    Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

you could rattle the stars.
you could do anything,
if only you dared

Barefoot, she keeps her arms crossed as she eyes Tetradore across the room. Keeping her face as blank as possible, she’s unable to hide the surprise that briefly mars her features. Vhalla’s brows only arch more when he tells her he wanted to sell it; the assassin hadn’t been aware the man before her owned Sam’s apartment. Unable to help herself, she frowns at the words. It wasn’t her place to decide if it should stay or go, yet the woman found that she would miss this place. She had managed to build some memories here, some good ones before Sam left and Dorian moved in with Sebastian. Perhaps she was reluctant to let it go.

She’s unable to respond to him before she watches those emerald green eyes travel to the cabinet at her side, asking what happened to it. Sighing heavily, she unfolds her arms and gives the broken cabinet a look of disdain. “I don’t know, I can’t fix it with what I have here and I doubt Dorian or Sam even owned a tool box,” she frowns again, staring at the wooden door a touch longer, debating on just setting the damn thing on fire. “There’s a few minor things broken that I came to fix and a lot of lightbulbs out, which shouldn’t be a problem. I can have it fixed up for you soon, hopefully,” she says, turning to look back at Tetradore, shifting from one barefoot to another, resting with her hip popped out casually.

Watching him carefully as he moves farther into the room, she notices the scorched couch and floor the same moment Tet does. Cringing, she was a bit shocked he wasn’t angry, merely curious at the whole ordeal. Stepping closer, she meets him in the living room, standing a few feet away as she regards the floor and ruins of the couch. “I, ah, that was my fault,” she mutters, a bit embarrassed, “That night you found me half dead against the brick wall, this is what I had done prior to that…,” she trails off, looking at him briefly before her eyes travel back to the couch.

“Sebastian was trying to bind my wounds but that state I was in, I was too delirious and I sort of… burst into flames,” she pauses, “At least I didn’t burn the apartment down though, right?” She offers a weak smile but it dies briefly. Tucking a stray hand of hair behind her ear, she regards Tetradore with a more serious look gesturing to the window, “I thought I heard the truck pull up, I ordered a new truck as a replacement, I thought it was the movers when you came in the door,” she explains, looking down at the scorch floor, blood stains still marring the ground in some areas. Running her barefoot along the ruined floor, she cringes again, “I can have this taken care of too. I’ll hire someone to rip it out and re-lay the flooring. It’s my fault, no one else to blame,” she shrugs, folding her arms across her chest again before she turns her blue eyes to the window again, searching for the truck that would be delivering the couch.

They fall into an easy silence, something comfortable that they hadn’t had for a while as Vhalla continues to gaze out the window, the sunlight filtering through the glass, casting shadows along the floor. Deciding she very much wanted to feel the air on her skin, she unfolds her arms and walks across the room, opening a window. There’s a gentle breeze that caresses her face, blowing her hair softly about her face as a faint smile tugs at the corner of her mouth, albeit a bit sad, but a smile nonetheless. Sighing, she turns around and leans against the windowsill, enjoying the sun upon her back as she faces Tetradore again.

“That day in the warehouse, I never intended to interfere with your business, I allowed my… emotions to control my actions. I was frustrated and upset, it’s not an excuse, I know. I just wanted you to know that I wouldn’t have made that kill if I didn’t already know that money was in the car,” she says softly, meeting his eyes briefly before looking away. She didn’t know what this was. What feelings she had for the man, but at the very least, she could give him a peace offering. An apology. Something she could only count on one hand she had offered to someone and truly meant it. A heartfelt apology. Sighing, she allows her words to sink in, before she is turning her gaze to the blue skies outside.
