Sebastian Ellington

Sebastian could not deny that a part of him was entirely apprehensive of those words he uttered to his boyfriend's father. Though he hardly wished to make an enemy of the Frenchman, he was too entirely willing to harbor his secrets against his lover either. It was a dangerous line to walk - or so he thought. That hint of surprise upon his features was altogether noticeable as Matteo too announced that he found the vampire likeable enough that this...matter would hardly affect their relationship as a whole. That trust the Frenchman so spoke of to keep Dorian safe and, perhaps to a only slightly lesser degree, happy, was met with a solemn promise that he intended to do just that - even if it so cost him his very life. There was a certain steadfastness to his voice, one that hardly prompted more than a mere nod of acceptance from the Frenchman, as if the Fae hardly doubted him in the slightest in this. He was hardly ignorant to that effort the fae so displayed in his effort to bond with him, much less over that very thing that was so quintessentially manly. He was certainly showing his age as he shifted in that chair, even though the vampire was certainly the youngest of all three of them and yet -- the sports had never existed within his youth and as an undead creature, the only thing that had ever mattered to him was his meals.

Even so, as he shifted nearly uncomfortably within his chair, Sebastian made some attempt to think of any sport he truly cared of or had enough knowledge to speak of in any sort of intelligent manner. He doubted Matteo had any interest in the slightest in the National Figure Skating Competition or Tennis. It was with some trepidation that the vampire settled upon those horse races he closely followed though, thankfully, any broaching upon that topic was salvaged simply by the appearance of the fae King once again wandering into that dining room with a plate of...well something. His attention shifted near effortlessly from Matteo and towards that curious delicacy that he was presented with, his fingers plucking that chocolate drizzled treat with a palpable measure of curiosity. He glanced upwards at his boyfriend, that singular glimpse alone rewarded him a view of that near sort of nervousness that seemed to afflict the fae at the presentation of that baked treat. The importance of it was altogether clear to the vampire in that moment - the man entirely assured he would have eaten all of it, regardless of what it was or how it tasted if only to assuage those fears his lover held over them. It was that in mind which so prompted the vampire to offer some measure of praise to the King for the simple creation of this - whatever it was, even before it touched his lips.

That explanation Dorian provided of his creation saw a soft tug of utter bafflement cross his features as he inquired after the fact that he was essentially being served a flower, even as he plucked what he now assumed was a pedal from the biscuit. He slipped it between his lips, chewing on it thoughtfully as that explosion of flakey golden fried...flower exploded on his tongue with just a subtle taste of that sweet delicious chocolate he so adored. It was certainly bizarre, this delicacy and yet, even as he found himself inquiring after where Dorian had fetched these flowers and how he hadn't had salted chocolate, he still slipped yet another pedal between his lips. His head shook ever so slightly as his lover commented on the simple fact he'd taken to growing those weeds upon his own estate, the landscaping was largely a facet of the grounds he'd taken to allowing the fae Monarch to do with as he saw fit, ever since the man had discovered his gift for life. Rather, somewhere between the second and third petal, Sebastian paused only to confirm, "No of course not, though...next time we are out, remind me to show you sea salted caramel…" He felt silent as he nibbled on that flower, preferring to dissect it petal by petal rather than eating it whole in the fashion the Frenchman across from him had near sought to do.

Rather, it was Matteo's voice alone that prompted both Dorian and his own gaze to shift curiously to the elder fae and yet, Sebastian said nothing in that tender moment that was surely reserved for father and son. He knew decidedly little of Dorian's parents, much less their relationship though he gleamed his lover had not truly had a favorable childhood or a terribly good connection with neither his assessors or his siblings. The vampire's gaze fluttered towards his boyfriend in that moment, entirely observant to the Monarch's attentiveness to the Frenchman in that moment and yet, any mention of his mother was entirely fleeting - that conversation shifted instead to matters of Italy and his lover's position as head of the country. His forehead wrinkled at that news of the President's recent scheme to see the Monarchy torn to shreds. To involve the Church of Italy, however, was a new low, though he supposed he shouldn't have been surprised by anything after being chased by Italian's damn near set upon hunting him nearly a month prior - an event he suspected to be orchestrated by the very same man even if he had hardly voiced a syllable of it to his lover. That inquiry of whether or not it was due to Dorian's choice in himself however, only caused that frown to settle on his features.

It was that admittance of the President's fears of the laws of succession, however that only further served to confuse him. Though Matteo made some effort to ensure them all would be fine in the end if only how utterly well liked their popularity was amongst the common people, the vampire was, perhaps as keen as his lover to do some sort of damage control in order to ensure that outcome that would be most beneficial for them. "Perhaps we should return to Italy for a month or so…" He commented in a wholly musing fashion. He was entirely capable of ensuring they remained well liked, his affinity nearly guaranteeing it and yet, there was something else of this whole affair that had bothered him far greater than the President's efforts to bring up the crown's succession. He only half listened, truly, to that teasing notion of merely firing the president as he considered the possibility before, altogether tentatively touching upon that very thought. "Does he not realize that succession should be the least of his concerns when fae can simply live for near eternity? He is not foolish enough to make an effort on Dorian's life - does he?" After all, what did it matter if the Monarchy ended with Dorian when Italy's King could simply thwart time itself?

That concern lingered upon the forefront of his brain, even as Matteo so finished that cup of tea. That notion that, finally, Matteo intended to stay in touch with the Italian King beyond those flashes of foresight had a way of bringing a small simper to the vampire's lips. This was exactly the sort of relationship he had hoped the pair might be capable of forging and, quite thankfully, it seemed as if things truly were falling into place. It was that inquiry on if there was anything else, however, that saw his gaze shift briefly towards the fae Monarch. Now that Anna-Marie had failed to darken his doorway again had near pushed those pressing concerns from his mind and yet….he could not avoid this issue forever. Nor was he entirely unaware of how terribly...impolite it was to so scold his lover's father only to turn around and ask for a favor. A soft sigh left his lips and yet, truly, it was his worries for Dorian's safety alone that finally prompted those words to leave his lips. "There was...one other thing…" If only that was all she was - another thing.

His gaze slowly shifted from his boyfriend and towards the elder fae, his hand raising in the process to run through his hair. "My um...maker has recently decided she is….not fond of...well, anyone near me. Rumor has it she lost her sanity some two hundred years ago over seas. I was hoping you might be capable of...providing some insight on what we -- er, I might be able to do to ensure she...doesn't become a problem." For whatever reason, the vampire found himself having some measure of difficulty actually asking for help. She was certainly his burden to bare and though he might have eventually shared his difficulties with the girl with the man he so adored, doing so with Dorian's father was a distinctly more unsettling thing.
