    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

dance to the rhythm of your heartbeat

Young though she may be, still a fair number of years away from even being just a quarter of a century old, Beylani would like to say that she had lived well thus far and in her time walking this world she seemed to know so very little about, there were lessons that she had learned along the way to where she was tonight. A number of them applied to the days that came and went, like how the best way to look at each new day given one was given was to search the horizon for something bright and beautiful rather than remaining with gaze turned down to the ground one walked, afraid that should they look too far ahead footing would be last and they would find themselves stumbling or falling, and just maybe losing that will to stand back up, dust off their knees, and start walking once more. That was not to say that one should not be careful as to where each step was placed. It was wise to be cautious of where the path might bend or dip, where stones would rise with a lust to trip those who tread on that path over which shuffling feet strode across. It was natural to be wary of falling, uncertain on if there would be a strength or willingness to try again. Yet in the very same moment, tripping or failing along the way to wherever one's path might lead was also entirely and completely natural - if not inevitable. The blue-eyed blonde had figuratively tripped or fallen a time or two in her short life, but each time that she had, she'd been able to pick herself back up and continue on though admittedly there were also a few times where she'd not been so sure she would have been able to get back up and keep fighting if not for the metaphorically outstretched and encouraging hands of her family. After all, the wonderful thing about falling only to stand again was that each time, not only were other lessons of life also learned like how from caring grows courage or how taking time to smell the roses was so often worth the time spent rather than living with eyes set straight ahead and nowhere else, but one also becomes even just a little stronger than they'd been before they'd stumbled on their way towards that thing that called to their hearts, something so many had named Destiny.

As the young woman walks beside her tall, dark, and undeniably attractive fae companion, she also remembers another saying that'd she'd either read or heard somewhere before; all things happen for a reason, even if it is an eternity sometimes that it takes to learn those reasons. She cannot help but think back on that night they had first encountered one another, cannot help remembering how wild fear has shifted and changed into boundless fascination that in turn seemed to whisper of deeper waters still unexplored between herself and the mysterious Andras. How dark and intimidating he had been at her poor decision and yet here he was, bantering with her and seeming to be entirely prepared for the countless questions that Beylani's curiosity craved the answers to although she was also quite certain that even in light of the answers he would likely provide in an attempt to quiet her wonder of him his kind, several new questions would burst from that one answer. There was doubt that she would learn all there was to know about the fae folk in a single night, and for more reasons than she herself was completely aware of in this moment as they enter her apartment and she moves to prepare refreshments for what promised to be a long night with the one she considered her newest friend, she is hopeful that there will be many more nights like this one. She can feel those hazel eyes upon her skin, and perhaps some would have either shrunk beneath it or maybe even grown bolder from the almost tangible feeling of his lingering gaze but neither were the effects that the young woman had. She wasn't anything truly extraordinary in her own opinion of herself, being slender and feminine while being far from the skinny size zero women she'd seen strolling along the sidewalks of Sacrosanct. No, there was a slight curve to her frame - though far from extravagantly pronounced - from the c-cup breasts that sloped gently into her waist only to meet the curve of those hips in what many considered to be a subtle hourglass body type. She did not have the large hips or bust of many well known women throughout the world that were nearly idolized by men and women alike. Beylani was modest and deemed herself to be nothing more than simple and plain, or so she had always grown up believing even when she began to catch the attention of high school boys as she walked by them. She thought little of how she might be considered beautiful, instead choosing to see the beauty of the world and those around her rather than her own radiance she wore so often in that sweet smile of hers. She was happy with who she was and in the end that was all that mattered.

Those midnight tenor tones fill the small space of her apartment and again she feels her curiosities encouraged by his words that seemed both teasing and yet hinting at a true danger the blue-eyed blonde had yet to witness with her own eyes. Surely if fae people were as real as she was, then there had to be other races out there? What of the creatures that stalked the night with an eternal thirst for the blood that raced through her veins? And the beasts that appeared entirely too human to be noticed until the time came that they shifted into what was their true form? She does not speak on her wonderings just yet, not of what else might exist in Sacrosanct that she had been told throughout her life was nothing but myth or legend, stories meant to frighten and fascinate but nothing more. There was time to learn of such things later. For now, it was likely best for both of them that the eager young woman do her best to try and keep her innumerable questions focused in one particular place instead of in every direction that she could easily pull a curious question from. The first one she's met (to her knowledge anyway) was a faeirie, so she wanted to start there as it made the most sense to her. She listens attentively as he speaks on his assumption she'd made of his clothes, and she finds confirmation in his words that he had money enough to dr3sd in such fine garments and it is something that Beylani simply processing through her thoughts and moves on to the next curious tidbit of information about his chosen style, caring little about the wealth he appeared to wield - especially considering the gift he'd gotten her - while many women would have possibly latched on with vain interest in this subtle and easily brushed away fact. Like Andras, money meant little to the blue-eyed blonde. She only ever hoped to have enough so that she might live comfortably and nothing more. She enjoyed the extravagant and the higher class things that came with wealth, but it has never been something she dreamt tirelessly of though she would not deny the fascination that little up her gaze as he spoke of how the fae race revelled in it despite their wildly long lives. He continues on now as he speaks more about himself than his kind, and while she is curious about just what it was that Andras did, she decided that she wouldn't pry too far into his life. Some things she did not need to know, like the cologne he wore... or the softness of his dark hair...

