Sebastian Ellington

Crowned Consort of Italy

The Englishman was entirely willing to wander down that patterned pathway, hand in hand with the fae he called his own. He was hardly in any sort of rush to reach their destination, even though each step that let him closer towards the heart of that garden so filled him with a hint of apprehension for what he knew was shortly to come. He eyed those flower shaped hearts upon those trees that lined the pathway, that flowerbeds around them near filled to the brim with foliage that had been specifically chosen for this very night. This garden, unlike the others, he was almost inclined to keep if only for the memories it might surely offer them in the years to come. Even Sebastian could scarcely deny the beauty of that garden - it was a wonder he had not truly been able to appreciate in his brief overview of that place the previous night. Even so, Sebastian was more than content to simply lead the Monarch further into the depths of that garden, past those vibrant colors that lined the flowerbeds. The lighted pathway underfoot slowly fell into darkness with each further step until it resembled little more than a regular path, allowing that gazeebo within that opening to quite near take the center stage.

The simple sight of that small structure with those vines that crept upwards and around those ivory pillars seemed enough to stop his lover within his very tracks. His own dark blue eyes fell upon that crystalline piano, the vampire entirely pleased to see those preparations had been tended to within his absence. Everything was exactly as it was supposed to be - and with all the effort he had placed within creating that air of romance within this very moment, he surely would have accepted no less. His affinity quite abruptly embraced that piano, changing that glass surface into something else entirely. That scene that had already been beautiful was quickly transformed into nothing short of breathtaking as he allowed those stars to dance across the clear surface, sparkling and twinkling as they quite near came alive upon that surface. A small hint of satisfaction crossed his lips at the sight of all he had completed, his dark blue eyes briefly turned towards his lover's own, the man keenly searching those features for some sort of indication upon the King's thoughts. That sudden tightness of the man's hold upon his hand prompted that simper to widen and yet, those words he offered to his lover were but a mere whisper in the quietness of that night.

It took a moment for that answer to come and yet, it did, somewhere between that steadily increasing beat of his lover's heart within his chest. It was almost as if the Monarch knew of his intentions, as doubtful as that surely was. He had been so careful to ensure all of this had been kept from his lover. Even so, Sebastian was hardly inclined to linger, instead gingerly leading the Monarch those last few steps closer towards that Piano and the gazebo that awaited them. He was hardly surprised by the fashion in which the fae reached out to run his fingers along that glass surface, the action alone prompted a soft chuckle from Sebastian's own lips. He allowed Dorian's fingers to linger but briefly before his hands reached out to gingerly press against the Monarch's shoulders, gently pushing him down onto that seat in the fashion he so often took before Timothy. He reached down towards that canvas, those blue eyes looking over the surface to ensure it was the proper one - this singular object so desperately important to that whole evening he'd crafted. It was only once he was satisfied that he handed it to the King, pausing to fish within his own pocket to pluck that tube of paint he'd been carrying all day just for this.

Sebastian hardly missed that puzzled look upon Dorian's features as he near stared blankly at that tube and yet, slowly, the man's fingers reached out to take that offered paint. He hardly hesitated before plucking that wet brush from the top of that piano, handing it too to the Monarch in turn. That look of curiosity only seemed to increase at that idle comment of that change of art supplies and yet, Sebastian was almost surprised that his ever curious boyfriend failed to ask why. Dorian so often tended to notice even those small changes, enough so to note those little peculiarities that Sebastian had taken in preparation for tonight alone. In fact, Dorian had commented on each and every one of those things that this one prompting near silence within his lover almost seemed odd in itself. Still, he was hardly intending to complain in the slightest, after all, his own nerves were already taking flight like butterflies within his stomach as he moved around the man to settle beside him in front of that instrument he so dearly loved.

He was aware, vaguely, of the fashion in which his heart would surely have betrayed him in that moment and yet, his own thoughts were decidedly focused on that singular song. Softly, he inhaled, attempting to steady his nerves and reassure himself of his capabilities to play that song. He knew each and every note, he'd played it every second he could when Dorian was other wise preoccupied in his efforts to be able to perform that song near perfectly for tonight. Those dark blue eyes turned from that keyboard as his fingers hovered above those starting notes, the vampire inquiring if his lover was ready. That simple nod and the warm smile presented upon Dorian's lips prompted a small nod of his own, his gaze turning back towards that piano. His fingers so effortlessly picked out those keys that started that song, his own affinity quite quickly embracing those notes and, in turn, allowing those feelings that fluttered within his to be carried within the melody. It was that harmony that was meaningful only to them - one that so told of their own story from start to finish.

It was hardly surprising that even within those first few notes, the King seemed to notice that this song was somehow different from all the others Sebastian had played before. Even the Englishman was guilty of repeating some of those songs within that ballroom, the man enjoying the way they played or the way they sounded enough to repeat several of them. This one, however, had never before seen the light of day, this one was so wholly unique. His head bobbed at that observation and though there was a chance those words were hardly directed to him, Sebastian had found a sort of placidity within that simple playing, enough so that answering hardly took any more thought than breathing did. "It's the first time it's ever been performed." He answered simply enough, as if that surely would explain Dorian's lack of knowledge. For all those manors and estates, for all those wealthy clothing he wore, Sebastian was hardly inclined to actually inform any of his achievements - be it financially, romantically, or even as simple as admitting he had written this for his lover alone. Besides, he was fairly certain it was hardly the origin of that song that mattered, much less the adventure that had gone within it's crafting so much as the effect it had upon his love and his innate desire to share that love he so held for the Italian King.

He could feel the King moving beside him as the man busied himself with that paintbrush and that paint. His own blue eyes slid towards that canvas, simply watching from his periphery as that colors began to bleed across the edge of that canvas in colors vibrant and passionate and near fiery - just like that very night they had met. That soft simper crossed his features as he played on, letting that beginning of that music change from that initial lust to those steady undertones of something else. He could see from the corner of his gaze, that pink hue that had begun to dart across the surface of that canvas, that color encountering that rubber cement, those white lines almost stark against that pink, though they hardly seemed to sensical in any fashion. With each new fresh turn to that song - from lust to the beginning feelings of that crush - more and more of those lines began to be revealed, connecting and swirling in places that, although purposeful, still was missing something to turn them into anything meaningful.

Even despite the way his lover's gaze turned upwards and away from that canvas, Sebastian's fingers hardly stopped moving, shifting from one key to the next as those feelings shifted once again, that final twist altogether distinct as that song turned to reflect that simple and all-encompassing love the vampire felt for his boyfriend, that emotion quite clearly growing to eclipse near every other one, the sheer intensity of those colors quite clearly danced across that canvas, that red hue somehow connecting everything it touched, the simple presence of it somehow bleed to that painting beneath that had not yet been touched, finally revealing those last few lines to connect those words written in white. That handwriting was quite near distinct - those letters so fluid and decoratively written in that same script of sorts that Sebastian had used but once before on that invitation all those months ago. The white of that cement quite near stuck out even amongst those colors to spell out four simple words - 'Will you marry me?'
