every king had a story, of ancient glory,sweetly told

If he had been at all surprised by any of the revelations he had learned tonight it was surely this notion of Ceara that was perhaps one of the most surprising. That Anna-Marie was capable of anything other than childish destruction and the creation of grief was difficult enough for him to attempt to accept after the display he had seen tonight. The girl he had witnessed nothing short of a beast of a child in need of a good clip across the ear, one her species had surely been the only thing so protecting her from receiving. That she had, in turn, so apparently gone about adopting other vampires was perhaps an equally striking notion. A child playing the role of a parent in a way. Dorian so forced to consider there were many aspects of vampirism he had not at all considered until now and that they, as a species, were wholly more intricate then he had ever presumed. Those further questions he was surely left with on the nature of vampirism were all but forgotten in the wake of those further words his lover offered him now. Ceara, it seemed, a veritably useless piece to this puzzle in that she either knew nothing or those small bits she did know seemed to contradict Sebastian’s own. The puzzle of this chid so apparently made up of incomplete pieces, inconsistencies and missing information the sort of which denied even his own AISE from being off very much use. Matteo, perhaps, truly did exist as but one of the few whom might provide them with information and yet it was the gift of the Frenchman to see the future, not the past. Was it too much to hope that his visions of Sebastian might have tapered on to Anna-Marie at some point? That perhaps his simple age and standing within the supernatural community might provide him something on knowledge off this nearly ancient event?

“We will find the answers- somehow.”

He felt positively as if his own head was sure to explode! Dorian content to store that information away all the same lest he find something of use in the coming months and yet he suspected this mystery was one well inclined to stay that way for at least a little longer. If anything might so be drawn from tonight’s affairs it was surely that he now had only further reason to see to the tea with Matteo he had so continued to find excuses to put off each time Sebastian inquired of it. His lovers near persistent interest in this very meeting having failed to truly occur to him so absorbed were his own thoughts upon it. Dorian wholly oblivious to Sebastian’s utter determination to do things right in this, pressing him toward that discovery so that Sebastian too might have that blessing he deemed a necessity in this. In the very least he was further inclined, if not required, to set up that afternoon tea now. Dorian almost glad for that final push in the direction he surely needed and yet here and now he allowed all such thoughts to press to the back off his mind where a veritable plethora of others existed to be considered later on. The man instead choosing to inquire further on his Consorts interaction with Samantha.

It was almost entirely unexpected in its force, those utter feelings of possessiveness and protectiveness over his boyfriend that seemed to grip him in the wake of that tale. It infuriated him to know of Sebastian’s suffering in this, to learn that his lover was a veritable toy at the hands of a child. It was maddening to him if only for how deeply he knew such scars might run within the man he adored. He knew of Sebastian’s sensitivity to those matters of feeding, to the lengths the man went to in order to uphold his own morals in this. To have another force him to behave differently, in a way Dorian so knew would distress him, was surely more then the Monarch could bear to here. If ever he had hated a being so much as he had hated Ferdinand then surely it was this girl. If she had once been sane then she had once had the sense to know the consequence off her actions. A part of the Fae inclined to believe her simply vindictive. Dorian so metaphorically bristling all the more. He had so hated Ferdinand for those things he had done to him, for those pressures placed upon him and those decisions made about is life without his counsel. His hate of that man had been selfish to an extent- for it had come from his own discontent, at least in the beginning. This newfound disdain for Anna-Marie was perhaps more potent if only because it came from the harm she had done to that being he loved more than anything else within this world. The depths of that love were impossibly deep and by that same notion the depths of his disdain for anyone whom might bring his lover pain were equally so. Dorian so having failed to feel….this wealth of emotion in several centuries. The Fae working to push it back for now. It would do them no good and it was surely best not to allow such a feeling to take up hold within him right now.

It was with no small measure of effort that the man forced himself to let go off those irritations. At least for now. Those thoughts that turned within Sebastian’s mind perhaps equally as troublesome in a sense if only for the fact the man was cleaning with more passion then Dorian was quite sure he had ever seen him. His hand atop the vampires own bringing those frantic motions to a halt as he so attempted to alleviate the weight of those burdens his lover shouldered. How difficult it was to step past the constraints of the societies in which they had been raised. Dorian not at all unfamiliar with the struggle and indeed he hardly anticipated such things may happen overnight and yet surely there relationship might find even greater heights if they found it within themselves to share those worries when they occurred. The Monarch so assuring his lover that it perhaps pained him more to know that such things were kept from him if only for the notion that all these worries had turned within Sebastian’s mind so relentlessly when they need not have. Surely some burdens in the least were better spoken off, relationships so entirely new to Dorian in turn and yet was not trust but a cornerstone off any partnership? Should they not trust one another with but some of those things? Dorian so considering that Sebastian was perhaps a near perfect example of a man off his time, an age in which the troubles off the world at large were not brought home, in which a man’s wife or partner was not to be troubled with them as a rule and yet- there were two men in this relationship. Dorian so assured that alone afforded them further leniency to share. His words so at last seeming to find the vampire. Dorian knowing entirely well that Sebastian would try and that he too would offer no less in future.

