Sebastian Ellington

Crowned Consort of Italy

That assurance that his decision to abstain from that liquor was a sound notion brought a simper to his features, the vampire decidedly relieved that Dorian chose not to press the issue if only for the effects it might surely have upon him later. Rather, he was all too eager to let that conversation change to what else the remainder of their afternoon might consist of. Though he was hardly against viewing those water features, Sebastian had but one other place he wanted to stop and visit, even if it was but a fleeting view from afar. The sheer mention of those butterflies and that near glass dome that was visible upon the horizon seemed to prompt an altogether obvious look of hesitation upon his lover's features, one he certainly knew well. It was at this simple sight that Sebastian readily suggested they simply remain outside of that dome and yet, he needed to see for himself if it was worth the construction and the cost and time he'd put into the Flower Show's newest attraction - the prospect far more related to business than any simply pleasure he might have gotten from viewing those colorful bugs and their patterned wings.

That resolve within his lover's voice that he was surely capable of stepping inside was met with a hint of skepticism from the Englishman, Sebastian's eyebrow raising in a dubious fashion at that confidence even he could see well was feigned. Despite that Kingly mannerism in which Dorian was so capable of employing when needed, Sebastian had been at his side long enough to see through those layers to the heart of the man he so loved. Nevertheless, he said little on the topic of Dorian's own determination until the man declared that those butterflies had certainly never stung him before. His bright blue eyes but briefly met with the Monarch's own as he made an effort to assure the man that butterflies hardly had the capacity for stinging in the first place, a notion that Dorian seemed unwilling to wholly believe. His head shook ever so slightly as Dorian insisted that one of them could have evolved and yet, he saw no reason to fight his lover on what was surely a foolish concern. Rather, he fell in step beside his lover as they made their way towards the center of that Flower Show, the crowds far more gathered here than anywhere else upon that property.

The crowd's awareness of their presence was largely ignored, the vampire far more focused upon the man at his side as Dorian so wearily eyed that dome and the creatures within. His attention turned from his lover at the volunteer that stood behind that entrance, guiding people within and ensuring no butterflies escaped as they left. That offer to clear the gardens for them alone was quickly brushed off by his lover and yet, though the man at the door seemed more than ready to omit them, it was the Englishman himself that paused, if only to ask if Dorian was truly prepared for the flutter of butterflies that awaited them. That subtle nod was all that he required before he let the way into that warm space, the sheer temperature nothing short of delightful to him, despite how humid it felt upon his mortal flesh. He let the King through those gardens, pausing at those flowers only for one of those delicate little bugs to flutter too close to the Monarch then the man desired. That yelp immediately caught his attention and yet, before he could react, Dorian's fingers were tightly squeezing his own as the man's head buried into his shoulder. The muffled assurances that he was fine was met with a simple agreement before his head lightly bumped against his lover's own in a show of affection.

Although that fear that inflicted the King was hardly life threatening in the slightest, Sebastian disliked seeing his lover in such a state of discontent. It was almost natural, the way he sought to soothe those fears by distracting his lover with intriguing facts about those bugs that surrounded him, facts that might make the creatures appear less daunting. In truth, Sebastian hardly knew as much of those bugs as he appeared to, those facts of butterflies had only recently been gleamed when he'd looked into the species he might like to populate that dome. He moved easily through that dome as he spoke to his lover, carefully guiding them back to that exit if only for his certainty that any prolonged exposure to those butterflies might result in a reaction far more panicked then this. He continued on all the same, telling his lover of their wings and how that color was brought on only by light refracting upon those scales, a reflection which, he shortly realized, he might even be capable of controlling. Dorian's softly uttered voice that he might like to see that brought a chuckle to his lips, his shoulders shrugging ever so slightly. "Alas, I'm afraid it cannot happen." He stated and yet, the vampire was nothing if not incredibly good natured of the whole affair.

