There was a simple and perfect sweetness to that kiss, fleeing and tender though it was. The both of them, surely, inclined to the memories of those evenings that had been the scene of so many ‘firsts’ between them and yet those were surely but some of the memories Dorian held most dear. They were very sort of memories he was often inclined to think on for the way in which they eternally so seemed to draw that simper to his lips at the mere thought of them. He had so truly never anticipated all that would come of that single, one night stand that evening well over a year ago in front of that blazing bar. Dorian having merely anticipated that, fulfilling though it had been, he would surely never see the charismatic vampire again after that night. After all, it was simply the way such things worked. It was the way they had both worked, to an extent. Yet how thoughts of that very evening had lingered even days after that encounter had ended! Dorian struck even then by how decidedly unusual it had been for him to think on a lover so long and yet thoughts of Sebastian had near continued to linger over and over until chance had seen him find that man again- and again, and again. That very courtship between them occurring so naturally until even that had shifted into something far more. The very sort of committed relationship Dorian had never once held before if only because no other being had ever managed to allure him in quite the same fashion. What had begun as simple lust having shifted into that simple and irrevocable love. His form settled softly back upon that bench then, his head resting within his lovers lap as his gaze drifted upward to that darkened sky and its fading lights. The last of those people now ushered out of those gates.

It was those very gates perhaps, that so seemed to bring forth that query from himself. Dorian content to ask after that English Queen and whether or not they could expect her presence in the coming days. After all, she surely knew they were here, or would by the morning when that plethora of photographs had been posted to social media or various other websites at large. The very notion that Her Majesty attended only the Chelsea Flower Show so had a way of bringing that scowl to his features, fleeting though it was. Those decidedly protective emotions so managing to stir within him at the very idea the English Queen might somehow believe that Tatton Flower Show his own lover had organised might be less worthy of her attention. The idea of it distinctly displeasing to him. The Fae King assured his lover was equally worthy of that recognition and yet for now at least he allowed no further thoughts on it. Dorian instead content to make mention of that tea the Queen was so determined to insist upon. The Monarch so found he was not at all opposed to the idea of that visit his lover suggested, more so, he simply desired to enjoy that time with Sebastian away from those political affairs. Even if only for a week or so. Besides, he was rather assured that it was not truly himself Her Majesty held great interest in- but Sebastian instead. His softly uttered words indicating just as much in that moment. Dorian near readily anticipating that look of disbelief that seemed to register upon his Consorts façade before the man very near seemed to scoff at the idea. Dorian quite unable to prevent that soft chuckle that found its way to his lips. Sebastian, for all he was, so often seemed to underestimate his own importance and influence in turn- even when it came to other Monarchs. It was curious perhaps, the way in which Sebastian had surely been aware of his station and place in life for so very long that it simply seemed a difficult concept for the vampire to accept those ways in which he had distinctly moved up within that social hierarchy. Dorian wholly content to find it near endearing as his own head softly shook, his gaze lifting to meet his lovers own as he spoke softly once more.

“It is a matter of politics, love. She maintains the power, technically, to summon you if she might desire it and yet as a member of the Italian Courts, where you hold such high standing, it would be considered near a slight of sorts to do as such. She would fear offending me and perhaps even you to demand anything of you in that fashion. So she invites us both- as a matter of appropriateness- even if it is only you she wants to see.”

That soft smile found his lips once more, Dorian pausing then to allow his Consort to consider the idea of just what he had suggested. That Sebastian was, essentially, of to higher rank to be summoned in any sense as he might once have been. The Monarch entirely aware that such an idea might yet take a little time to settle within his companion. The idea of the Press and their presence tomorrow so seeming to distract them both then as Sebastian near groaned at the thought. Dorian content to offer that invisibility as something of a final effort should all else fail. It was, perhaps, hardly ideal and yet if that was what it took to so have that time alone with his lover then he remained nothing short of determined to employ it. His head simply nodding as Sebastian’s assurance he would speak with his gate staff all the same. It was that near gentle breeze, grown cool in the night air, that readily seemed to return his attention to Sebastian’s distinct state of living. After all, if he had been hungry then he could most assuredly be cold, could he not? Dorian’s own gaze lifted once more near quizzically to the vampire then before suggesting that perhaps they return to the warmth of the house. Dorian refusing still to allow his boyfriend to suffer any discomfort even though he found that gentle breeze near distinctly pleasant himself.

