The idea of just what to do in the case of a retirement, it seemed, was equally baffling to the both of them. This a social situation in which even Dorian had never quite found himself required to react. Just how they should go about it all but lost on him. After all, did an outgoing Monarch require some sort of congratulatory gift for such a long reign- at least by mortal standards? Would it be some sort of social slight not to provide something? Perhaps even a simple card? Sebastian’s assurance that the retiring man would surely still receive them for tea was met with a subtle nod and yet how to progress beyond that was a mystery. Perhaps he might have Benito merely send some sort of card on behalf of them both and Italy in turn. Dorian given little time to consider it further as the vampire beside him spoke of a King Edward whom had so apparently chosen to abdicate that throne….with a bag of ferrets…..to marry a divorced woman whom had failed to listen to Sebastian’s advice and denounce her intentions to marry him. Dorian frowning slightly at this tale. For a King to denounce a throne to marry a commoner with no title at all and a woman divorced at that was quite the scandal. The world, it seemed, was often willing to forgive divorced men and remove that taint and yet a woman was another matter entirely. At least- within his time. It was more respectable to be a widow rather than a divorcee! A woman with no virtue, after all, was considered damaged goods. Dorian intrigued with the tale all the same. One day perhaps, he might surely ask Sebastian to tell him more of those tales from England and its courts.

“I suppose if he intended to abdicate it is less scandalous- but only just. For a King to behave like that would be shameful to his family.”

Even he, a veritable bastard son, had been considered above marrying a woman of such tainted status. Dorian assured such a match was unfortunate for both of them. This Edward fellow would never again hold the respect of his people or family and she in turn, an already tainted woman, would be seen as the one whom had tempted a King away from his duties. It could not possibly have ended well. The Monarch very near about to inquire as to the end of that tale before Sebastian’s head rested softly upon his shoulder. That warm simper touching his features and silencing those thoughts, leaving Dorian instead to consider how endearing it was in some sense, to see his lover afflicted with that simple touch of tiredness that came from his living frame. That trip to the hotel was hardly long, the Fae so caught within the grips of that déjà vu in turn as Sebastian led the way into that building and through those winding halls he had once believed the man owned entirely. Dorian taking a moment to speak about how lost he had been that morning he had left. The Fae having wandered for over an hour before at last finding the remains of that smouldering bar that had eventually allowed him to find his way home and back to a truly disgruntled Samantha whom had all but shouted at him about recklessness and vampires and all manner of other things. Dorian’s own thoughts having been far too taken with memories of Sebastian himself to even truly find annoyance in the woman. That gentle admittance from the vampire that he had kept those sheets for near a week after he had left so stirring that warm flutter within his chest- even after all this time.

The room was so exactly has he recalled it to be. From those chairs and fireplace to the lamps and bed with its silken sheets- the sort he had adored against his bare skin that night and indeed intended to enjoy again. The Fae’s fingers reaching for that cloth chair to let his fingers dance across that soft fabric in simple appreciation for those memories of their very first time within this room all those months ago. Dorian offering just those memories aloud then, that faintest hint of a tease within his words at the mention that he might have been wrong about his lovers skill between those sheets that first time they had met, Sebastian’s hands coming to rest upon his hips with the assurance that perhaps he needed reminding. That simper finding its way to his own lips before they moved to press to his Consorts own in that ardent, hungry kiss that held within it every bit of intention for their evening. Dorian pulling back only just so as to gesture briefly to his own bag, entirely willing to allow Sebastian’s warm hands to remain just where they were on his hips at the mention of that gift of sorts he had for the man. The vampires assurance he had enjoyed reading the mail met with a ready chuckle.

“I suppose it is fortunate that we have boxes more of it. We shall have to…read a lot.”

That impish simper had hardly faltered, those particularly chosen words laced with that ready tease once more before the Monarch so suggested that shower. There was, after all, something decidedly unpleasant about that damp, cold clothing and the presence of sand still coating their skin. Dorian wholly determined to take care of that before any further matters for the evening might so be taken care of in turn. Sebastian’s lips pressed to his own once more before the vampire stepped away, pulling that sodden cotton shirt off over his head, Dorian’s own attempts at unbuttoning but briefly halted in some appreciation for that toned physique he had enjoyed so many times and yet was assured he still craved. His fingers continuing down now, loosening that last button just as Sebastian’s voice found him once more, his silver gaze glancing upward toward the bathroom and that glorious steam that was already beginning to fog at the mirror with the promise of heat. The Monarch shrugging out of his own shirt then- draping it over that sofa in turn- his gaze entirely content to linger on Sebastian’s fit figure leaning within the doorway and entirely free of clothing. That grin playing upon his lips. The man looking momentarily thoughtful, fingers lifting to fiddle idly with that coin from the vampire that hung from his neck and against his bare chest.

“You know, I think I do need help. A great deal of it. The manner of removing pants has suddenly become lost to me.”

It was surely hardly the answer Sebastian had anticipated and yet the man was assured his lover would move to act upon it all the same, Dorian crossing those few strides to the bathroom, his arms so effortlessly wrapping about his boyfriends neck to draw the man to him. Ah, but that feel of his chest against his lovers own was glorious! A soft sound of simple appreciation stirred from within his own throat before his lips rather greedily found the vampires own. Dorian pressing back against him now, moving him but that stride or two past the shower only to press the vampire entirely against the wall. That kiss deepened all the more, Dorian so daring to draw Sebastian’s lower lip between his own, his teeth pressed softly upon it before drawing just slightly away as he felt Sebastian’s fingers at the hem of his board shorts. Dorian shifting but slightly to assist in letting them fall to the ground.

“I have a question.”

His words were little more than a murmur, one hand lifting too gently tilt Sebastian’s head to the side. Dorian’s lips finding his neck then in that fashion he knew the vampire seemed to adore the most. The Fae having become well acquainted with just where and how his lover seemed to enjoy such touches best before leaning away again.

“Do these touches feel any different- with your body like this? I am curious. I think we should test it, after our shower.”

After all, he knew well of that increased sensitivity blood seemed to afford his lover, Dorian wholly curious as to whether that fully-fledged life might be an increase once more- his lips pressing a final time to Sebastian’s own before the Monarch abruptly moved away, leaving his lover against the wall as he turned, that impish simper still entirely in place as he strode those few paces to step into that glorious shower, letting that hot water fall so blissfully against his skin. A groan of satisfaction falling from his lips in appreciation of that heat, letting it run over his head, one hand lifting to sweep that water from his eyes. His words entirely teasing now, if not wholly satisfied in having pinched that shower from the vampire.

“It was thoughtful of you, Mon Cher, to prepare my shower for me. You should try it, it is glorious.”