He leans forward as she moves to place the cookies on the coffee table and sits beside him, a mischievous look gleaming in those hazel eyes of his and he does not even spare a glance to the powdered treats on that white plate, instead remaining locked onto her baby blues which suddenly grow shy as warmth finds her cheeks yet again when he asks her what it was she'd rather he be dressed in."Ummm, well nothing - I mean in particular! I mean, it's just that you know, it's not like I think you're overly dressed or anything. I just don't see many dressed quite like you, that's all I really meant", she stumbles with little grace of her words, having realized that she nearly trailed of at perhaps the worst words she could have. Nothing. Nothing would be nice... She quickly shoves away that voice in the back of her thoughts. What was she thinking!? Had she nearly tried to picture him without clothes on!? They were just friends, and new friends at that, so such thoughts were just... For a moment she can't help the idea of Andras dressed in an white button-up shirt entirely unbuttoned, revealing the chiseled muscle that defined his torso, worn and faded jeans torn slightly here and there with his hair soaked from a shower he'd emerged from. She catches herself in this curiosity that somehow escalated beyond her control for a moment before reeling it in quickly. Where had that imagery even come from? Distraction and embarrassment flicker across her gaze for a moment before finally she brings herself to the present and away from those less than appropriate thoughts to refocus on the defined features of his face as a dark chuckle ushers from him. She is thankful for his next string of words as he answers her query, happy to move away from the subject of his clothing and what he might be better dressed in. She listens now a deeper intrigue as he goes on to share that there are not many of his kind and for a moment she almost feels a tinge of sadness for Andras although before she can he leans back into the couch, tenors laced with a light note of teasing as he confirmed that they did in fact have families, explaining further the nature of their ways of living among each other. A court? That sounded almost like royalty... Her baby blues widen ever so slightly in surprise and wonder at how there were so few of these courts, but perhaps what most called to her attention and interest was that he had specifically included "his own". If a court of fae were under a rule, wouldn't that be the rule of a lord or king? Was the one who shared her company in this very moment more than just her friend, more than just Andras?

So many questions bubbled just beneath the surface, just on the tip of the young woman's tongue, but before she could even form the right words to ask him if he were in fact what his words had nearly implied, the quiet ease between them is shattered. She was hardly prepared for the sudden and fierce aggression that erupted from her normally quiet and calm feline friend that lunges for Andras, Beylani not even aware yet that he had moved out of the cat's reach or else she might not have reached out and snatched the tortoiseshell up and clutched the angry creature to her chest so tightly. Everything had happened so fast that she hadn't even felt the sting of torn flesh, something that just came with the territory of having a feline companion. Again things take a wild turn she hadn't foreseen and Andras is moving closer with a dangerous gleam in his gaze that almost reflected perfectly that look he'd given her that first night and as Chika hisses at the fae man, he bares his own teeth at her and a snarl that causes her entire apartment to quake subtly beneath the fierce sound as the vibrations rattle the walls, this of course causing the cat to suddenly lose all previous ferocity she'd had as she now shrinks as far into the young woman's arms as she can, slitted pupils now widened in fear and clear surprise."I'm sorry, Andras. Chika is normally so sweet", she says despite the reeling of her mind as it tried to reiterate everything that had just happened. His next string of words form a halfway threat and she holds Chika closer to her, baby blues bright with protective defiance but it ebbs away as he commands the cat to be removed from the room and Beylani is quick to stand from her place on the futon and moves into the bedroom to place the shaken feline on the bed before walking out and closing the door behind her. Well, she knew now if Andras were to come over it would be best to ensure that Chika stayed locked in the bedroom... Only now does she look down to her own stained red with blood before looking back to Andras."It's nothing, really", she replies assuringly to the fae man although she'd be lying if she wasn't touched that he would consider it a task he needed to tend to. Not even her previous boyfriends had hardly cared that much for Beylani, not like this anyway but perhaps this was just what a real friendship should be like or even just the way Andras had been brought up to be like. Whatever the reason, she was moved by it all the same.
