However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

We're all rotten, buried and forgotten,

Living it up underground

It wasn’t complete and utter shit but it was kind of.. unique like some random piece of art work thrown together in attempts to provoke thought and hmming and hawing. It seemed abstract and kind of cool because you could play with it by making the planets spin around. But she was the last person in the world to know if it had magic or not. The most logical thought was that Sterling was indeed ripped off. It certainly was a focal point of the place and distracted from all the lush greenery. Those vibrant purple eyes peer at it once more before returning to the dark haired man. Sterling mentioned that he paid a butt load for the piece which only betrayed to his mental wellbeing, or lack thereof. He probably really needed a hug or something, but Harley wasn’t really that touchy feely kind of girl and really it had been ages. He would have thought she were delusional if she just went to give him a big bear hug out of nowhere, or likely, thought the girl was going to maul him. Not that it really ever mattered what anyone thought. A mischievous grin spread upon her features, flashing him those pearly whites. “So you're saying if I kept following you around and tried to sell you something, you would throw money at me too?” Sweet deal, but she was mainly teasing him. Or was she? That quite possibly might be up for debate later on. That weak smile that crossed his features seemed nothing short of heartbreaking, but his following words were afforded an amused but brief laugh from her. “Aw, Sterling, that has to be the nicest thing I heard all week.”

The warlock seemed to shrug off her comment with a quick rise and fall of his shoulders but she was too busy lingering on the comment she said. Sometimes her insightfulness despite all of that bravado and abrasiveness shined through the cracks of her armour. She can’t have herself bleeding all over the carpet with her emotions. She was the kind of girl that pushed through all the negative crap with a sarcastic remark upon her tongue. Plus, Sterling seemed like something really dark plagued him, his eyes seemed shadowy and haunted in that way that said he had a story to tell. Not to mention his sad demeanour and the limp to his walk just added more to the sad vibe. Something really bad must have happened to her friend and despite her nonchalant walls up demeanour, she had a pesky problem of caring about the people that meant something to her. Which were of course, few and far between. Harley wasn’t normally the sentimental type but with certain people, she most definitely was. So this man was stuck with her, they were not only friends but neighbours, he really didn’t have all that many places to hide. Sometimes as cruel as life was, it had a way of punching you in the gut and then helping you up simultaneously, Sterling was certainly the later. The raven haired spitfire smiled at him, his own smile seemed far more convincing this time. At least he wasn’t too far gone. But if someone were to pull out the smile, it had to be the someone who could defy all odd. Harley was most certainly that woman.

She watches as Ace interacts with him, her canine companion seemed to like Sterling just as much as she did. Ace was a pretty damn good judge of character, sniffing out trouble a mile away. He had no problem placing judgement on people to give his human companion an evil alarm. Not that it ever stopped Harley with her guns a blazing and her acquired taste for trouble. However, it certainly helped. The woman really needed to be more acquainted with fear and listening to those warning signals, yet, nothing really seemed to stop this impressive force of nature. She may have looked human but there was a storm just beneath her skin and despite what she was, in her own right she was powerful. How else did she manage to get on vampire’s radar more than once? For some reason, they seemed to have a taste for her, of all creatures. The woman with the silver peaked tongue that garnered more enemies than friends somehow attracted the most unusual men, the ones that wanted nothing more to possess and tame the untameable creature that is Harley. It was like trying to bridle a tornado, it just couldn’t be done.

Sterling admitting he was a warlock came to no surprise to Harley, in truth it seemed amusing to her. Finally, there was a supernatural that didn’t want to eat her or kill her and he was on her side. All the magical stuff he could do just seemed endless to the woman with the vivid imagination, surely she would convince him to do all kinds of tricks, those magical powers she only dreamed about as a kid. But it would seem even being apart of the supernatural community, it still possessed its dangers. Someone sweet natured like Sterling would be a prime punching bag to those power hungry individuals. “Well, that just means we need to practice. I am human, I have an excuse. You can blast people with fireballs, you should be unstoppable. What I would give to blow someone away with just my eyes.” She snickered allowed, allowing her the chance to entertain such a thought.

Her curiosity, however, could not be stifled any longer, he had limped for the last time to simply go unnoticed. She questioned him about it. Surely he knew the question was bound to come. Harley wasn’t heartless and surely he knew he walked about seemingly aimless and the sadness that surrounded him was palpable. His response was uttered in the same morose voice that it dripped with sadness. There was more to this story. “You did?? Doesn’t that mean you will turn into one? What would you even be? Please don’t tell me you got attacked by a were-chihuahua. At least you wouldn’t be a yappy one. ” She questioned not entirely sure how the whole turning thing went. Surprise crossed her features, her eyes widened as she leaned up against the couch within the room surrounded by plants, she hadn’t expected him to be attacked by a were. He really didn’t really seem to elaborate on it, hell she waited a little bit to encourage it and stared at him as if waiting for him to go on and it never happened. It only meant the man was hiding something, she was sure of it.

The look on his face said it all, he didn’t want to talk about it. Fine, she wasn’t going to pull his teeth trying to make him. But she was going to try and distract him with her colourful ideas. He was still a warlock, right? Surely they could stir up something magical trouble fun. “Hmm..” She pondered what he said. It sounded like he needed to think more outside the box. If she possessed his magical warlock abilities she would make her apartment like Fantasia and she would never have to do house work again. “Why don’t you start with something you know and then add to it? Do we need a spell and fairy dust? Oh, this is going to be so much fun.. Maybe we can fix your leg while we are at it.” For the first time in a long ass time she was having fun, she sure hoped it was having the same effect on him.
