Henry sighed as he waited for Sterling's answer to his proclamation. Despite what Sterling might think, what had happened to him was entirely Henry's fault. If he hadn't been so stubborn and believed Sterling the first time when he mentioned that he had shifted, then Sterling would not have gotten his ass kicked. Sterling would have been perfectly healthy with not even a scratch on his body. In fact, if he had listened...they wouldn't have been in this situation at all. They could have been happy together without a care in the world.

He sighed as Sterling told him that it wasn't his fault. He shook his head. He didn't believe that. “But it is my fault...I did that to you. Whether or not I was in control is irrelevant. It was still me who did it.” Perhaps Sterling was the only one who could give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps Henry was being too hard on himself, but if he wasn't going to keep himself in check, then who would?

However, at those quiet declarations of love, Henry's features soften. He moved towards the couch, lowering himself next to Sterling as he pulled him close. He kissed him softly as his hands cupped either cheek. “I love you more than anything in this world...and it's exactly why I cannot forgive myself for what I did to you.” He could have killed Sterling. That could have been the last time he ever saw Sterling. Something like this was nearly impossible to get over. Henry wasn't sure if he would ever be able to come back from that night. He would try...but he couldn't make any guarantees.

He sighed as he pulled his hands back into his lap. Head was lowered as eyes looked towards nothing in particular. “I'm a danger to you and to others.” He was like a venomous pet snake - something that should never be owned because of the potential risk. He was a ticking time bomb, just waiting to go off. “I found the man who turned me. He's trying to teach me control...but I don't remember anything during my shifts.” He was beginning to think that his amnesia was not normal. The others seemed to remember what happens when they shift...but Henry? He couldn't remember a damn thing.
