit that article of clothing upon the tiled floor. He reached over towards that crystalline knob for the shower, turning it so that a near waterfall of heat poured from that shower head. That steam near rolled off of the water. How he couldn’t wait to be nestled within that heat! He slid those board shorts from his waist, letting them too fall unceremoniously upon the ground before he moved towards that doorframe, his gaze settling upon Dorian and that progress he had made in his own undressing. Behind him, the mirror was already beginning to fog. "Do you need help?" Sebastian inquired, his tone holding a surely mischievous hint to those British words.