Rather, he paused at that exit, eying that Monarch butterfly just beside that door. His voice was altogether gentle as he drew his lover's attention to the creature he'd taken to calling the King of the butterflies, the man offering his solemn promise that he certainly wouldn't hurt his lover in the slightest. He could feel Dorian shift against his back, his head lifting ever so slightly to peer at the large butterfly. That insistence that he better not fly at them was met were mere silence if only for the fact that Sebastian could hardly guarantee such a thing. He remained still as Dorian eyed the large creature, that anxiety still apparent upon his usually warm features. Sebastian paused for a moment before commenting on the delicate state of those butterflies. That teasing tone clearly prompted a hint of a simper from his lover as he was shoved quite abruptly, that gesture prompted a chuckle on his lips and yet, he couldn't help but to admit to himself that the smile looked far more beautiful after that fear that had laced him. That distraction, however, was clearly short lived before Dorian quickly reached out for his hand, near dragging him back from that butterfly, out the dome, and into the perceived safety of that butterfly-free world outside.

That sigh of relief drew Sebastian's gaze towards the Monarch, that chuckle settling upon his lips. "You did well, Ma Biche." He stated softly, entirely determined to reassure his lover all the same. His gaze turned towards the horizon as Dorian led the way towards those fountains, the lowering sun creating shadows upon the event, those crowds near thinning as that closing hour loomed ever closer. He was entirely content to let himself be led away from that butterfly dome and the remainder of that crowd. That idle comment prompted a shrug on his shoulders, "Nor did I." He commented, willing to admit that he did not actively pursue facts of bugs to fill his thoughts. It was for Dorian alone that he had so keenly sought his knowledge of those bugs, though saying such hardly seemed necessary either. The sound of that trickling water was a welcomed distraction for them both, however, the vampire entirely content to follow his lover towards that first water feature that had enraptured Dorian's attention. That lion's head appeared entirely fierce as that water poured from his opened mouth, that animal certainly the first sign of that tatton crest. His own hands were briefly shoved in his pockets as he watched the king lean against that nearby bench only to allow his fingers brush in the water, his touch alone created ripples in that surface.

That suggestion of the installation of a fountain at their home was met with a ready nod, the vampire quite liking the sound of running water. "Perhaps we can place it somewhere we can hear it from the bedroom." He commented idly enough, after all, those upper sections of the home were the ones more often occupied - from Dorian's office to their shared bedroom. They would mere need to find the room and reorganize the landscaping in order to fit such a water feature, it was a prospect he was hardly against in the slightest. That silence fell over the pair for several moments before his lover felt inclined to comment that the water reminded him of something very particular. Sebastian's head tilted to the side as he waited for Dorian to continue, his attention steadfast upon his lover in those moments. A small simper settled on his features at that memory of the state that apartment had been within when Dorian had finally broken down to admit he required help. His head shook ever so slightly, his eyes rolling at the memory of that cricket that had forced the Italian Sovereign from his room. "I remember that night very well." He commented with a grin upon his lips.

Those further memories upon the fae King's lips prompted a soft simper upon Sebastian's features and yet, the Englishman was well aware that water was not the only thing those memories had in common. Each one of them had been a substantial stepping point within their relationship - from the night he'd invited Dorian to live with him to that evening they had physically taken their relationship further and, in turn, that night either of them had finally voiced those three words that had come to mean so much to him. That small simper remained upon his features as his gaze settled upon his lover, his eyes softened at those simple recollections. They were, after all, the very same ones that he himself had dwelled on during the creation of that song. "Yes, you are." He uttered softly, shifting to settle at the King's side. His fingers were pulled from his pockets, one hand fitting under Dorian's chin to draw his gaze upwards as he leaned forward to gingerly press his lips against Dorian's own in a tender but fleeting kiss. "But, I wouldn't have you any other way." Sebastian muttered softly as he pulled away, his forehead bumping against Dorian's own. There was no where else he'd rather be in this very moment then amongst those fountains at the Monarch's side with that setting sun painting the sky those varieties of colors. Soon, he might be able to afford the King that knowledge of all of those feelings that fluttered within his chest at even the mention of those sweet memories - so very soon.