That gentle shake of the vampires head so saw the Monarch prepare to settle himself within the man’s lap once more- only to be informed that those lights were surely due within a matter of moments. Sebastian’s words near perfectly timed with that sudden flare of brightness! How glorious those lights! That grin that found its way to is features nothing short of dazzling in turn as he rose hurriedly from that bench then. His fingers reached eagerly for those small, rounded lights within the hedging only to crouch gently down to that path and trace those smooth pebbles in turn. Sebastian, it seemed, had near anticipated that question on ‘how’ that so fell from his lips. His silver-hued gaze returned to his lover then as he explained that sun and the way those lights absorbed it. How clever! How wonderful! The very idea that sun could be harnessed in such a fashion beyond his own thinking. Dorian content to near marvel at even the idea before that soft request to return his lover to his vampiric state so saw that smile falter. Sebastian had never once requested such a thing of him, Dorian near inclined to argue if only for that fear of how it might feel to have that life pulled from him. Would it be unpleasant? Would it hurt? Would it feel as if he were dying? The very idea that he might subject his companion to such feelings more than he was willing to bear.

It was Sebastian’s assurance alone that it was perfectly alright that perhaps prompted the Fae King to have his lover stand. Dorian near as unwilling to deny Sebastian what he desired as he was to subject him to his power. His words holding that hint of uncertainty and discontent all the same before his lips pressed gently to the vampires own. The Monarch determined to at least offer some pleasantness to what he was assured might prove otherwise. His affinity readily stole that life from Sebastian and into himself. That fluttering off his lovers heart so clearly felt against his own finger and perhaps, so momentarily, seeing his own near follow suit in that simple instinctive worry for his boyfriend. It took but barely a moment for the last of that life to be drawn from him, Dorian stepping away, his gaze lingering upon each feature of the man he adored if only to assure himself he was entirely well. That small frown that traced his lover’s features was hardly missed, nor that way he flexed his fingers readily. Those words slipping softly from his own lips once more if only to be certain Sebastian was entirely fine. That soft assurance at last seeming to sooth the Monarch. His gaze drifting then to that tempting pathway. Dorian utterly unable to stop himself for inquiring just when they might be able to travel down it.

His hand near eagerly entwined with his lovers own then. Dorian more than willing to allow himself to be led down that glowing pathway. The pair paused at that velvet rope only for Sebastian to near mischievously duck beneath it, Dorian glancing briefly sideways as if he near anticipated to be told off before moving to follow behind him, his hand still firmly clutched in his lover own. It was those first few flowers however that readily seemed to draw his attention, those brilliant white petals near aglow beneath the moonlight. Dorian paused beside a small patch of them to admire them only to note that shift and the presence of those darker flowers amongst them. Those blacks and deep blues and vibrant purples stirring that soft sound of delight from him before he seemed to note those trees for but the first time and those near heart-shaped flowers that hung from them.

“I think this is perhaps my most favourite garden yet.”

He offered simply, that grin still bright upon his features. His simple adoration of flowers and the life that surrounded them, even in the dark, so having a fashion of near enchanting him. That path seemed to darken then before they reached that field within the depths of the garden. His slate-hued gaze drawn readily to that exquisite gazebo in the centre so draped beneath that creeping ivory. That warm grin at the simple beauty of that place faltering but slightly then to be replaced with simple awe at the sight of what he was almost sure was a piano. One that appeared almost like crystal in the gentle light around it so cast by those small candles and the stars above. He had never known Sebastian owned something so beautiful as that. A near swell of emotion tugging at him then at even the mere sight, his heart near fluttering. His words holding but a taint of that emotion at something so lovely.

“It is so beautiful, I have never- oh…..oh!

He had hardly anticipated for Sebastian’s affinity to seize upon that instrument then. That piano near seeming to shimmer in that shower of starlight that saw the Monarch halt abruptly were he stood in simple shock, his eyes widening readily then at those constellations that near seemed alive as they danced upon its polished surface. This by far the most exquisite, most gloriously beautiful piano he had ever seen. Words so entirely seeming to escape him then as his eyes rested upon it, that blank white canvas propped gently against its leg drawing his gaze then, its meaning hardly lost upon him, Dorian so caught between that striking emotion and simple wonder that seemed to render him near speechless as Sebastian gestured softly towards that gazebo in a voice that was barely above a whisper. His own head nodded then, Dorian struggling still for words as his hand tightened in Sebastian’s own. His own words so holding that thickness of emotion already as he so finally managed his own near whisper then, his eyes still wide upon all that existed before him.

“Yes, please.”
