for all the joy you brought to my life60.227.72.125Posted On August 20, 2017 at 3:32 PM by Dorian Aragona

He had hardly been prepared for what had existed behind those doors. That glorious sunlight that streamed into that darkened hall so forcing the Monarch to blink several times in response. He had hardly forgotten sunlight or just how it felt and yet his gaze had become so wholly accustomed to the dark of the night that he had, perhaps, forgotten the sheer brightness it was capable of producing. It took but barely a moment later for his silver-hued eyes to adjust fully to that encompassing daylight, that soft gasp leaving his lips at the simple sight of those gardens and flowers that bloomed in near every direction. That entire landscape decorated with that myriad of displays for near as far as he could see. The simple shock of it so saw the man stumble gently back into Sebastian himself, the pair of them momentarily unbalanced with the action before Sebastian so fortunately seemed to recover them. That look of utter awe remained readily upon his features, Dorian near unable to believe just what he saw, the man incapable of so deciding where he might decide to go first or just what he desired to see most before Sebastian so held his hand out to him. That single gestures seeming to provide the Monarch with but something to follow as his own hand reached eagerly to entwine with his lovers and allow the man to guide him down those stairs and into that path.

The excitable voices of those people were all but ignored. The normally gracious Fae far too taken with those flowers and the prospect of seeing them to truly focus his attention upon the crowds at large. Indeed, Dorian had become almost used to them. Any visit to any place other than the city they so secretly called home so tended to result in rather a large crowd gathering to see them or photograph them or speak to them. The look of surprise and simple delight upon the features of those beings around them however so readily assured the Fae that the crowd was perhaps as equally surprised by their appearance here as the Monarch was himself. He could hardly help that beaming grin that found its way to his lips, the sheer delight that existed at the prospect of flowers so much more then he could easily contain. Dorian eager to move down that path and towards the first of those displays. Sebastian himself was perhaps near forgotten in that moment, Dorian quite unable to decide just where he wished to look first before leading his lover into that nearest garden with its decorative ponds and the hedge so clipped to appear as an elephant drinking from it. His fingers reached easily out towards that hedge only to hesitate in that last moment, the man so suddenly seeming to remember his own manners, as it were. That such displays might not be for touching readily seeing his fingers still, at least until the volunteer whom lingered nearby assured him otherwise. Dorian reaching eagerly for it then. A part of the Fae so simply desiring to touch those plants if only for that flow of life he could feel within them. The entire estate all but bursting with it in a fashion that appealed to him near desperately.

He had forgotten but some of the splendour of the daylight and the sun and how the world looked beneath its hold. He had forgotten just how warm it could be and how the breeze itself held but a touch of that warmth in turn as it near caressed his skin. Yet too- he so hardly regretted his own choice of life beneath that moonlight, if only for that single being it so brought to life in turn. That man he utterly adored more than the sun itself. Dorian assured that if he might visit that daylight on occasion all the same then it would surely be enough. His hand gently squeezing Sebastian’s own in that moment before those thoughts were all but forgotten at the sight of those fish that swum lazily in the ponds beneath those white lilies. Dorian querying then as to whether or not those gardens would simply remain here now, the very idea they had been transplanted, in a fashion, so seeing that look of wonder overtake his features once more. The enormity of it! To move so many gardens in such a short time only to take them away again! How astounding such a thing was. How unfortunate too- that Sebastian might not so be allowed to keep those glorious gardens for himself.

“I suppose it would not be sensible to keep such gardens for yourself and too- it would take a very great deal of work each day for your staff to maintain them. It is a pity though, they are lovely.”

He commented simply, his gaze drawn then to that next garden and those glorious bluebells, Dorian content to near drag his lover behind him in that excitement to reach them. His fingers too affording them that soft caress as that plant near bloomed all the more beneath his touch. How he adored it! Dorian so hardly caring for how very…..Fae he appeared in that moment or the occasional soft chuckle his excitement seemed to glean from the public as they passed. His attention had no sooner found those bluebells then his gaze so seemed to find those wooden deer that pranced to the side. Dorian calling Sebastian’s attention to it in turn before leading the man towards them. He had never quite seen a sculpture like it before. That shaped wood crafted so expertly to appear as two deer fighting, the piece standing out easily even amongst the brightness of the gardens, that warm simper finding his lips at his lovers assurance that this piece so belonged to Tatton itself. The vampires comment upon that house animal stirring that soft sound of amusement from within himself a he circled that sculpture only to come to stand beside his Consort once more.

“Well, you do own far more deer then you do lions, I am assured. Do you recall that evening in the Palace when you so met Matteo for the first time? Even he said he saw you surrounded by deer in his visions. Deer seem to like you, I think and they are a pleasant animal.”

In the very least they were far more practical than his own Griffin. Such a creature did not even truly exist. His own form shifted but slightly then, Dorian leaning upward to press his lips to his lovers cheek in that chaste and yet affectionate kiss. Those words of thanks gently offered before Sebastian’s reply so stirred that grin to his lips once more. How his heart might flutter at just those words! Dorian so unable to prevent that touch of emotion that seemed to warm him then. The vampire proceeding to only further his choices of what he might desire to see next. Dorian momentarily given to consider them then, the Monarch momentarily pressing his teeth to his lip in that almost boyish gesture of consideration.

“The vineyard I think, no, no, the animals first and then the vineyard. I should like to see all of it.”

Dorian assured he did not desire to miss even a single display as he so moved to head in that direction his lover had indicated, the man pausing only long enough to fish his own phone from his pocket and photograph those deer and several more of those flowers. After all, he was near assured they deserved to be painted later on. Dorian wholly determined to remember such a day as this long after they had returned home. His hand returned easily to his lovers own then, the Fae King leading that way towards those further flower displays. The man so readily contemplating the need for at least two further fountains in their own garden at home before his attention was so drawn to the first of those animals. A horse crafted out of several varieties of flowers to make it appear as if it were mid gallop. Such cleverness! That horse located beside several cows crafted from vines to appear as if they stood grazing amongst those flowers beds, that grin upon his features widening all the more at the sight of them. His gaze turning briefly to Sebastian once more, a look almost inquisitive upon his face now.

“Bastian, why is it so you have only been back here on but one other occasion? I do not know how you could stand to miss it each year. Do they not let you wander the gardens at night?”

Surely when it was upon Sebastian’s very estate those gardeners did not deny him that chance to wander through those displays in the evening? Dorian wholly assured he should like to come to such a show every year, the man contemplating just that before the sight of that next sculpture seemed to bring them man to a ready halt. A look of disdain finding his features then as he eyed it almost warily.

“This one I do not like at all.”

That near giant sculpture of a bee crafted from wood and vines was distinctly too realistic for his own tastes, his grip tightening but slightly in Sebastian’s own hand as if he feared such a creature might truly attempt to bring him some sort of harm. His dislike of those insects, of any kind, so surely known well by his lover after all this time.
