Sebastian Ellington

Crowned Consort of Italy

That look of confusion across Dorian's features hardly went unnoticed, after all, as much as he denied it, the Monarch had been entirely right. He had certainly been acting out of the norm all day and yet, today was certainly not a normal day in the slightest. Every facet of that day had been done with the Italian man in mind. He had chosen here if only for his assurance that Dorian would find delight in that flower show, a fact which he had certainly been incredibly correct in, if the day had shown anything. He had chosen every facet of that garden with such thought and care as to amaze his lover, that piano had been so delicately crafted if only for what he knew he was capable of doing with it, and, in turn, that song made to show the man just the extent of that love he held for him. Everything tonight had been for Dorian alone, a fact that clearly seemed to be dawning upon the man, prompting a silence from him at those continued peculiarities that even Sebastian regarded with a sort of apprehension. The truth of the matter, however, was that those butterflies had finally beset the man with those full range of nerves, what with his intention to ask Dorian surely the most important question of either of their lives.

He settled in front of that piano, that man taking a deep breath in an effort to calm that apprehension that fraught his frame. It was unlike the usually confident Englishman to waver in such a fashion and yet, truly, he feared the answer he might receive from his lover. His heart, he was certainly, could not take being denied by the King, not in this. That soft brush of Dorian's hand against his shoulder quickly drew his thoughts from such a path, his attention wholly refocusing upon that piano and those keys in front of him. Those dark blue eyes briefly fluttered towards the King as he inquired whether or not his lover was ready. That warm simper and firm nod he was given was met with a bob of his own head. It was time. His fingers brushed across those keys with a measure of certainty, that affinity quickly rushing to life to embrace those notes and yet, this time, he hardly made that effort to control that ability. Rather, he let that power quite near rush forward in an almost wild fashion, so easily embracing the King to drag him along those emotions that had encompassed the entire span of his relationship with the man.

That song was somehow distinct amongst those numerous classical pieces he'd played for the man over the past year. It was somehow softer, even as those first few notes fluttered with ease across that keyboard to signify those first few nervous moments of that meeting over a year ago. He was hardly surprised by that keen observation on his lover's part, after all, Dorian had far better of a musical ear then most, the man often beginning to place those songs or artists that the vampire particularly enjoyed. Even so, he was hardly willing to admit that song was different solely because the composer was entirely new to his lover. Instead, he chose an almost vague way of admitting that those notes had never before seen the light of day, beyond, of course, Arlo's contribution to that song. He was, however, intently aware of the way Dorian seemed to falter, his gaze often shifted between those keys and that canvas within Dorian's lap. Those words hidden beneath that crisp white surface were of such importance that he greatly desired to see that singular moment when the realization of all of this dawned upon the King. His gaze was drawn from such careful observation of that canvas by those softly whispered words, those dark blue eyes but briefly met the silver of his lover's own before darting back to those ivory keys. Slowly, his head bobbed in agreement. "Yes, I did." He uttered softly, the vampire saw no reason to deny that simple fact.

He knew well that Dorian would understand the meaning behind that simple fact, much less the emotions that the song in itself would surely bring his lover. Those words of adoration often went unspoken between the pair and yet, he was fairly certain that there was not a doubt between either of where their affections lie. Rather, the vampire made every effort to ensure those nights he went out to hunt or came home smelling of someone else also came hand in hand with some sort of treat for the Monarch, as childish as such actions might be, he almost needed the man to know though though his evening might have been spent momentarily with someone else, his thoughts and his heart never strayed from the man he adored so greatly. It was that very thought of that love he had for the man that he eagerly poured into that song, letting his affinity grasp strongly at those feelings till each and every note began to be filled with that near eclipsing love that he held for the man. What had started as something sweet and featherly and light nw become a veritable wave of emotion - one that was reflected even upon that canvas as those lighter free colors turned into something far deeper - accented with that very shade of the vibrant, strong thread that connected them together. It was only in the flood of that color that the white of those words became clear - that proposal finally offered to the King, even if the man hardly seemed to know it as those final notes so sweetly died off into silence.

His own dark blue eyes shifted from that piano to his lover at the sound of his name and yet, he said rather little as Dorian began to praise him on that piece of music. Rather, his eyes fell upon that painting his lover had done, Dorian's own gaze quite quickly following suit only for that sentence to so abruptly halt. It was in that silence that he was so utterly assured Dorian had seen that question and yet, time seemed to feel as if it stretched on for near eternity as Sebastian's eyes rose to watch the King simply stare at those words. Those seconds seem to stretch on for far longer than they should have before that silver gaze rose to meet his own. He could feel those butterflies turning into knots in his stomach as those moments ticked by and yet it was that final singular word that so bought the vampire such relief. Yes. He could hardly help that soft breath of air that left his lips in the wake of that moment as Dorian quite near threw himself against him. His arms quickly encircled the King's waist, drawing him closer as his head leaned gingerly against Dorian's own. Yes. That simple answer almost seemed to reverberate within his thoughts, drawing that grin upon his lips. Those words uttered against his skin surely only made his heart beat faster in that adrenaline inducing aftermath. Such admittances as this were so rare that to be told he was Dorian's world was something he surely would not forget. "And you are mine." He uttered softly, the vampire entirely content to pull the man into his lap in those moments, desiring that blissful closeness that came so naturally from this.

His gaze rose as Dorian finally pulled away from him, that grin still settled upon his features as the Monarch reached up to wipe that wetness from his eyes. That inquiry that followed of his strangeness was met with a small, and yet altogether knowing shrug. That inquiry, followed by the near abrupt assertion that it hardly mattered drew a soft chuckle from his own lips and yet the whole of his attention was so entirely focused upon Dorian alone in that moment. That press of the King's lips against his own was eagerly returned, the vampire entirely willing to deepen that small display of affection, that glee still quite poignant within him to finally have an answer to that notion of marriage that had been lingering over him for near months. He was wholly content to steal several kisses from the King in the wake of that first initial one before finally pulling back just enough to answer that question Dorian had first presented him with. "I've been working on it for a few months…I have...this for you too...I wasn't sure of you'd want it now or...later." A small shrug crossed his shoulders as the vampire slid his hand into his pocket, pulling out a small velveteen black box.

It took a moment to flip open that lid with one hand before Sebastian presented Dorian with that ring. Frankly, he was hardly sure if it the was even warranted. Women, as was traditional, wore two rings, one during the engagement and a second after the wedding. His own gender hardly held the same rules and yet, it hardly felt right to propose without one at all either. That ring was golden colored in hue, the shade he knew Dorian preferred, the center of which had been set with seven diamonds chosen with care for their clarity and shine. The inside of that ring held a small notch within it that circled the ring, that little indentation filled with a small red thread - their red thread. It had taken particular effort to have that ring custom made for his lover particularly with the addition of what was so uniquely theirs alone. He reached into that box to pull that ring from it's place snug upon the cushion. He handed it gently towards the King with the intention to at least allow the man to further inspect that piece of jewelry that would come to signify their commitment together for an eternity.
