Sebastian Ellington

Crowned Consort of Italy

Sebastian was hardly ignorant of the effect those bugs had upon his lover. Though he hardly understood that fear himself, and largely considered it irrational, he still made every effort for his boyfriend's comfort. He knew well how much courage it surely must have taken the man to step into that dome and face what was clearly a very real fear, all for the vampire's own benefit. That soft sigh of relief upon Dorian's lips the moment they stepped from the warm confines of that butterfly garden only seemed to confirm how taxing such a short trip within that butterfly infested garden was upon his lover. Gingerly, Sebastian offered that compliment, that warm grin he was presented with in return was somehow...satisfying. For all his indifference upon such bugs, he despised placing his lover in a situation in which he was so blatantly uncomfortable. That simple smile on Dorian's lips somehow had a way of easing that concern for the man, and, in turn, that lingering guilt for even requesting the pair visit that place to begin with. He easily fit his fingers within his lover's own, the man hardly hesitating to allow his lover to lead him away from that dome and the dwindling crowd and towards that small garden of fountains.

That idle comment of those facts he had offered his lover on those insects prompted a small shrug on his shoulders. Truthfully, Sebastian hardly classified himself truly knowledgeable of those insects in the slightest. Those facts largely ones he had only recently learned in his efforts to discern the feasibility of flying those butterflies in purely for that flower show and the glee they might provide their younger visitors. That admittance that even he hardly knew of his ability to draw upon what he'd thought he'd merely read and forgotten during those critical moments prompted a small grin upon his features as he listened to that rich chuckle from his lover. The pair wandered leisurely through those grounds and towards the gurgling sound of that water, the melody itself was somehow relaxing, calming even that heartbeat of his lover as those vibrations upon his finger slowed vastly in the comparison to what they had been within such close proximity to those winged bugs. He watched as the King settled on the edge of a marble bench before that large lion head, his jaws gaping open with pointed teeth as that water flowed out and into the pool below it.

He watched as Dorian let his fingers draw across the surface of that pool, his own hands fitting in his pockets. That sudden declaration that they surely required a fountain at home prompted a soft chuckle to his lips and yet, Sebastian was willing enough to agree to that proposal. It hardly rained enough in Sacrosanct to his liking. The sound of water had always been incredibly soothing to the vampire, if only for the simple fact that it reminded him of home - of England and the summer storms that sometimes waged across those estates. He missed those times and this had a way of bringing that nostalgia back to that busy metropolis. It was surely with that in mind that the man suggested they might place that fountain in a position outside that might best be heard. The idea of leaving those windows open with the curtains drawn to simply listen to that gurgling water was somehow distinctly pleasing. He hardly expected that sudden grin upon his lover's features at the idea, the man quite readily embracing that placement only to declare that, perhaps they need to find one that featured those deer that so had a habit of finding their place within the vampire's homes, peculiar as it was.

Sebastian could hardly help that chuckle on his lips before he nodded, "I could accept this if you can find one." They had become quite the Englishman's own personal totem of sorts, one that he still found himself embracing even if they lacked the ferocity of that lion. It was that declaration of naming the deer that prompted a pointed look from the vampire and yet, that warm grin was still settled upon his features. "Now I know you're just teasing me." He declared and yet, he hardly found fault with the notion all the same. After all, a good guardian deer deserved some acknowledgement, didn't it? His head shook ever so slightly and yet, the vampire allowed them to fall into that near comfortable silence, short though it was. His own gaze shifted from the King in those moments, watching that staff of volunteers as they ushered those last few lingering patrons out. He could hear the sounds of the market beginning to close, the perishables being put away for the night as those gardens were slowly emptied, the show all in all ending for the evening and preparing for another busy day when the sun should rise again tomorrow.

