if these wings could fly for the rest of our lives
There was something utterly and completely exciting about exploring that SUPER GIANT market place with Arlo, even if it was likely not what he would have expected, or what most girls probably would have asked out of their now MILLIONAIRE friend. However, Abby truly didn't need that much. She had a house and she was going to school and as long as she was able to do that, the girl was relatively content with her lot in life - well, as well as one could be anyways. She watched as those objects were slowly packed away once again, that shoe box had somehow become infinitely more valuable for her best friend and they had to get it home safely! It was almost a relief when Arlo reached out for her, the panda happily scampering up onto his shoulder where she belonged. The girl curled around her friend's neck, the coldness of his flesh almost comforting against the near constant heat of her own small frame. The young woman was wholly content to nestle in the darkness of that hood that surrounded her small frame as they moved through that library under the watchful glare of the woman at the front of the establishment. Abigail ducked further into that hood as they passed, pleased only when they made their way out of the building and onto the street.

That touch of Arlo's hand against her head caused that purring to begin again, her cheek nuzzling quite contently into the vampire's palm. She was oblivious, really, to how those touches of affection seemed to affect him. Rather, those small glimpses of her adoration for her bestie best friend felt almost natural. This was the only way she could show the man she liked him! Abigail hardly anticipated that inquiry of where she wanted to go. After all, most of their adventures were focused solely upon whatever sort of trip Arlo had for them, not that Abby minded in the slightest. She got to go new places and see all sorts of new things! Still - this choice...this one was hard. She wasn't against taking him home but...what would she did when they got there and he found an empty house?! She wasn't ready to explain yet what she was! After all, she still hadn't gotten him a gift to apologize for lying for SO LONG. She'd known him almost a year and still she'd been too scared to tell him the truth. WHAT IF HE DIDN'T LIKE HER ANYMORE. Still….the way he chuckled when her tongue touched the side of his cheek...she couldn't imagine her Arlo abandoning her that easily...right? That was a conundrum for another night. They'd both already been through enough for now and so, Abigail leaned forward to press her nose gingerly against that hand that signified that apartment she'd come to find as a home away from home...sort of.

That instruction to hold on tight quickly saw those claws dig into the man's clothing, fully prepared for the worst only for that ability of teleportation to so grasp at the pair, sending the pair several blocks away and onto the roof of a nearby building. There was something distinctly peculiar about teleportation, as if her insides became all mushed up and didn't know which way was up anymore in those split seconds afterwards. It was near nauseating to the poor panda but she hardly had a chance to regain her composure before Arlo teleported again, leaving them in front of that familiar building. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth in a way that made the panda look as if she was making a 'bleh' sort of face. Unfortunately, her bestie was already on the move again, hopping up those stairs as if it hardly bothered him in the slightest. She was jealous. Her grip slowly loosened on the man as they got to his floor, the panda near flopping against him as he pulled back that hood to fret over the keys to that dingy little apartment.

She had hardly considered that Arlo had considered moving from that town. In fact, quite naively Abigail hoped they could be best friend forever. She liked this little flat. There were so many memories here! Like that time she fell out of the window and the time stalked him home and when she bought him a Christmas tree and….all those other things they did here! It was a nice place. A nice home. Mostly because this little place was Arlo's home - but she tried not to think into that very much. Rather, a soft yawn left that panda mouth as Arlo made his way around the room, closing blinds and windows. She watched as he kicked off his shoes and socks, leaving them wherever they happened to land on the floor. Tsk tsk. She hardly had the energy to complain, however, the girl near flopping on that bed where Arlo had placed her only for her hazel eyes to widen ever so slightly as the man peeled off that hoodie and shirt from his body. That heat quickly rushing to her cheeks even if that russet fur hid that reaction. She was entirely surprised to find herself on top of that bare chest some few moments later, the girl fully able to appreciate the planes of those muscles in ways she had not before.

Her attention was drawn from the man's chest by Arlo's voice by those rather unexpected words of thanks. A soft chirp left the young woman's lips though really, that gratitude was hardly necessary. She would have gone with him no matter what, after all! Even if it had started kinda...dramatic, look at what they'd found! Her gaze followed his own towards that box that now sat on the night stand, hardly expecting the way in which he suddenly shifted only to pluck out that little baby cactus from the depths of it. The presence of that cactus and Arlo's declaration that they would raise it together brought a far more enthusiastic bark from her lips. She had every intention of raising that little love plant of theirs. It was theirs! She eyed it with glee, at least until that yawn from his lips drew a like one from her own. She settled down against his chest, that stroking of her fur only further prompting those purrs before Abigail found herself too falling into that Oblivion of sleep, entirely comfortable against the coldness of her best friend's skin.

For several hours the young woman remained there, not waking until near afternoon. The room was altogether dark and for a long moment she'd considered simply falling back asleep - at least, until she remembered the homework she had due on Monday. A small yawn left her lips as the panda drew herself from the unmoving body of her companion. She hopped off that bed, letting that shift overcome that small frame before that far more human skin stood in the darkness of that room. "You better not wake up." She muttered to her companion, eying him near wearily as she reached for that hoodie she knew was on the floor. Tentatively, the girl pulled it over her naked frame, pulling her long red locks from the depth of that hood. It was only once she had some sort of clothing on that she felt at least...a little bit more comfortable with Arlo's sleeping form. "We gotta bring you back to life, huh, Mr. Cactus?" She inquired brightly, leaning over the small plant. She took that little pot into her hands, slipping into that bathroom only to turn on the facet and insure the poor little plant received the proper amount of life. "There we are. That's better huh?" She continued to speak to the little thing as her feet padded against that hard floor and the little plant was returned to that nightstand. "He's so messy, isn't he. Mr. Cactus? Your shoes go here Arlo." She commented, placing them together at the edge of the bed. The girl proceeded to gather his dirty clothes, placing it in together in the corner. It was the best she could do. Abigail nodded, quite pleased with herself before she approached that bed once again. "Hmm…" She considered, attempting to wrestle a blanket out from under the man to place the blanket on top of him. There. Now he looked comfy! "Good night Arlo." Abigail continued biting her bottom lip for a moment before tentatively pulling that hoodie from her body before letting that shift overcome her, the little panda waddling towards the window to disappear into the world.
