His skin was already on fire before she could reach the door. Just as she could feel his presence, so too could he sense his fire goddess just on the other side of the door. His eyes darkened and he wet his lips, his tongue sliding ever so slowly across the surface as he thought of the last time he had seen her. It was always far too long in between that he was without her and he was thinking of pushing the wedding up if only to be able to hold her in his arms more often, as in moving in together. He was allowing her independence and space by letting her keep this place with Yumi until they shared their vows but he was growing ever impatient to the time when he could wake up next to her every night and go to sleep each sunrise with her on the pillow right beside him.

It was a nice fantasy but it ended too soon only to have him wake up to an even better reality as she threw her arms around his waist and pushed her head into his chest. He inhaled her like it was his dying breath, his own arms clasping around her like a puzzle piece sliding into the last hole. It was like they fit there. Her body was contoured and made just for his. He held her there as long as she would let him before surrendering her reluctantly back so he could get a better view of her face. That lazy smirk he knew she so adored tugged at his lips as he handed her the flowers and chocolates.

"For you, the love of my life."

Somehow it was easier to say it to her than it had ever been to anyone else in his existence. He couldn't explain it. Something about Isolt made loving her the easiest thing he'd ever done. The moment she pulled out of reach though, he could sense something else, even before the words left her lips. His face faltered just a little as an unfamiliar yet tingling scent hit his nose. A....human? Here? He wondered vaguely who she was entertaining, his possession flaw tugging at him as he tried not to get jealous or jump to conclusions. He raised a brow at her in curiosity as those words left her lips. Someone for him to meet? Then she leaned in and for a moment, he thought she as going to kiss him, but alas it was only to whisper to him to keep his fangs hidden. He pulled back a little to look at her with even more confusion. A human who didn't know about them? Did they know about her?

But he trusted her and he knew the questions would have to wait. Instead he nodded and offered her a smile.

"Scout's honor."

He even held up two fingers like he saw in the movies before he let her clasp his hand and lead him into the dining room. The moment he took in the raven haired girl, he knew that he had seen her before. Not in person, but in the pictures Isolt used to have up in her room. She always looked heart broken when she looked at them and he knew that she was her best friend and she was gone. But here she was now. So, a long lost friend returned or was there more to the story? He was instantly inquisitive but he held his thoughts back, his lips pulling into a warm smile, or at least his best try at one as he nodded his head. But his expression changed the moment he took in the stern look she was giving him, as if he'd done something wrong and Isolt had just been filling her in about it.

He glanced at Isolt for a moment in question, one brow raising before his gaze swept back to Harley as she said his name. He tilted his head.

"And you're Harley. Glad that we got that figured out."

He noted the confidence with which she measured him up but he had nothing to hide. He squeezed Isolt's hand in reassurance as if to let her know that he had this handled and she had nothing to worry about. Harley seemed a little nervous when Isolt mentioned talking about her, asking Isolt how much she had told and he chuckled on cue.

"Someone's got secrets."

He teased, his eyes twinkling with mischief. Then she changed the subject, asking after the chocolates and flowers. He smirked at her assessment before slowly bringing Isolt's hand up to brush his lips across the back of it, his gaze darting to meet his lover's with a playful wink before he let her hand drop gently.

"Au contrare, I just like to spoil my fiance every once in a while. It helps with the mood, if you catch my drift."

His eyes darkened once more, sure that she caught on just what mood he was talking about before he grinned and pulled out a chair.

"Now, if you'd really like to get to know me, I suggest you take a seat along with my lovely bride to be and we'll have a nice chat."

He even waved his hand to the chair, offering it to Harley before he pulled out one for Isolt, too. See? He could be a gentleman when he thought about it. Brought him back to the civil war days. This was going to be fun.