It was the sound of Dorian's voice that drew his attention back to the Italian King, his gaze fluttered towards his lover's hand to eye those water droplets that fell from his fingers. That memory of that fateful evening in which that apartment was near flooded prompted a warm smile upon his features. He hadn't anticipated the state of disarray that apartment had been in when he received that request to visit his lover and yet, it had provided the perfect stepping stone for that invitation he had been considering for several weeks prior to that moment. That night, however, was hardly the only one that water had held such a big part - even he looked back fondly on that bath they'd first taken together. That warm water all but the perfect setting for that change in their sexual relationship, one that he was happy to have pushed to a far more intimate level. He remembered that date the King had set up to surprise him with just as much clarity - from those words whispered in the gardens outside that opera house to that paint that had tainted his dirty blonde locks in the aftermath of that night's coupling. Each of those memories altogether important in the way they had advance their relationship. Tonight, hopefully, would be another amongst those few that both men clearly held dear.

The vampire shifted at his lover's assurance that he was fully capable of making a mess, the man settling on that spot Dorian had made for him. His fingers gingerly brushed under his lover's chin, just enough to tilt his head upwards as his lips pressed sweetly against Dorian's own. That kiss was entirely fleeting, hardly lasting long at all before he pulled away, his forehead bumping gingerly against the Monarch's. That intimacy was far more tender than usual, those displays of affection often far more chaste with the pair were in the eyes of the public and yet, there was no denying the unsurmountable love that existed in even that gesture. He was altogether keen to insist he would have his lover no other way, that second kiss returned just as gently as the one before it. The vampire watched as Dorian shifted, nestling into his lap in the fashion the King so often did. Sebastian leaned back ever so slightly, his hands settled on the back edge of the bench as those bright blue eyes slowly turned upwards, the man content to watch those last few rays of light as they drifted over the horizon. His own thoughts were largely focused upon what was to come, now that night was finally beginning to rise and yet, that simple inquiry upon Dorian's lips was enough to prompt his attention away from the nerves that might have threatened to betray him.

His head shook ever so slightly at that inquiry and yet, he'd hardly forgotten of that invitation to tea. At first, he had thought it little more than a polite gesture but that continued request made him all the more aware of the seriousness of it. "No, she only attends the show in Chelsea...which I do not run." A soft sigh left his lips as he considered that invitation. As much as he hated to admit it, Dorian was certainly right. After today and by the end of this week, the internet would surely be flooded with pictures of them. Hiding their trip here certainly would not be feasible any longer. "I suppose we could make a stop there if you wanted to accept her invitation?" He commented with a soft sigh. It was hardly that Sebastian disliked those plans that were quickly adding up, after all, as he had mentioned but moments earlier, they had forever to live together. A few busy weeks was hardly much in comparison. It was, however, that mention of the press that prompted a groan from the vampire's lips. He had been so busy ensuring the plans of the flower Show and tonight went well that he hadn't even considered the paparazzi - a thing Tatton certainly was not meant for. "I didn't even think of that." He muttered his head leaning back, "Ugh, alright, I'll see what I can do."

He let that silence continue in those moments after, his thoughts largely preoccupied with exactly how he was going to wrestle this problem of the press into submission. In fact, it wasn't until his lover's voice that his focus returned towards the sky and just how dark it had gotten. It was time. His head shook ever so slightly, "No, not yet. The light's should be turning on just about…." He glanced down at that watch he eternally wore upon his wrist ever since Dorian had purchased it for him for Christmas. "....now." Quite on cue, those little white fairy lights near flickered to life, rimming the inside of the hedges of those displays. The stones that made up that makeshift pathway near seemed to illuminate themselves, emitting a soft glow to light the way. "There we are. There is one last garden we haven't seen yet, Ma Biche. Though, I think, I would like to go back to…..being dead, if you don't mind?" He inquired, the vampire presenting his lover with a soft smile in an effort to reassure the man that the seemingly odd request was hardly worth the King's concern. After all, he needed his affinities for what he intended tonight and yet, he could hardly tell his lover that without giving away everything else.
