Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. Although these houses are somewhat small (often two to three bedrooms) they feature back yards, porches, garages and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and for the neighborhood as a whole.

    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

death incarnate & night triumphant

Frankly, Andras was surprised at her blunt answer in regard to his question. As he simply blinks at Lani for a moment, he’s silent, contemplating her words as they move down the darkened streets. It’s a moment before he replies, but when he does, Andras tilts his head to look down at her, “I’m Fae. Even if I had left that box there a mere second prior to your return, I could have been miles away at that point,” he says directly, no tone of arrogance coating his lyrics, merely the man stating something to be true. Without removing his gaze from her, he considers the second part of her statement briefly.

“Just because we met at night, Lani, doesn’t mean that I only come out when the sun goes down,” he sighs, “Ah, perhaps you changed your mind and you truly think me to be a winged monster and I only come out to play at dusk,” he winks, a playful note entering his tone, whether she believed him to be made of nightmares was entirely up to her, if she were a smart girl she would remain away from him, yet here they were. “A word of advice, darling,” he says, his eyes twinkling with mischief, “If I don’t want to be found I won’t be found. Don’t go wandering around again at night, especially alone. I can’t make it a habit to keep showing up when you need something,” he drawls, that lazy smile returning to his lips.

As she thanks him, he merely brushes it away. It was true, he never apologized for his actions nor did he plan on it. The safety of his court came first and if his whereabouts were compromised, it wouldn’t take long for his lodge to be found, at least until he could finish the blasted spells to hide the damn thing. Such a frustrating issue. Allowing the thoughts to be shoved away, he instead, is brought back to awareness with the sarcasm that so left Lani’s lips. Arching a brow in amusement, he allows a dark chuckle to emit from him as he merely gives her a small nod.

“Why yes, I tend to always be right, wouldn’t you agree?” he purrs at her, that humor so coating his words.

It isn’t much longer before they reach the familiar apartment building, moving up the stairs side by side. And for the moment, they are quiet, though it isn’t uncomfortable, just a conversation that came to a close on its own. As he gestures forward and motions for her to open the door, he allows his baritones to tell her that he is all hers for the night. Delight sparkles in that dark gaze as he notes the blush that creeps up her neck and settles on her delicate features. Such male satisfaction emits from him, how he enjoyed making the woman before him bashful.

Following her inside, he closes the door quietly behind them, trailing after her towards the table which holds the box he had delivered earlier. Flicking his eyes down towards the open package, he arches a brow at the note that found its way into his hand, “I’m astounded you read the note and still went perusing through the night,” he sighs. Replacing the note back into the box, he lifts his eyes and casually inspects the apartment, his features masked in that of calm once more. Andras watches her carefully as she moves towards the kitchen and begins preparing the coffee, those words casually tossed over her shoulder to make himself comfortable.

Oh, that he would.

Finding the couch, he relaxes into the seat, slinging his arms across the back of it, and placing an ankle on his knee. His frame nearly dwarfed the couch but the Fae was entirely comfortable in her small apartment, “And why do you think that I’m used to bigger homes?” he casually asks her, that smirk dancing upon his lips once more. Of course, his lodge was extravagant and though he had lodging within the establishment, it was meant to be for his court members. His home within the city was comfortable, small, merely two bedrooms, a townhouse and he didn’t particularly care for it to be fancy. It was still bigger than the apartment but he was certain it would surprise Lani.

As she continues working on the coffee, facing away from him for the time being, he allows his eyes to travel her, in a mere inspection, as if he could learn in that moment why he was drawn to such a human girl. It isn’t long before she turns back to him, a question already forming on her lips. Andras supposed he shouldn’t be surprised she was jumping straight into the interrogation, he would have been disappointed if she didn’t. However, he was amused at where she started her questioning.

“Somewhere very far away from here,” he says, a faint smile adorning those midnight lips. It wasn’t a lie, Sacrosanct wasn’t home to him. His home lay on another continent, deep in the mountains yet it had been reduced to nothing but ash and rubble. Perhaps one day he would return to it, but the Fae still pictured the horrors in his mind, it painted his nightmares; that destruction. Quickly shoving the memories away, “And what of you? I don’t believe you’re from Sacrosanct or you would be aware of the terrors that lurk here,” he states, an observation he made on their first meeting.
