It was almost endearing in a fashion, to so see that soft frown trace his lovers features as that clear consideration overtook him and the vampire was afforded those few moments to think on the precarious position he had perhaps found himself within by engaging within two royal courts. It was, Dorian suspected, a matter that his lover had never been prepared for. For all those years he had lived and all those lessons he had surely had as a boy in the attendance of that English court it would surely have been considered well and truly above his station to ever consider a need to engage in the politics of more than one royal family. Yet, it was that very thought, that very sense of duty and too that simple consideration in which Sebastian so often placed within all his decisions that Dorian found so very attractive in the man all the same. Sebastian was wholly dutiful to those matters he considered important, the vampire doing little without care or thought. It was simply who he was and yet how he adored that very nature of his lover- and too, though he had surely never once so spoken of it aloud, how readily it assured him that Sebastian would hold no issue with living that royal life with him. A life that, simply, was not always easy. Especially when one might need make a decision that held effect over an entire nation. The Monarch assured there was simply none better than his Sebastian, even if he was near assured the vampire would hardly agree with him. That soft simper so finding his lips all the same as his head simply nodded once more at that assertion his Consort did not like to ignore that invitation.

“Do not let it worry you, Bastian. If you wish to take up that invitation then we will. I am not at all put out by it, whatever it is you prefer is quite fine with me.”

There was, Dorian was sure, no need to distress his lover over that decision nor have the vampire worry that it might displease him in any fashion. A week without those politics would surely be delightful and yet, what was but one day to visit the Queen when they had an eternity? Dorian so momentarily considering too that, in time, he may surely need assist his lover in so coming to terms with the very idea that he was no longer just an Earl and that he perhaps held far more sway and influence then he truly realised within the world. That simple thought seeing that warm simper return to his lips. His thoughts drawn then to that paparazzi and how best they might deal with them before the cool of the night air prompted that very query as to whether or not they should retire to the house lest Sebastian find himself cold. Such worries, it seemed, were hardly needed. Dorian readily distracted from such thoughts by the flare of those lights near perfectly on que, the Monarch hurrying from his seat to inspect those bewitching little lights. To think such was brought about by the sun! How much Leonardo would have enjoyed this! How different those dark ages might have been had people made such discoveries as this so much sooner! His simple pleasure in those lights was somewhat short-lived. That sudden request from his boyfriend to be returned to that state of death seeing that grin falter. Sebastian had acted entirely obscure but this entire day and yet this seemed, by far, to be near the most curious request so far. His lover so often seemed to relish that life. The vampire never once asking for its removal.

It took several moments of his own consideration still and too Sebastian’s assertion that he was quite sure he desired it before Dorian so gestured for the man to rise. If Sebastian wished to return to his true vampiric state then whom was he to deny him that? Dorian utterly unable to deny Sebastian anything that was within his power to afford him even if he hardly understood it and indeed near feared how his Consorts body might react to it. His affinity was distinctly gentle in those moments his lips found his companions own, tugging softly at that life within him only to draw it away from him. Dorian near unable to stop that panic that gripped at himself in those moments Sebastian’s very heart seemed to flutter in desperation, his own surely joining it purely through that anxiety before the vampires own seemed to reluctantly accept that death that had been returned to him. The Fae King stepping away only to eye his lover critically once more, seeking that assurance he was entirely well. It was only once he was convinced of Sebastian’s state of wellness that he allowed himself to be led down that pathway and towards that singular garden Sebastian had desired to show him. He ducked easily beneath that velvet rope with but a single sideways glance as if he momentarily feared someone might tell them off and yet if this was Sebastian’s very property he was wholly assured the vampire might be allowed to go anywhere he pleased.

He had hardly anticipated those flowers so strikingly different from anything else they had encountered today. Those exquisite white flowers that near glowed beneath the moons pallor shifted into that intermittent patterning of those plants with blackened petals and those flowers of rich blue and purple that, while dark, seemed to hold their own glow beneath that light. Dorian promptly announcing that this might well be his most favourite garden so far if only for its simple uniqueness and how each flower seemed to hold place within it. His gaze widening readily upon those trees near draped in those heart-shaped plants. It was, he decided, a rather romantic garden. Sebastian’s assurance that it was surely his most favoured garden too only seeing that simper upon his own lips widen before they stepped into that field. It was surely that gazebo within the centre that drew his attention first, that large white structure draped in those creeping vines was nothing short of splendid and yet- it was that piano nestled within it that very near saw the Monarch halt in his tracks. His eyes widened readily at the sight of it. That piano near crystal clear in the night and seeming to embrace even the flickering of those tea candles that softly illuminated its edges. How beautiful it was. The mere sight of it saw a warmth of sorts flood his chest, a thickness of emotion already threatening to swell within him. Dorian so hardly having anticipated this. The simple romance of it near exquisite. His gaze resting softly on that white canvas at the foot of it. If Sebastian so intended to play for him upon that piano and within this field the Monarch was assured there was near no limit to what he might craft on that canvas in turn. The Fae assured the world did not possess enough colour to so allow him to express that emotion that near threatened to overwhelm him with the simple realisation of the thought Sebastian had so surely placed into this moment for him.

