Sterling hardly meant to be difficult, truly! He simply didn't want to see Henry beat himself up over all that had happened. He was certain that it had all turned out well enough. At the very least, both of them were alive and that had to be worth something, didn't it? He hardly regarded Henry's sudden silence on the topic as a victory, then again, this wasn't a battle he viewed as something to win or lose either. Rather, he was entirely caught off guard by that idle comment of his appearance, the warlock's uncertainty bled into his voice as gestured inside. After all, this was Henry's home too. This was where Henry belonged, if he so wished to. That comment that Henry was worried about him, however, quickly drew his attention. "You are?" He inquired, clearly not expecting that either, Those fears that had been left unspoken quite near rushed to the surface in those moments. It was as if the man knew those worries that had buried him in despair over the past few weeks in which Henry had been absent. How silly those thoughts seemed now in the wake of those words!

Slowly, Sterling closed the door to his apartment, his back settled on that wooden door as Henry turned back towards him. His own eyebrows furrowed at the notion that the hospital had no records of him. He had been there for several days after Henry had brought him there. It seemed peculiar that they no longer existed. Or maybe Henry had only asked after active patients? A small shrug crossed his shoulders, his gaze slowly flickered towards the floor. "I haven't been there for nearly two weeks now." He commented softly, particularly choosing not to voice all the other things he hadn't been doing either - like work, or physical therapy, or keeping up after the house, or mastering that new ability that still ran rampant in his own bedroom. That explanation he finally was provided for Henry's absence almost felt so...anticlimactic to all Sterling's fears and depression had built it up to be. "Get your shit together?" He inquired, clearly asking what Henry had meant by that. Had he spent all this time working on that were half of him? And here Sterling had assumed the worst. He felt guilty for all those thoughts and notions of his boyfriend he'd let run through his head. That request for forgiveness near quickly latched onto if only for the simple fact that Sterling was certain he needed to be forgiven for thinking so little of the man he loved. "Oh...it's...not a problem or anything. I mean...you're here now right?" He offered a small smile to his boyfriend.
