if these wings could fly for the rest of our lives
Abigail had never been in a bar before. That small village upon the edge of that mountain had exactly one bar and even then, it was hardly a real bar in any traditional sense. It was inside a super swanky hotel all the tourists stayed at so it was pretty tame by bar standards. This bar though, this one was something else entirely. This one was all shiny and clean and kind of super duper perfect. It was pretty. She wanted to walk on the bar. And they were going to have music?! It was so exciting! She bet it would be pretty swell when it finally opened tonight, would they stick around for that? Would there be people?! What were they going to do?! Okay, it was pretty certain that Abigail was near gaping at the world in which Arlo had taken her into. It was just so utterly different than any place she'd ever experienced. The hotel of her childhood home was nice, that's for sure but she'd never actually been inside of it either. Her hazel eyes intently turned towards Arlo's friend, eying him with a measure of curiosity even as he assured the vampire that she was a health hazard. She'd heard the term before and really, the girl understood though before she could even react her beloved vampire was so quickly rising to the occasion in an effort to defend her presence. A soft sort of chirp left her lips as he head bobbed, trying to assure the man that she really would be good!

Thankfully, he seemed put out enough that arguing was the least of his concerns tonight and soon enough they were ushered back behind the bar and into a large room with….well, lots and lots of stuff. Frankly, Abigail wasn't even sure what some of this stuff was! There was that big black box thingie over there and some more of there and oh! Were those drums?! She'd never seen drums in real life before! Sure she'd seen them in picture books and online and stuff but this was all REALLY REALLY REAL. Oh this was exciting. Wasn't this exciting? Wait - why was Arlo not excited? A bark of encouragement so left her lips when the pair were finally left to their own devices, and eagerly the girl leapt from his shoulder, landing with a rather uncoordinated and abrupt thud onto an amp. Her figure wobbled slightly before she regained her balance, glancing up at him expectantly. She heard that rather large sigh that left his lips and slowly, her head tilted to the side in a clear display of curiosity. Another softer, more tentative bark left her lips, this one carefully pitched to almost sound….inquisitive, if that was truly possible. He seemed far more attentive to his job, however, and soon enough Abigail found herself and that amp she sat on lifted in the air.

A chirp left her lips in her glee, the girl entirely unable to hide her elation as Arlo moved them from one side of the room to the other. The moment that Amp touched the ground the girl leaped from the top of it, dashing back across to the other side of the room to hope expectantly upon the one she deemed next. Her hazel gaze followed him, her tail twitching from side to side in excitement only to have the fellow instead wander towards a mic stand. She watched as he begun to unravel those wires and yet, it was lost upon her why he seemed so utterly disgruntled of their tasks for tonight. She watched him for several moments longer, considering assisting before all the shiny circle drum thingies caught her attention. What were they again? She hopped onto the drum set's little stool, sending it spinning dangerously for a moment. The young girl jumped off and onto that 'tom' drum, her presence upon it making a loud thud sound. That leap from the stool, however, sent the object careening into one of the other drums, the object falling with a crash. The girl winced, glancing guiltily towards her companion. Oops? She didn't mean it! Really!

Abigail watched as he came closer towards her, chirping at the man's presence as he picked that drum up and placed it back into it's proper position. What she didn't expect, however, was his reaction to the presence of that piano at it's side. That whistle caused her small ears to flick ever so slightly. He seemed to take an increased appreciation for those musical instruments, far more of an adoration than she had expected and yet, Abigail was happy to see him so delighted. Truly, he needed an instrument of his own. Maybe if she saved up super much she could him one. That'd be a great present right? Hey! Sorry I lied to you like our entire friendship but here's this musical instrument so you'll forgive me right? This sounded like a great idea. This was totally feasible! With a renewed plan, she attentively turned towards the man as he flicked that power on, her legs flailed ever so slightly as she was suddenly lifted before being placed precariously on the edge. She sniffed that keyboard inquisitively, her small nose wiggling only for her attention to shift at Arlo's voice.

Tentatively, a single paw reached out to press that key that was so deemed as hers, a glimpse of surprise crossed her features at that very note that she'd so summoned. The girl chirped, glancing up at him with newfound enthusiasm as she watched him move his hands further down the keyboard. She was ever attentive to the way his fingers moved against those white and black keys, nearly missing that first indication for her own singular note. She was quick to press down her key, adding it into his melody, and soon enough, Abigail was concentrating only on that single key and making sure her panda paws played it right without pressing the ones beside it. This would have been SO much easier if she had fingers. She might have kind of slipped in a few extra notes accidentally but the song really did sound great! That insistence that she was Beethoven, however, was met with that panda-like grin that spread across her features, the young woman entirely elated. Slowly, she shifted onto that keyboard, letting several more of her paws touch those keys just to see what sort of other sounds she could make of it. It was certainly not as pretty as Arlo's hands gracefully dancing over those notes but...she couldn't help that simple desire to try! This was just too cool not to!