The manner in which his lover all but fell against him in the wake of such words, however unexpected, was met with the ready embrace off his arms all the same. A part of the Monarch merely determined to cling to him as if that alone might solve but every problem. Dorian so taking a simple sense of security from that embrace even if those words saw him tighten his grasp all the same. How quickly that emotion beset him! Dorian hardly inclined to feel foolish for it in any sense, the man struggling to keep it from his voice all the same if only because Sebastian so needed him to be that veritable pillar tonight. The man refusing to be anything less then what was needed even though his words were surely coated with that thickness. He so hated to think of what might happen if the girl returned and yet for all his worry and fear over that very thing another part of him remained distinctly determined that, should the worse eventuate- he was entirely prepared to counter her assault and that she truly held little idea of just what he was capable off if so pressed to defend their very lives. It would be she whom need beg his mercy if she dared to tread upon this life he had built. She could not fathom the force of his power in defence of that and yet how truly he hoped such a moment would never come. How loath he was to consider giving her life itself and yet if it so removed her powers from her and that hold she had on his lover- so be it.

He needed Sebastian in that moment. Needed that closeness. Dorian simply refusing to move for several long moments before at last pressing his lips to the mans forehead in that sweet kiss, shifting back from him just slightly to declare they should surely abandon that kitchen and any reminder of the night at large. His fingers interwove with his lovers own, leading him from that room then and into the hall. Dorian taking those stairs easily before at last finding their bedroom, that singular room that provided an untouched sanctuary of sorts- that door closed upon the world at large and on all those worries before the Monarch near tumbled back onto those neatly made sheets as the rain outside danced a pattern on the window. How peaceful that sound could be. His drink was placed on his nightstand before the man rolled abruptly to rest upon Sebastian’s chest in a favoured position he so often took up, allowing his legs to tangle with the man’s own as his lips pressed to his consorts now. He simply needed that moment. That taste and smell and touch and utter assurance that for this moment at least all existed as it should. Dorian relishing in that kiss and the arm that wrapped about his waist. How things seemed almost better in this room. Dorian pulling softly away to let his head rest on his lover’s chest again. His name softly uttered then before that final question fell from his lips, Dorian aware to an extent of the foolhardiness off it and yet…..did it hurt to have such belief in them? Did it hurt to say it even if he had already devised a plan in the case it should fail? His lips lifted slightly at the corners in the wake of that response, his head shaking lightly.

“I have a strong amount of faith in you.”

He uttered simply. Those words decidedly true. Dorian so having a far greater trust in Sebastian’s ability to withstand pain then he did within himself to watch it. Dorian assured in that moment that if ever he should witness his lover in that sort of distress that it would surely be the Monarch himself who so metaphorically broke first and unleashed his own powers upon his lover’s tormentor if only to have it stopped. For now however, he hardly added those further words. Dorian assured they had taken their fill of emotion for now as Sebastian’s hand lifted idly to run through his hair in a fashion that at last brought that genuine simper to his lips with that affectionate touch. The man hardly carrying for the fashion in which it remained tousled and askew. Sebastian offering those words he needed to say and perhaps Dorian so needed to hear. How glorious it was to hear them too! The depth of them hardly lost upon him, nor that uttered promise of sorts within them. Dorian wholly inclined to believe it. He uttered softly then;

“I love you too. Forever and always.”

Regardless of anything that should ever happen. This sort of emotion simply did not ever truly leave, of that he was sure. That Sebastian should know that truth of it so seemingly important to him then. Dorian so suddenly feeling the very weight of this entire evening pressing upon him, the man far more exhausted then he had anticipated, his eyes daring to close for just a moment atop Sebastian’s chest if only to shove those final disparaging thoughts away. His companion’s voice seeing his gaze flutter open again. That inquiry of chocolate seeing that ready grin return now, a chuckle rising softly within his throat as his eyes so dared to roll in playful amusement. But of course Sebastian would ask after that chocolate! Some things, it seemed, simply did not change. That almost impish look touching his features now.

“I did. After you left earlier I tasted some of it while I was tidying. It was exquisite. I am surprised you have not yet discovered I have several of them still in my pocket, you are usually quite attentive to these things. I put them there to give to you.”

Given their evening he supposed this was not terribly surprising and yet Dorian remained content to tease gently at him all the same, his form shifting to allow one hand to reach into his own pocket then, plucking a chocolate from within. His fingers dutifully unwrapped it then. That chocolate neatly held between his fingers before Dorian reached out to place it rather abruptly on the tip of Sebastian’s nose, his lip quirking again.

“I feel I must ask of you a most critical question, Mon Cher. It is a thing I must know of you.”

That amusement that danced upon his features was entirely clear before his head tilted slightly to the side in contemplation.

“Can you touch your nose with the tip of your tongue?”
