Sebastian Ellington

The vampire was quite purposeful in that consumption of the flower, even if the taste and sheer concept of what he placed within his mouth utterly baffled him in every regard. It was a curious delicacy though hardly one he hated in anyway. Even so, he was intent upon eating every petal of that daffodil if only for that look of hopefulness that had crossed his lover's features upon presenting him that flower. Sebastian was equally as attentive to that look of utter pride that filled his lover in those moments after at so achieving that which he had so clearly struggled with and yet, despite his inquiries, the Englishman had every intention of reassuring his lover of his success in this regard - at least until Matteo's voice so breached that silence with a softly spoken utterance of Dorian's mother. He was aware of his boyfriend's love for the woman and yet, truly, he had little notion of how rare those moments of warmth truly were. It was foolish, perhaps, but he had so effortlessly assumed that she had held a certain sort of fondness for Dorian above all of her other children if only for those few facts that he was relatively certain of and, would surely confirm by the end of that evening.

He hardly missed that look of curiosity that filled the Italian King's features and yet, that sentence alone was all Matteo offered before turning to matters of the state he thought they should be aware of. It was no secret that the President of Italy was against the Monarchy in every fashion, much less that he had every intention of making their life as utterly difficult as he was capable of at each turn. Thus far, they had thwarted his efforts and yet, truthfully, he would hardly be at ease until the President fell out of favor and his term came to an end. Nevertheless, the vampire remained entirely attentive to those words his future father-in-law offered them, the notion that it was Dorian's role in the Church he wished to undermine, however, caused his eyebrows to furrow. Truly, they could twist this wonderfully within their favor. His eyebrows furrowed in consideration, that intelligent and, occasionally strategic mind of his youth so eagerly jumping upon this newfound conundrum he was presented with. It was this very thing that had caused him to excel within that law school, much less that had surely prompted his own affinity with others. His gaze briefly met his lover's own as he assured them he was willing to touch base with such individuals though his computer and yet it was only the notion that they might find a way to appeal to those individuals that prompted the vampire to finally utter what had so been turning in his mind.

"This...might not be that awful to let him question...the Pope is vastly more inclined to modernism than any other before him. He's openly accepted homosexuality. It would be relatively easy to get him on our side by simply pointing out that by finally making a more...outspoken stance on the issue, he might help to bring some of the younger generation back to the fold. Parliament might be inclined to agree if the Pope himself throws his weight behind your involvement in the church." It was a far more roundabout way of so securing the President failed and yet, the Vatican herself had little control of the words of her leader. At the very least, they might have multiple avenues to so solve this problem and yet, Sebastian was hardly unaware that such an effort to undermine his boyfriend surely had far more reaching nefarious goals. He was entirely attentive to that shift in the Frenchman, that small move alone spoke volumes to him, confirming his own very fears. The president did wish to see his lover's life end. A frown marred his features, that near possessiveness within him to eagerly flooding to life as his cerulean eyes shifted towards the man he loved - at least, until his own name was spoken.

The notion of himself in line for the throne was near ridiculous, muchless that he was a near target. He could hardly help the snort that left his nose and yet this perceived threat that he seemed to be certainly made sense of that attack he had endured. Even so, that concern still blossomed to life within him, combined with that protectiveness he felt for his lover made the man nearly antsy. That frown was ever present upon his lips, even as Matteo attempt to reassure them that he would be in touch if any such vision crossed his periphery. Even so, he found his worries hardly assuaged in the slightest. It was, unfortunately, the finishing of that cup of tea and announcement of the Frenchman's intention to leave that drew Sebastian to matters that were perhaps equally as pressing, if only for the fact that they were more...immediate. A soft sigh left his lips as he attempted to collect his thoughts enough to make that request of his own, the vampire near struggling with those words if only for the knowledge that he was so breaking the decorum that he so often clung to.

That gentle touch of Dorian's knee bumping against his own was hardly ignored and yet, the King was wholly oblivious truly to exactly how rude the vampire was being in those moments. He watched in silence as Matteo so considered that request and yet, he could only hope that the elder fae so realized the threat she proved to his son enough to at least look. His own blue eyes met those familiar silver ones across from him and yet, he was willing enough to wait in that near awkward silence as Matteo made up his own mind. That rush of crimson to his eyes hardly perturbed the vampire in the slightest. After all, his own species had a habit of so changing that hue of their irises in a variety of shades, most of which he'd already become accustomed to. It was, however, in the aftermath of those visions that Sebastian's gaze shifted away from the pair of fae and towards the floor in a gesture that was near….submissive in nature. He was well aware of the weight of Matteo's gaze upon him, just as he was acutely attentive to what he perceived as the Frenchman's discontent with his behavior tonight - though really, it was decidedly audacious of him to request the man's help now.

It was only once Matteo spoke that the Englishman's attention tentatively turned back towards the elder fae, and yet, that reminder that Matteo knew all of his past was enough to make him near cringe. It was terrifying, really, to know that he knew all of those dark secrets the vampire kept to himself. That he knew all of those things he had purposefully failed to speak to his very own lover. A soft breath left his lips and yet, he said nothing in response but to allow Matteo to continue with what he did wish to impart upon them. It was hardly informative in any fashion, really. It would certainly not help solve that conundrum of his maker's life or how he might 'fix' her, if he was at all capable of doing so. However, the Frenchman did manage to address the only thing that truly mattered to him - Dorian would not die because of her. And for himself? Well - Matteo was wrong there. He had already met his death at her hands. A near subtle twitch of his lips was all that was given at this rather macabre hint of humor he took from such a statement and yet, he somehow suspected neither fae would find nearly as much amusement as he did in that. Rather, he kept such a thought to himself, his attention instead settling with sincerness upon his future father-in-law. "Thank you." Those words were soft, near gracious and slowly, the vampire placed his own teacup down upon his saucer on the table.

"I won't keep you any longer but thank you for coming to tea. It was a pleasure to have you, you should stop by again." Those very words of the polite host fell with ease from his lips. Though Matteo had a way of so unsettling the vampire, both out of his own near childish desire to please the man whilst also knowing all Matteo knew of him, he did wish the fae made more of a habit of 'checking in' for his boyfriend's sake alone. It was, in fact, that very effort to fulfill his own promise to Dorian that prompted the vampire to stand and offer Matteo his hand in one of those handshakes that men so often shared and yet, all the while, he couldn't help those thoughts that ran through his head that so assured him he was being an utterly awful son-in-law.
