    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

if these wings could fly for the rest of our lives
Slowly, Abigail had begun to settle into that lifestyle she'd found within that bustling metropolis. The world, which had once been awe inspiring and overwhelming, had slowly settled into something just vaguely familiar for the girl. She spent the weekdays busying herself with her classes, focusing on getting those grades that her father so desired to see, even if he never truly commented on them all the same. Though she was a dutiful daughter, there was still a special amount of time she reserved for what she was certain her father would call "less than savory" activities. Personally, she hardly thought her vampire friend was in anyway unpleasant. Sure, he was a bit unorthodox, and maybe he did some things that were borderline criminal...okay they flat out were criminal but...well….she liked him. A lot. Even if she had no idea why and even if her efforts to defend his character certainly might have fallen flat if regarded under any true inspection. But she really really really liked him. And so, Fridays had become Arlo nights. She wasn't even sure, really, if he had noticed that pattern, after all, she often did show up in his apartment on those particularly rough days or lonely days when she needed a friend, though he might not have realized that either, come to think of it...THE POINT WAS that there was a regularity of sorts to her appearances and tonight was their night.

She knew that path by heart, even as she waddled down that concrete sidewalk. One step, two step, one step, two step. Her presence as an exotic animal rarely went unnoticed, though she'd learned well by now which streets to avoid or which apartments to move faster in front of. Like that one! That one had the doberman that barked at her that she was assured one day was going to jump that chain link fence and eat her. BARK BAR BARK. That's what he sounded like all the time. Then there was that little boy that lived in that apartment complex over there that would come running if he saw her out his window and tried on several occasions to make her his pet. He wasn't the only one who'd tried before but he tried the most often. Then there was that grumpy Dark Hunter in the building near Arlo's that always scowled at her and watched her with such intensity that she was sure if she took one misstep, he'd hunt her down like Calliel said they did. She was rather certain he just needed a friend but she'd yet to attempt to test this theory. She had considered bringing him the leftover cupcakes from Alexis' birthday party but...she'd forgotten. Oops. Maybe next time she'd make cookies just for him. Maybe he'd like her better if she went to him as a human and introduced herself….or maybe he'd try to heat her like that doggie always did. Either way, it was that same path she took tonight, avoiding all those obstacles before the little panda turned down that familiar alleyway to waddle with a hint of growing excitement in her step towards that fire escape.

She couldn't help those butterflies at the knowledge of seeing that man soon, those little hops from rung to rung perhaps a bit more enthusiastic for that simple fact alone. WAIT A SECOND. WHAT WAS THAT SOUND? She paused mid step, her head shifted ever so slightly as her hazel eyes scanned the -- OH THERE YOU ARE! Her Arlo was waiting for her! Waiting! For her! An enthusiastic bark left her lips in return as she pivoted upon that metal landing beneath her to make her way back towards that edge. The outstretching of those arms was the only indication Abigail needed. LEAP OF FAITH! She jumped. With utmost trust. Like, the most trust ever. And quite estatically Abigail landed into his arms - well, more like she flopped but she tried. Those two words that left his lips were met with a soft chip, the touch of his fingers caused the young girl to purr in her own elation. It was a happy day and she was a happy panda! The girl rubbed into his hand, pushing herself against his chest in an all too pleased fashion - at least, till he stopped. Her ears twitched as she glanced up at him, that voice immediately rewarding the man with the entirety of her attention. Her ears twitched ever so slightly as he spoke of checking out a new place, her head tilted inquisitively to the side.

Abigail could hardly help the way in which her mouth parted in glee at that invitation to join him, barking quite readily at him before her claws reached out to help lift her frame up his chest and onto those shoulder she so often took perch upon. She paused at his cheek, her head butting lightly into his as she nuzzled him in a fashion most feline. The action was decidedly short lived before she moved to curl around his neck, fully prepared for this evening's adventure. Frankly, Abigail was rather curious what sort of job he was going to do - much less what he liked to do. She certainly never would have said no!
