Sebastian Ellington

Crowned Consort of Italy

Even the vampire could tell the effect those gardens had upon his lover. Dorian was so often the epitome of composed. He had this unique capability to be endlessly excited and curious and good-natured and yet, to also summon an air of dignity and self-assurance and aristocracy at a moment's notice. To see that very man so near overwhelmed by a mere festival of flowers was not only a rarity but a sight that certainly amusing. He was unable to help that grin upon his features as the fae seemed to near forget his presence altogether, the man clearly so taken with the simple existence of those hedges in animal shapes and the pond that existed before it filled with its assorted colors of fish. That this singular display might produce such wonderment within the man brought him a sense of hope for what the rest of the day offered, much less assurance that he had done well in not only bringing his lover here but too, in the show of sorts that would come. Sebastian was hardly ignorant in the way those simple blossoms seem to react to him and he to it. They were one with each other, apart of each other in a way that Sebastian could not truly understand beyond that simple acknowledgement that it existed. This was were Dorian surely belonged, the midst of everything alive.

That gentle squeeze of Dorian's hand within his own brought his bright blue eyes upwards towards the man, a near questioning glance crossing his features as his own thoughts were interrupted by that small display of affection, subtle though it surely was. He watched the way the Monarch reached down for those fish. The man was altogether keen to simply enjoy the way the Monarch interacted with that world around them rather than dwell on such somber thoughts that had a fashion of so taking hold of him any time they might step within that sunlight that even Sebastian so desperately missed. His own gaze briefly fluttered from the man, those eyes closing as his face turned upwards towards the sun. How he relished in that warmth! In that wind, in that brightness and all that came with it that he was so often denied. That inquiry of those garden's drew his attention away from that simple enjoyment of all he was denied. Instead, the vampire informed the King of just how those flowers had gotten here and too how quickly they would leave his estate. His head shook ever so slightly in agreement that, although those gardens were beautiful, the upkeep of all of this was far more taxing than it was certainly worth. "That they are...though I think the fact that they are here only for a short time somehow lovelier, don't you think?" He inquired, after all, the more something was around, the more even they tended to take advantage of it's existence than relish daily in it's beauty.

The vampire was hardly prepared for the way in which Dorian so quickly shifted from one wonder to the next, ever intent to drag the man onto the next object that caught his attention. A small simper crossed his fingers as his lover reached out for those beloved bluebells. Even they, in all of their beauty, however, failed to keep the King long before something from the man's periphery caught his gaze. That declaration that Sebastian should look at this new wonderment Dorian had found drew his eyes, even as the King was near content to drag him towards those statues he held such fondness for. His own hand gingerly pressing against that smooth wooden surface, the man uttering softly that those deer would remain when all else had left. It was funny, really, though the deer were hardly the face of his family's house, each of those luxurious estates seemed ever keen to pay homage to that animal and the display of wealth it might have once shown. That idle observation of that peculiarity of his family seemed to prompt a ready chuckle in the Monarch himself. It was curious, truly, that it was the deer Matteo had seen in his visions and yet, even the vampire had to agree that they were indeed pleasant. "They are." He commented softly, his gaze still settled on those fighting deer until Dorian's lips pressed against his cheek.

Those words of thanks were graciously accepted with the simple admittance that he would surely have done anything for the Monarch, anything to see that grin brighten the man's features in the way he so seemed to presently beam. It was that joy Dorian seemed to take from tonight that prompted him to suggest those further areas they might explore today, that small boyish gesture he was offered in return was quite near distracting. How tempting it was to bite that lip too. His head bobbed ever so slightly, "We have several days to see it all love, if we cannot manage by tonight." He offered, entirely willing to spend the entire festival being dragged from display to display. He trailed behind the man as Dorian moved in the direction of those animals, pausing occasionally to take pictures of objects that interested him the most. His hand so perfectly fit within Dorian's own once again as they moved through those displays of animals from the galloping horse to the grazing cows. Each and every one was so carefully crafted with such dutiful care. The judges of this year's competition were surely going to have a difficult time deciding which to give the blue ribbon to. It was the sound of Dorian's voice that drew his attention away from those cows, his head tilting to the side in consideration.

"The first few years were...not nearly as interesting as the festival has become...and last year I was a bit too preoccupied with you." He admitted with a small grin. "Yes though, I am allowed to wander the gardens at night. We try to tend to them to the best of our abilities to help the growers." Though he certainly could have enjoyed those flowers prior to Dorian's existence and, in turn, ability to bring him back to life, the flowers simply did not have the same draw under the light of the moon. It was that sudden shift to Dorian's features that drew the vampire's gaze from the man and towards that sculpture they'd stopped at, the man content to simply stare at it blankly. His head slowly tilted to the side, his eyebrows furrowed as he slowly glanced down at the small plaque at the foot that declared what the object even was. "That….is not what a bee looks like." He commented with a glimpse of doubt on his lips. He stepped away from his lover, slowly circling the twig and vine statue with a near critical eye only to slowly return to his lover's side after he made a complete circle. "Did you know that most of the bees you see are female. All of the male bees don't have a stinger and their only job is to just have sex all day long." His gaze turned towards his lover with a near devilish grin upon the man's features. "What do you think of that, Ma Biche?" He inquired in a clearly teasing tone.