That piano near danced beneath that canopy of stars. Dorian knowing well it was his lovers affinity at work and yet he was wholly assured he had never seen the vampire create something so striking as that instrument. That simple shock and awe upon his features surely clear as his hand tightened within Sebastian’s own. Those near whispered words prompting his own as his head nodded. Dorian struggling for those words before at last managing that near soft response. His heart surely betraying him all over again as it near fluttered in that simple delight. In all his life he was near assured no one had ever crafted something so nice for him. The Monarch so considering just how on earth he might express his delight in this as he allowed Sebastian to lead him forward and towards that Piano, Dorian simply unable to prevent his fingers from lightly touching that surface before that soft touch against his shoulders so encouraged him to take up that seat he so often did within their ballroom at home. Dorian settling softly upon that white leather seat as Sebastian paused to hand him that white canvas. His hand reached near readily for his own back pocket and that white pastel he had taken to carrying with him everywhere lest he require it at any moment. The sudden presentation of that white tube of paint seeing him near readily halt. The Monarch staring at it near blankly a moment before tucking that pastel back within his pocket only to take that paint. His features so shifted now into a look of clear confusion. The Fae King so nearly content to comment that he could hardly paint in those watercolours without water only to have that brush and small cup handed to him in turn. This, he was sure, perhaps the most obscure Sebastian had been so far- Dorian taking but a moment to position those things as needed.

That soft utterance that a change of medium might well be nice only further prompted that look of curiosity, why on earth he so required water colours he hardly knew and yet he hardly dared question it all the same. The sheer amount of thought that had clearly gone into this moment was near abundantly clear, Dorian utterly unwilling to question his lover now if it was those water colours he desired he use. The Monarch assured he could craft something splendid with them all the same- Dorian wholly oblivious to the notion that canvas had been designed to reveal another painting entirely when touched with those colours. His silver gaze lifted upward from that canvas then as Sebastian moved to settle beside him. He could near feel that almost….nervous fluttering to Sebastian’s own heart against his finger, dead though the man was in that moment, Dorian wholly aware of that unusual tempo. In all that time they had been together he was near sure he had never seen Sebastian nervous. That soft query as to whether or not he was ready saw his own head nod. That warm simper upon his lips.

“I am.”

He offered softly, his gaze lingering but a few moments longer upon his lover with that near quizzical look before he turned his attention to the canvas as they had done a thousand times before when Dorian sat beside him in that ballroom at home. It took but no more than a few mere notes for the Monarch to so realise that this was a song he did not know, or at least, one he did not recall Sebastian playing for him before in all those evenings they had practised the vampires affinity.

“I do not know this one.”

He uttered quietly, more to himself perhaps in that moment, his gaze briefly lingering upon Sebastian fingers as they danced across those keys in a fashion Dorian had always admired before his attention shifted to that canvas before him. His affinity for that paint content to flare near in time with Sebastian own, embracing it, encompassing it, until those brushstrokes near crafted themselves in a near perfect harmony with those notes. It was gold at first, gold and orange like…..fire and warmth and passion- like that night they had met. That brush swinging in a dance all its own across that canvas, one guided entirely by Sebastian’s own notes. Pink after that perhaps, because pink was like lust, not the red of love, not yet but a vibrant sort of pink that twirled about with an anxiousness of sorts that so reminded the Monarch distinctly of that night he had found Sebastian that second time upon the docks. The man unaware of that smile that had crept onto his lips. His lover’s affinity having embraced him entirely in that moment until those very memories, it seemed, that had been used to craft that piece, so seemed to dance within his own mind and translate to colour upon that canvas.

That near swirling pink shifted into a deeper blue of sorts then, one whose strokes were smooth and assured and tinted with gold that flowed like the edges of the petals of a carnation. Blue for water and Sebastian’s favoured colour and for depth of emotion perhaps, one so tipped with the gold of his own chosen colour and the simple pleasure that colour brought like the touch of the sun or the richness of those feelings of simple…..happiness that came with nights beneath those stars. Like now. His gaze glancing briefly upward and through that canopy to eye those stars above- just like that night they had admired those constellations and they night Sebastian had taught him those dances and the night he had finally admitted his feelings to his lover. All beneath those stars. That brush shifting to add those touches of white and silver before those feelings within him shifted again, that paint dancing beneath an almost peaceful, serene shade of green and a red that grew ever deeper and twisted like a red thread about that green stem of sorts. That feeling of lust still remained and yet what had been nervousness and growing emotion had shifted to a deeper emotion, a bond, that love seeming to suddenly an abruptly encompassing everything, Dorian’s hand near faltering with that intensity of it, the canvas near entirely coloured then with those shades of changing tone embraced by that red that connected them all. It was simply…..everything. That love was everything.
