    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

dance to the rhythm of your heartbeat

Oh, if her mother and father could see their little girl now, meandering down a city street under the dark of night with nothing but the occasional spotlight from the lamps that hung far above her head to light the path ahead of her. It never ceased to amaze her just how different the world looked under the blue-black sky compared to the crisp baby blue of day. The buildings took on a much more foreign feeling now, seeming to tower even higher than they had before when the sun would cast its golden rays upon their pointed and gleaming bodies of glass and cold steel. Some were like beacons, not too unlike the lighthouses that would be perched on jagged cliffs to guide the ships at sea and protect them from sailing too close to the shoreline where surely their bottoms would be speared by the cruel coral below, crashing waves swallowing them as they sunk to the deep abyss that lay in waiting. Other buildings however were nothing more than dark shadows, eerily silent as little dared to stir through the seemingly deserted streets of eastern Sacrosanct. If her parents knew of her mission by moonlight, she had little doubt in her mind that they would be sick to their stomachs with fear for their daughter who likely wouldn’t stand much of a chance against a stranger with ill intentions. They would likely demand that she return home, giving her no say in the matter as they would bring that u-haul with them and busily begin packing her things into the vehicle and taking her back to the safety that was Willowhaven. What they don’t know won't hurt them… Such unwise thoughts for someone so brazenly tempting the darker life forms that unbeknownst to her knowledge stalked the city when the sun went down.

As a child, the blue-eyed blonde had been a brave creature. That was what her family had always told her anyway. She’d had little to no hesitations in approaching those she did not know, that sweet little smile playing across her face so full of youthful innocence and trust. How easily it could have all been crushed in a matter of moments, and yet nothing had been able to cause that ever open-hearted and trusting nature to leave Beylani. If anything, she had somehow managed to retain that light of warmth and kindness through all the years, through the almost merciless years of her school education as the other kinds would tease her for being small, for always carrying that cheap little camera she’d gotten for her 7th birthday. Those hadn’t always been the easiest times for the child, and yet she had survived somehow and more. She had thrived in spite of those peers of hers trying to make her become insecure and deathly uncertain of where it was that she belonged in this world. That was not to say that they had not shaken her, for there had been many days where she’d gone home crying to her mother about the things that they’d said to her. Her mother had always been able to soothe those soft cries from the blue-eyed blonde girl then, easily restoring the young thing’s faith in life and as she grew older with each passing year, she grew a little stronger and a little more confident. Now, here she was, a young woman that despite the uncertainty dancing in her words she ushered quietly into the dark alley of Sacrosanct held an inner strength and courage that was bound to find her in a trouble one day. It was only a matter of time.

Instinct. Sure, she had that feeling in her gut that told her she should just turn around and return to the safety of her apartment. Yes, she knew that any wiser person would likely have never gone looking for that tall, dark man in the dead of a cold fall’s night and simply locked the door behind them when they’d returned to their apartment. Beylani knew what the right course of action had been long before those arms had slipped into her double-breasted trench coat that caused her to stick out in stark white against midnight black broken only by the light of the street lamp she stood beneath, but she’d done exactly what she usually had a tendency to do. Ignore it. She was instead driven by the desire to find Andras, stubbornly adamant that she had to thank him for the camera that she carried carefully beneath the folds of the trench coat, arms across her chest as slender fingers gripped the slick body of the Nikon d5. Whoever it was that lurked in the shadows, they would not be taking this from her. Not if she could do anything about it. To Beylani, it held just as much meaning and sentiment to her as the camera he’d so readily destroyed beyond repair – if not more. She did not have her wallet with her so there would be no money for the young woman to offer the stranger in the dark, but she would figure something out. There was no answer to her call, but then again, she hadn’t really expected one. The way she saw things, there were really only two possible outcomes for this very moment in her life. One being that she was simply imagining things, that her less than pleasant initial run-in with the fae she was searching for right now had simply gotten the best of her nerves – for all the right reasons – and she would find it all in her imagination as she desperately hoped were true. The second, there truly was someone (or something) in the shadows and once again she found herself facing a life and death situation she’d walked into all too willingly. Ah, but of course she denied any real possibility that the second could even happen. That was only in scary movies…

His voice comes from nowhere and everywhere all at once and she feels her heart practically leap out of her chest, despite those silken smooth honey and molasses tenors that sent a shiver through her slender frame. She turns so suddenly on her heels that she nearly stumbles, the rapid beating of her heart drumming wildly in her ears as baby blue eyes are wide in clear and undeniable surprise and startle. He was only just barely out of swinging range, not that the blue-eyed blonde would have swung at him simply for the fact that she now tightly clutched onto the camera through her coat instinctively. Good call, right? Protecting the gift hidden beneath the waterproof fabrics instead of her own body? Although, could anyone truly blame her? The last time she found herself in a moment where she’d been stricken with fear, someone had ripped away her camera and crushed it so while it may not be the wisest call in the world, her reaction had at least some justification behind it. When finally her mind slowed enough for her to realize that she was safe now and that Andras had found her, she finally dared to draw a small breath and free it in the form of a relieved sigh.”Oh, Andras. It’s you”, she says almost breathlessly as though it felt like she had been holding her breath for who knows how long (and she probably had been without even realizing it). Baby blues find that lazy smile upon his lips despite the words that slipped effortlessly past them and she can’t help but feel her previous anxieties from the unnerving sensation ebb away.

The fae man looks away and into the shadows for a moment before those hazel eyes find her baby blues and he offers his shoulder to her. Again, she feels her cheeks grow warm though not nearly as flushed as she’d been when he'd kissed her hand in farewell. Yes, she was still unable to shake that memory and it likely wouldn’t leave her for a long while yet. He nods his head back the why she’d come as he speaks smooth yet scolding words and this time she has no defiant or sharp comeback. She pulls the camera from its protective shelter and now holds in to her chest while she takes his shoulder now, not really sure what else to do and still trying to wrap her mind around the surprisingly gentleman-like mannerisms he exercised, reminding her of Dorian. Again, he reiterates the dangers she had yet to see as now they begin to walk back towards Riverdale.”I know and I’m sorry, but I had to find you. To thank you”, she says in return. She couldn’t quite explain the impulsive need that had led her to trek through the darkness in hope that she would find him when she hadn’t even the slightest idea where to begin, but she felt compelled to at least try.”These are very expensive and I just couldn’t accept it, not without finding you to thank you personally”, she says warmly as a sweet smile dances across those blush-colored lips while she walks in step beside him. She wanted to tell him how sweet the gesture was, how much it really meant to her, but then he distracts her momentarily with his next string of smoothly ushered words and that ever familiar curiosity chases away any thoughts that her decision had, once again, been much too brash.”Better late than never to accept my invitation, though it’s a bit late for breakfast. Do you, um, like coffee?”. The real question on her mind was if he even needed things like human food or water, but what else could she say to suggest that she was hopeful that he would stay a while and truly muse her tirade of questions that began to cause baby blues to glitter excitedly. There were so many questions, she didn’t even know where to begin.
