Anna had tried Sebastian’s way of feeding; only taking from the willing and not draining them. However, it was hard…and boring, she lacked any nicety of a power to make it as easy as it was for Sebastian. She found herself disliking the task of feeding as it was so much more work than it used to be. It proved difficult for her to first find a willing person that wasn’t tainted with some sort of alcohol which she abhorred how it changed the taste of their blood. The willing people seemed to only be in vampire clubs and that also irritated her; they were far too loud. Then there was the issue of not draining them which meant she never felt truly full. So this whole being nice thing lasted about 3 days until she went back to her ways.

Damon had given her what advice he could in their short little session on how to at least pretend to be a ‘tamed’ vampire seeing as her attempt to make it true didn’t work out. If it worked for him then Anna-Marie was sure it would work for her with Sebastian. Surely she could pretend enough for him to at least stick around to play other games with her. He was hers after all, her very blood made him what he was…she found the possessive part of her brain demanding he owed her that much.

That last time she had wandered down this street was the night in which Sebastian had revoked his word on her being with him and also when whoever it was caused her to fall asleep. It still boiled her beneath that he went back on those words. However it would not keep her from him. The petite French girl stared up at that manor her childe resided in for a moment before following a side garden path to the back of the building. From those double glass doors that led into the kitchen she was able to see a woman working in the kitchen. It was with the stealth of their species that Anna entered that kitchen while the woman’s back was turned, lost within the pantry looking for something. Only when the woman closed the pantry door did she yelp slightly in surprise at the sight of Anna standing right there revealed by the door looking up at her.

Anna tilted her head slightly, mentally going over everything Damon had told her before she spoke. “Who’re you?” “I..uh..I’m Elizabeth. Who are you?” Elizabeth was honestly shaken from the startle but appeared mostly confused. “My name’s Anna-Marie. May I have some cookies and tea please?” And that confusion continued. “Oh…I..suppose. But, what are you doing here?” Elizabeth cautiously moved to the stove and put water on for the tea before laying out some tea cookies onto a plate on the island. Anna slowly climbed up to sit on her knees on the stool to lean slightly on the island and nibble on the cookies. “Are you lost?” Elizabeth tried to prod again to which Anna shook her head. “Sebastian lives here. I want to see him and play a game.”

The whistle of the teapot broke Elizabeth’s stare, taking the pot and pouring it into the delicate china teacup. “I’ll let him know you’re here.” Really that was all she could do. After placing Anna’s teacup in front of her, Elizabeth pressed the intercom on the wall to call up to Sebastian’s office. “Mr.Ellington, an Anna-Marie is here to see you.” She returned to attention to the child who had a soft pleased smile on her face as she sipped her tea, “Do you like to play games too?” This Elizabeth was Sebastian’s thing so Anna showed restraint and wouldn’t harm her and that was the girl’s saving grace. Elizabeth perched herself on a stool opposite of Anna. “I can’t say I’ve had time for games in a long time. I enjoy reading in my free time. What games do you like?” Anna shrugged slightly at Elizabeth’s question, her gaze wandering to the doorframe. “I want to play….chess. I remember a chess table here.” “Oh yes, Mr. Ellington and Mr.Aragona play that quite a bit.” And so Anna sat, making idle talk with Elizabeth waiting for Sebastian. The very picture of civilized.
